Dr. Travers and the rest of the team are very well trained to work with all children, including those with special healthcare needs. The goal of our team is to ensure that every child feels like a friend rather than a patient during their visit. We pay attention to the childrens emotional, and developmental needs and strive to create great memories for them, so they look forward to their next visit.
Dr. Grace Travers is a board-certified pediatric dentist by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry with many years of working with children under her belt. She obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), after which she completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the University of Chicago, in IL. She spent two extra years at a Lutheran Medical Center program located at Rady Childrens hospital in San Diego training to treat children including those with special healthcare needs. During this training, she was chosen as the chief resident for both years, and is still on staff at Rady Childrens Hospital.
Dr. Travers passion for pediatric dentistry and her desire to help children coupled with unwavering humanitarian service, has led her to do volunteer work in different parts of the world, such as Fort Yukon and Veneti Alaska, Waianea Hawaii, Mexico, Guatemala, Uganda and Sri Lanka. Since 2014 she has been a staff member at Rady Childrens Hospital in San Diego and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is also concurrently an active member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, San Diego County Dental Society, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and California Society of Pediatric Dentistry.
As a teenager, Dr. Travers moved to the United States from Uganda to pursue her undergraduate degree in Medical Technology from Northeastern State University in Oklahoma, and is happy to now call San Diego home. Her interests include involvement in her home church, hiking, snorkeling, trying out new recipes and traveling with her husband Brian.

My two kids love coming to Grace Children's Dentistry , the care and professionalism that Dr. Travers and the rest of the staff provide for both of my children is amazing. Dr. Travers is an awesome dentist, very personable, and honest. I highly recommend this place

I'm so glad we found Grace Children's Dentistry! My sons previous dentist took months to schedule an appointment, he was suffering because I couldn't get him in quick enough. Our experience with Dr. Grace was wonderful. She took time to explain to my 8yo (who thinks flossing is dumb) why flossing is important and how to correctly do it. She had me look at certain areas on the teeth so I could understand better, and ultimately help my child better. I'll be recommending to all my friends and family! The coin machine was such a great reward too! My son is actually looking forward to coming back :D

We absolutely love coming to see Dr. Grace! She is amazing with my kids. All the staff is always so welcoming and the way they explained the treatment to not only me but including g my kids made a huge difference. My kids were so cooperative! I highly recommend this office for your kids needs.

I just moved from LA to SD a few months ago and I was stressing over finding a new dentist . As my first experience here staff was very nice and friendly , especially the doc Dr. TRAVERS she is so nice ,patient and let's you know what's going on with your child & how you can help improve with dental methods in particular flossing & brushing . Great experience

This pediatric dental office is Amazing! I highly recommend Grace children's dentistry to anyone seeking great dental care for their little ones. This pediatric dental office is most definitely kid friendly. I love their oceanic wall murals throughout the entire office. Definitely calming and soothing atmosphere for the children. Dr. Travers and her team are very helpful and caring. They take the time to explain everything with details. I will most definitely be recommending Grace Children's Dentistry to family & friends.

Friendly stuff and dentist! We are doing our overseas screening and couldn't find anyone that can take my kids soon and the lady in the front desk worked something out and got my kids scheduled.my son got tooth extractions and said the they were really nice and gentle. Definitely RECOMMENDED!10/10

Amazing. Dr Grace and her staff are amazing. The office is very comfortable and clean. We were going to another really nice Dentist office but when we heard about this place we had to check it out. We were not disappointed. This place is perfect. Super clean,lots of space, and it's set up so kids are safe anywhere in the office. On our fist visit we were treated to a tour and were amazed by the thoughtful layout and design. The staff made check in easy and comfortable. Two bonuses things: 1) They play the same movie on all the screens so your child can continue watching what they watch in the waiting room the whole way through the visit. 2) since it is newer Dr. Grace is the only dentist there so you can expect to one family at a time service so if you are worried about COVID or other heath issues, you shoulder not be in contact with any other families. This also reduces anxiety if your kids are not the quietest kids like ours.

Absolutely the best. This is a special place. I brought my daughter in for her first visit and couldn't believe what a great experience it was. The team here is genuine, kind, friendly, knowledgeable, and Dr. Travers has created an atmosphere that is supportive and contagiously positive. She took the time to explain concerns and address my questions. She's kind and makes the kids feel comfortable. The entire office is impeccably clean and designed thoughtfully. This is my first Google review ever for a dentist, as I usually don't do these things. But this office needs to be appreciated for the good work they're doing. Dr Grace is the most inviting and personable dentist. She truly cares for her patients and families. Her staff is exceptional. Lorrena and Lelani are so welcoming and gentle with the kiddos. This office is decorated so imaginatively, with under water scenes to delight young patients and remove anxiety. It is a wonderful environment. Dr. Travers is a delightful and caring person.

Wow, this place is amazing. I was looking for a dentist for my son to do a routine check. And I found Grace children's dentistry on google. Dr. Grace was amazing and the staff was welcoming and professional. The place is family friendly, and ample free parking space. This is the cleanest office I've been too. When me and my boy walked in, my boy fell in love with the place right away because of the designs of the dolphins on the walls. I highly recommend Grace children's hospital.

Dr. Grace and her staff were Amazing with my kids. Getting my kids to the dentist is like pulling teeth. Dr. Grace was so welcoming, understandable and wonderful with my children. She was able to to do a full cleaning and exam with my twins (3yr) they sat in the chair like big kids and let Dr. Grace use all the tools, it blew my mind how well they did. I love that she was Honest about the work my kids need done. Both my girls (9yr and 3yr) suck their thumbs and bite their lips. She told me to wait and not to spend to much money on doing anything. Then kids need to make the decision to stop their poor habits.
