I have been going to Dr. Govani for over 10 years now. She and her staff are amazing. I have never had an issue with insurance and they always are clear with me if something isn't included and cost extra so I can decide what I want. I have never had a bad experience with any of the hygienists either. The other thing I appreciate about Dr. Govani is she is always willing to refer you for services that she feels can be done better elsewhere like root canals or having wisdom teeth pulled. I know too many people that have dentists who say they do everything and it ends up being a bad experience for them. In childhood 50 years ago, I acquired a fear of the dentist due to some extractions that were badly performed (plus, I have a small mouth that makes me harder to work on). So, when I discovered I needed two crowns, I was considering sedation. I 've been going to Govani Dental for several years, having known Dr. Govani since her college days and knowing first-hand about her integrity, so I decided to give it a go without medication. My first crown put me on Dr. Childs ' schedule and it was, I 'm happy to say, NO BIG DEAL! His gentle hands and demeanor, plus clear explanations by himself and the staff, were a part of what feels like a huge emotional adjustment in my life toward dental care. A relief! Also, they had just acquired some amazing new technology that imaged my mouth in 3D, so I got a 'dentist 's eye' picture of my mouth for the first time in my life. It was really impressive. High tech AND a family atmosphere.

We absolutely love going to Govani dental. I have bad anxiety when it comes to the dentist but it has gotten so much better since coming here. My son has been going there since he was 2 and is now 6 and he gets excited to go get his teeth cleaned. The girls make you feel completely comfortable and like family. I have been seen Dr. Govani for almost close to 10 years now. My husband is graduating from Marquette Dental School this year, and Dr. Govani has been so helpful for him over the past four years. As his mentor, she is always willing to take the time to help him with anything he is struggling with. I brought my 4 year old to Govani Dental for a second opinion after I noticed a suspicious spot on his molar while I was brushing his teeth. He had just been to the pediatric dentist 6 weeks prior for his 6 month exam and first set of xrays; he was given a clean bill of health. Dr. Govani retook the xrays, as the previous ones were undiagnostic, and she found a total of 5 cavities. I am a dental hygienist, but she still took the time to review risk factors and answer any questions I had. I am thankful for Dr. Govanis thoroughness and attention to detail. When my family dentist of over 40 years retired his practice, uncertainty and panic tend to follow. Who is good, nice, but knows what they're doing? As patients, we were given a recommendation, but you still ask friends, co-workers,etc.Govani Dental was our retired dentists recommendation , as well as other current patients. Not only I, but my parents and brother's family now have become patients. The staff welcomed all of us with open arms.I was amazed at how nice everyone was. The new technology and thorough exams. They also offer pet therapy and other ways to calm your anxiety.I suffer from periodontal disease and they have educated me and worked on my bone loss, gum tissue, etc., to help maintain and slow down the disease and damage.Before going to Govani Dental, I suffered with the effects of years of clenching my jaw. I never told my other dentist, but by the time I joined Govani, I was suffering from headaches, neck pain, and lack of jaw movement. Dr. Shaheda fit me with a mouth guard that I wear at night and sometimes at work. After two years, I can complete a dental exam w/o a headache and pain in my jaw. The staff checks for wear and cleans the mouth guard every 3 months.I and my family have been very happy with Govani Dental. I have recommended them to friends and coworkers. I have been going to Govani Dental since it opened. I have always had a fear of the dentist and postponed going to the dentist due to that fear. The first day I walked in, I was shocked to see a pool table, which is a ton of fun!! The office is neat and clean. Kelly the receptionist was very welcoming!! I was still a bit nervous to go back to the chair but did it anyway. The hygienist who cleaned my teeth was super nice and explained everything she was doing and made sure that I knew to let her know if I was uncomfortable. Dr. Govani came in and talked to me before she checked my teeth. I explained my fear of the dentist and I thought she lecture me for not going for a while. She did not lecture me one bit. She said she understood and that if anytime I felt nervous, let her know and she will stop. She took her time, made sure I was okay and after the first minute or two my fears subsided. I have been a patient of Dr Govani for several years now. I have always enjoyed my experience, and have always been treated like have been coming for a lifetime. I like the later hours that they have to offer, because I work long hours during certain seasons. Just last week I took a ball to my mouth and had teeth knocked around. At 9:00 at night I had my wife call Dr. Govani's office and ask that someone text me as soon as they got into the office Friday morning (text instead of call because at the time I could barely talk). Within 20 minutes, my cell phone rang and it was Dr Govani calling to find out what happened and to see if she needed to come in right away and evaluate things. She even kept apologizing because I had to repeat things because it was difficult to understand me. Though I am not done with whatever treatment I will need for this accident, I have total faith in her diagnosis and know she will do what is best for me. It is the only time I was truly scared to see a dentist, and she put me very much at ease, and has stayed very positive and encouraging.
