Dr. Gottsegen attended Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA, where he graduated with a B.A. in economics in 1989. He followed this degree with two years of additional study in a core science curriculum at the University of New Orleans.
He then attended the LSU School of Dentistry, finishing with high academic honors in 1995, and was selected by the faculty as the Outstanding Member of the Graduating Class. He was elected to the C. Edmund Kells Honor Society as well as the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. His outstanding record earned him admittance to the residency program in orthodontics at LSU, from which he graduated in 1997.
Upon graduation, he immediately entered private practice with his father, with whom he worked until his dad retired in 2005. He is licensed to practice dentistry and orthodontics in the states of Louisiana and Colorado.
Dr. Gottsegen strives to stay on the cutting edge of orthodontic technology, with current emphasis on accelerated orthodontic therapy, digital radiography, self-ligating appliance therapy, soft-tissue laser systems, orthodontic microimplantology, and dental sleep medicine. Dr. Gottsegen is a past president of the Louisiana Association of Orthodontists.
Karen has worked at Gottsegen Orthodontics for nearly 30 years. She appreciates working with a doctor and staff members who are so totally dedicated to their jobs and providing the best care and service possible to our patients and their families.
Alice has worked at Gottsegen Orthodontics for over 30 years. She likes that her job allows her to be herself and interact with patients in her own, very personable way. Alice is proud that we treat each patient as an individual and not just as another set of teeth. She also enjoys going out for staff birthday lunches, which are always fun and full of laughs.
Rebecca has worked at Gottsegen Orthodontics for nearly 20 years and loves it so much that she commutes from Mandeville every day. She strives to create a very caring and personalized experience for each of our patients. If youre an existing patient, she says its been a pleasure working with you, and if youre a newcomer, she cant wait to meet you!
Anna loves the camaraderie and fun atmosphere we have in the office, but when its time to get down to business, she and the rest of our staff get very serious about what we do. Although we are focused on creating beautiful smiles, Anna likes to learn about each of our patients personal stories.
Tea has been on our team since 2011 and, in addition to being a top-notch technician, is our clinical photographer. She enjoys every aspect of her job, and considers it a privilege to play a big part in delivering the highest quality of care we can to our patients. Tea feels like our office is one fun, happy family, and can always seen with a big smile on her face shell do everything possible to make you laugh and smile too.
Flower has been a part of the Gottsegen Orthodontics family for a long time, first as a patient, and now as a member of our team. She really enjoys connecting with patients and their families on a personal level and strives to make everyone as comfortable as possible. In her spare time, Flower enjoys traveling, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends. Flower speaks Vietnamese fluently and is an excellent translator.
As one of the happy faces at our front desk, Tyra enjoys greeting our existing patients and welcoming new patients into the Gottsegen Orthodontics family. Seeing the smiles of anticipation of those walking in the door, the excitement of patients as they complete their treatment, and sharing laughs with co-workers are just a few of the things that make her work environment so enjoyable. A native New Orleanian, Tyra loves attending live music and trying new restaurants, and although shes a foodie, shes recently developed a passion for fitness and living a healthy and holistic lifestyle.
Lindsay was born and raised in Metairie but has lived in Chalmette for the past few years. Shes the mother of a beautiful, enthusiastic little girl whos the light of her life. Lindsay spends the majority of her free time with family and friends, enjoying life and creating memories. She absolutely loves her job because it give her the opportunity to interact closely with our patients and create new relationships every day. Lindsay also cherishes the relationships shes developed with her co-workers and is very thankful to have these wonderful people as part of her life. All of this makes for a great environment to work in.
Annie was born and raised in California and has fallen in love with New Orleans. She has been a resident here since 2012 and is having a blast connecting with patients and learning about the citys culture and rich history. When she is not assisting patients, you might find her canoeing in nature or hanging out with her guinea pig, Sir Charles. Annie also has a degree in Sign Language Interpreting which allows the Gottsegen Orthodontics team to seamlessly communicate with the deaf or hearing impaired.

I first learned about Gottsegen Orthodontics a few years ago when researching adult orthodontic treatment options online. The self-ligating (Damon) braces seemed like a good option for me, and then I found Gottsegen to be an office in the NOLA area that offers Damon braces; I kept Gottsegen in mind for when I would be able to start treatment. I scheduled a consultation a few weeks ago and was initially scheduled for December, but with cancellations I was able to get in sooner. The consultation was very thorough - radiographs and facial profile photos to start, meeting with one of the technicians (I met with Flower) to discuss my history and treatment goals, and then a more in-depth discussion with Dr. Gottsegen where he reviewed the images and his treatment plan. He was very transparent with his recommendations. I was then given a transparent breakdown of the cost and projected timeline. Everyone at the office has been warm and genuine, and I look forward to starting treatment here!

I am here to help my son with his jaw fractures and dental care. Dr. Gottseng changed his schedule to coordinate his time with the oral surgeons appointment time. This was all to keep our son from missing to much school. We also needed to fix some teeth before his Thursdays procedure and he helped orchestrate that before seeing the surgeon. He has the best bedsides manners ever! I could go on and on. Even his staff was very pleasant. I was given his name by 2 different people. Confirmation. God is so good! I am so happy we came here.

I've been here twice. Once to replace a lost retainer and then to get a new one when my permanent retainer came out. They've been so great getting me in pretty quickly, and everyone here is so nice.

I absolutely love Gottsegen Orthodontics! I got braces here over 10 years ago, and they have been amazing at continuing to support me through my many needed retainers since then. Dr. Gottsegen himself is so talented and friendly, and his staff is excellent. I definitely recommend this place!

Dr. Gottsegen is a wonderful orthodontist. He's patient and explains everything thoroughly. His office is often bustling, but he always takes the time to connect with patients/parents. All three of my kids are patients and I could not ask for a better experience.
