Jolene has been with Dr. Gorczyca at Gorczyca Orthodontics for 21 years and has worked in the dental profession for 39 years as a dental assistant! She graduated from the Diablo Valley College assisting program where she now serves on the Advisory Board. Jolene has trained dozens of dental assistants completing their internships at Gorczyca Orthodontics who have gone on to become leaders in the orthodontic profession Jolene is a gentle, caring, and soft-spoken assistant, who shows exceptional compassion to all her patients.
Jolene is married to her high school sweetheart, Eric. She enjoys shopping, traveling, and fishing tournaments with her husband. She especially looks forward each year to her houseboat vacation with great friends. She and her husband live in Antioch.
After four years at Gorczyca Orthodontics, Gwen has taken over as Treatment Coordinator. Gwen speaks Spanish giving our Spanish speaking patients exceptional service. She is able to accommodate same day records and same day starts and gives our new exam patients personalized attention, outstandng customer service and a great patients experience.
Like every assistant at Gorczyca Orthodontics, Gwen has her own chair and her own schedule. She loves this ownership of her patient care and working with Dr. Gorczyca. Gwen enjoys getting to know each and every patient and their families. She considers this the best part of her job. Our patients smiles are her inspiration!
Gwen is originally from Concord, California. She is a graduate of Mt. Diablo High School where she was in the Culinary Academy. She now lives in Bay Point, California. When Gwen has a day off she likes to hang out with her friends and do volunteer work through her church. She also loves to travel and throw parties!
Jessica chose a career as an orthodontic assistant after having her own braces. Jessica grew up in Antioch, California and graduated from Antioch High School. She studied general education at Los Medanos College and complete her dental assisting and associates degree at Diablo Valley College.
Growing up in Antioch, California, Aliciana graduated from Deer Valley High School next door to Gorczyca Orthodontics. sHer own orthodontic treatment in our office sparked her interest in becoming a dental assistant.
While studying at Sacramento State, Aliciana also completed the dental assisting program at Horizon Dental College in Brentwood, California. Aliciana loves the environment and culture of our office as well as the patients. She finds orthodontic assisting and business management interesting because there is something new every day. Eventually, Aliciana would like to become an attorney with a specialty in serving dentists and dental offices.
Lyndsay has been in the orthodontic field for over 10 years and at Gorczyca Orthodontics for 5 years. She greets each new patient as our office Concierge. She also is the Financial Coordinator at Gorczyca Orthodontics and is availalbe to answer your questions five days a week.
Records Coordinator, Nikki, DA is originally from Guam. She is a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School in Guam and Horizon Dental College in Brentwood, CA. After Nikki became a new Mom, she was encouraged by a friend to also become a dental assistant because this career would be good for family life. Nikki has found the opportunity as a dental assistant to pursue her personal and professional dreams.
Nikki says that her patients make her job fun. She loves seeing the smiles on everyone's faces both with and without braces and she loves the pace of the orthodontic office environment. She finds the work of a orthodontic assistant very interesting. It is Nikki's goal to make every visit with every patient great.
Dr. Ann Marie Gorczyca has been aclinical orthodontist for over 25 years.She wanted to be an orthodontist since she was in the seventh grade when she had her own orthodontic treatment! After completion of her orthodontic residency program, she worked with world reknownorthodontist Dr. T.M. Graber in Evanston, Illinois. Since moving to California,she has taught at both UCSF and University of the Pacific Dental Schools and worked in a multispeciality group practice prior to opening her own orthodontic office in Antioch, California.
In addition to her private practice, Dr. Gorczycais anadjunct clinical professor at the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistryat the University of the Pacific. She has also taught at UCSF Dental School, and Northwestern Dental School.
She is author of the book It All Starts with Marketing and is a frequent lecturer on dental management. Dr. Gorczyca is also founder of the East Contra Costa County AmericanAssociation of Dental Office Managers Study Club (AADOM). She has received three teaching awards for her service to post-doctoral orthodontic education.
A graduate of Wellesley College, Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and Harvard School of Public Health, Dr. Gorczyca completed her advanced orthodontic residency and received a Master of Science degree in oral biology from Northwestern University. She also has a Master's Degree in Public Health.
Dr. Gorczyca has received numerous teaching awards for service and excellence in education. These include the Excellence in Teaching Award, UCSF Dental School, 1993 and 1994, and the Richard Remmel Rutter Teaching Award 1999, University of the Pacific Dental School.
Dr. Gorczyca received a Kellogg Fellowship to study Health Management and Policy at Harvard School of Public Health. She received the dental management award from Harvard School of Dental Medicine, Class of 1988. She also received a National Public Health Service Award to conduct basic scienceresearch at Northwestern and the University of California San Francisco. Her original research has appeared in publications and she is a frequent lecturer. She spoke at the American Association of Orthodontists Annual Sessions 2011, 2012, and will speak again in 2014.
Dr. Gorczyca has many passions and interests. As a youth she was a concert pianist and flutist and has appeared as both piano concerto soloist and flute concerto soloist with symphony orchestras. She had the opportunity to be featured as a flute soloist on Young Artists Showcase, WQXR, in New York Cityand also to play in Carnegie Hall as principal flutist with the MIT Symphony. She was a winner of the James PappoutsakisMemorial FluteCompetition during dental schooland served as principal flutist with the Longwood Symphony for five yearswhile at Harvard School of Dental Medicine.During this time she studied flute with Louis Moyse, Claude Monteux, and Lois Schaffer of the Boston Symphony.
After moving to California, Dr. Gorczycaplayed tennis for San Francisco City College where she studied business. Her team becameDivision Champions. She had the opportunity toplay in the Ojai Invitational and was given the team award 'Most Inspirational.'
Dr. Gorczyca is an avid reader and has a passionate interest in business management. She lectures on business management topics at the University of the Pacific Dental School. These topics include Marketing, Teamwork, Treatment Coordination, Customer Service, Managment Systems, and Human Resource Managment. She has published her first book It All Starts with Marketing - 201 Marketing Tips for Growing a Dental Practice, which isnow available on Amazon.
Dr. Gorczyca is married to Dr. Richard J. ODonnell, chief of orthopedic oncology at the University of California at San Francisco. Her family enjoyslearning Polish, hiking, travel, chess, church, Giants baseball,and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Gorczyca enjoys being part of the Greater Antioch Community. She has served as a frequent guest speaker at civic organizations including Rotary, Delta Business Network, and Delta Study Club. She frequently speaks at the local school, including Holy Rosary, Deer Valley High School, Pittsburg High School, Antioch High School, Jack London, John Muir, Brentwood Elementary,and Mno Grant where she has adopted a classroom. She is a devoted sponsor of many school eventsin the Antioch School District. Dr. Gorczyca and Gorczyca Orthodontics is most well know in the community for their annual Summer Splash Party at the Antioch Water Park.
