I had to see an oral surgeon because I have some cardiac issues that made dentists uncomfortable. I told them from the beginning that lido/novocaine-epinephrine combination causes cardiac issues... The very reason I was being referred was to avoid cardiac complications. They called in Valium before hand (I've had several bad experiences... because of the novocaine/epi reaction!!). I was taken back more or less on time and everything was fine - vitals in range, BP totally normal. They injected and whaddaya know? TACHYCARDIA. Why? Because they used novo-epi. I said that I felt sick immediately and they told me it was anxiety. WRONG. I even specifically asked for marcaine without epinephrine!!! The extraction itself was the least painful I've had thus far, but being ignored, then further minimized and not respected in very specific requests that are 100% need based is not okay. I really wish I had other options through insurance because I need a few more extractions and I am NOT looking forward to wondering if my heart is going to stop this time. Even if it was an anxiety reaction, maybe don't do the thing that you are being TOLD causes the anxiety. It's literally a different medication for the same use. Yes, epinephrine helps with bleeding, but in this case, the risks and benefits are heavily AGAINST its use. Please listen and ensure you have CONSENT to do what you're doing. I stated I was not okay with that and if you couldn't or wouldn't honor it, you need to be up front and not just do what you want.

I was referred here by the HVAMC Dental for an extraction of a broken tooth. Neketa took great care of me while Dr. Zagursky did a phenomenal job getting me completely comfortable and completely numb. I wished I was getting the iv sedation, but apparently the VA didn't pay for that, but the gas was GRRREAT and definitely took care of my anxiety. Thanks to everyone at Chesapeake office!!

I had an extraction. My first one ever. Everyone was FANTASTIC! They calmed me down, gave me all the information I needed to get through this and recover. No pain except as expected during recovery, but completely OK. My highest recommendation.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. I was referred here to extract my wisdom tooth that's causing extreme pain. My appt was @1215, I wasn't called back til 1348pm. (While sitting in the lobby, I was warned by another customer that they are hrs behind ALOT of times) They didn't come in to see me until 1400. The asst tried to rush me through the consent forms and have me sign without reading it. After I read it, I'm trying to tell them that I actually ate breakfast and drank water this morning so I can't sign agreeing that I didn't. She said that's OK just sign anyway. No Ma'am, I'll be leaving.

This area is plagued with bad dentists, and this is one of them. Went for a "consult" early March, and got sent a $300 bill for it in July! They filed the claim through my health insurance in May which I told them at my visit had no dental instead of filing it through my dental plan. Of course it was denied and they did not bother to file it through my dental plan. I emailed them the dental plan I had at the time to have it filed correctly and they told me my dental is out of network and they could not file it. If that is the case just file an out of network claim? You would think people in a medical office that file claims know how insurance works. At first they still were not trying to file a claim, but after telling them more than once to just file an out of network claim, they are now going to. I was supposed to have my wisdom teeth removed here, that's why I went in March for a consult. But they do not take my insurance so of course I will have to find another doctor. However if this is how they handle insurance and they do not seem to accept most major insurances (they don't take anthem or United) it's probably better that I find a new practice.

The entire staff is amazing! They performed the extraction of all four of my daughters wisdom teeth. They kept me informed throughout the entire process. Before the end of the day my daughter was up and functioning as if she didn't just have four teeth pulled! I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for an oral surgeon!

This office hasn't contacted me since December. They had one job to contact me and let me know whether my insurance covered a CBCT scan. Do you think they apologized or showed any empathy for the delay? Nope. No remorse at all. Meanwhile, my son's is in the middle of ortho treatment. They are the sole reason for the delay of my son getting his bottom row braces on. Needless to say, we won't be back.

When I arrived I was a very nervous...I was assured that everything was going to be ok. I was given laughing gas which made me giddy and relaxed. I didn't even feel it when Dr. Zagursky pulled my wisdom teeth out..I had three pulled. Now for me that's considered amazing as I am a big baby when it comes to dentists. Go there, they are amazing. I can actually say that I have found Dentists that I like.

..... My consultation was with Dr Barry and his bedside manners were awesome. Great staff, especially Michelle. Now on the other hand, the owner Dr. Goodove performed my surgery. He gave no eye contact, unpleasant and his vibe was cold. Not good

Went in for wisdom tooth extraction on all 4 teeth, and for my first major surgery I couldn't have asked for a smoother, relaxed, and more affordable process; I chose to stay awake with the help of local anesthetic and it was all less than $400. I was graced with the attendance of two very charismatic staff members, Dr. Zagursky and R.D.A. Neketa, who were informative of everything happening as well as any and all possibilities. No more than two minutes ever passed without the doctor asking if I was doing alright, the whole procedure from numbing time to the extractions took 30 minutes tops, and best of all I did not even experience the pressure of pulling teeth that was aforementioned. Didn't even swell until the next morning! Completely recommend this office without a doubt. ~

Lacks professional medical ethics & common sense. He left stitches in my lips that got infected because they just didnt care or look any further. Than did not attempt to treat the area afterwards as if malpractice wasn't a factor. I rather a sincere and trustworthy surgeon that's has enough patience to treat their patients with integrity instead of charging up insurance for laughing gas & anesthesia as if the hide away the pain..

I had 4 wisdom teeth removed last Friday. Dr. Zagursky and Neketa took very good care of me. They were concerned with my comfort level and very pleasant during the procedure. I also received a follow up call from Neketa to see how I was feeling. Thank you!

The team at Goodove oral surgery in Chesapeake was so professional and attentive. My son got his wisdom teeth taken out by them and they were wonderful. They walked me through the procedure, gave me step by step of everything they would do and made me feel so comfortable with putting my baby in their hands. Even after surgery they followed up with a phone call and made sure everything was good with us. They were fantastic and I highly recommend them.

I am pretty disappointed with my experience at Goodove. I recently had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Berry, staff was pleasant, and I understand that every surgery has its complications and side effects, because mine had several. However, as soon as I could eat and regained reasonably normal feeling, I noticed that my back tooth seemed to be chipped, unsure, I went to my dentist, where he confirmed that my tooth was chipped. Not bothering me much at the time, until recently when I began having extreme sensitivity and pain in that tooth, even being told I may need a crown. I'm in more pain now than I was before having my teeth removed. Offices had amazing COVID protocols and executed well at time of consultation, appointment, and follow up, I just felt extremely rushed and that my concerns were disregarded at the time of my follow up. My final complaint regards billing, front of house staff was super genuine and helpful, even went above and beyond sending pre-auths to my insurance before my procedure. My out of pocket expense due the day of surgery was paid in full, but after the surgery I was sent an additional bill, was a little displeased with this second bill, but was paid. Now I will have to face paying the out of pocket expense of a crown due to error in Goodove's office. I am writing this post to simply inform and make everyone aware of my situation, I am aware of consent forms I signed at time of procedure so I have very low expectations for future help or care, but hope that everyone reading takes this into consideration before scheduling with this practice.

My 12 year old had 2 teeth extracted for braces. I asked him three days after the appointment if he needed any Tylenol. He said "I never needed any, it never hurt." Pain-free experience. Staff were great, efficient and polite. Doctor was perfect, succinct, professional, not condescending at all. Refreshing dental experience. Highly recommend this group.
