Dr. Mitra Simanian earned her Bachelor of Science degree in the field of Microbiology and Immunology from the University of California, in Los Angeles in 1985. She continued her education at the UCLA School of Dentistry by completing her Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 1996, and has been practicing dentistry and diligently expanding her education since 1996.
She practices holistic dentistry and adheres to the principals of a Metal Free, Mercury free practice. She received her certificate of completion of Mini Residency in Implant Restoration from the UCLA School of Dentistry in 2005. She is also a certified INVISALIGN provider. IN fact she is one of the few Preferred Invisalign Providers in 90210, Beverly Hills area. She has been practicing dentistry for over 18 years and providing exceptional treatments especially in the field of COSMETIC and IMPLANT Restorations. She is vigilant in keeping up with the advances in dentistry and medicine, and strongly believes in continuing her education far above and beyond the requirements of the Dental Board of California.
Dr. Mitra Simanian is one of only a handful of dentists who are members of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology in Beverly Hills, California. She and her specially trained staff strictly adhere to the principals of this academy and perform the removal of mercury based fillings under their protocols. In addition, she is a proud member of the following prestigious organizations. She is the proud recipient of the LASER THERAPY CERTIFICATE from THE WORLD CLINICAL LASER INSTITUTE.
Dr. Emil Simanian was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Upon graduating high school, he attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics. He continued his education at the UCLA School of Dentistry, where he earned his Master of Science degree in Oral Biology. After six years at UCLA, Dr. Emil moved across town and matriculated into the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at the University of Southern California (USC), where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree.
Dr. Emil has an extensive background in the dental field. Having grown up shadowing his mother, Dr. Mitra E. Simanian, his educational background at UCLA and USC have combined to give him a unique approach when it comes to educating and treating his patients. He uses the most up-to-date dental techniques taught by some of the best dental practitioners in the world. His emphasis is on restorative dentistry, and he is constantly devoting time to learn the newest advancements in the field of dentistry. Dentistry is not just about drilling and filling. Its critical to look at the big picture to try to understand how improving oral health can ultimately help improve our patients overall health. My goal as a practitioner is to help improve my patients lives, and it starts with good oral hygiene habits and regular dental check-ups.
Rafi Rafiee received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree in 2006 from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. Since that time he has written several dental research articles in contemporary journals, presented advanced cases in dental seminars, and taught advanced grafting to dentists. Dr Rafiee performed surgical dental procedures in the Central California Veterans Hospital and Fresno Community Hospital. He then complemented this training by returning to USC to finish a second residency, this time in periodontics and implant dentistry. There he became a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology by concentrating in treating periodontal disease and placing dental implants while completing a Masters Degree in cranial facial biology.
Growing up in Pasadena, Dr. Rachel Lee attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and received a Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cell, & Developmental Biology. Dr. Lee continued her study at UCLA for a Doctorate of Dental Surgery with a Master of Science in Oral Biology. She was the only graduate in her class, receiving the dual degree during her dental education. Dr. Lee pursued her orthodontic training at Roseman University of Health Sciences in Henderson, Nevada, where she received her certificate in Orthodontics with a Master in Business Administration.
Dr. Lees passion is to provide the highest standard of care to create healthy, beautiful smile. She is thrilled to be a part of Golden Oak Dental and committed to provide good orthodontic experiences for patients in all ages.
Dr. Rachel Lee is a member of American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontist, and American Dental Association. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and playing with her puppy!
Dr. Azadeh Tavari is a highly trained Board-Certified periodontist and implant specialist. She focuses on patient-centered care, customizing treatment to each patient to provide the most comfortable, esthetic and minimally invasive techniques to achieve each patients dental health goals. She emphasizes a team approach to a patients comprehensive dental treatment to successfully address a patients individualized goals.
Dr. Tavari was born and raised in Los Angeles. She received her Bachelors degree in Neuroscience with a minor in Craniofacial and Dental Technology from the University of Southern California. She then went on to attend the University of Southern Californias Ostrow School of Dentistry for her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree (D. D. S.), graduating with honors. Dr. Tavari then further pursued her passion for dentistry and continued at USC to complete a specialty residency program in Advanced Periodontology. She also earned a Masters in Craniofacial Biology (M.S.) during her residency career.
While pursuing her dental education, Dr. Tavari also actively conducted and published research in collaboration with Dr. Homa Zadeh, in the fields bone regeneration and implant dentistry. She is an active member of many professional periodontal and dental associations, and received the 2017 Robert Merlin Student Leadership Award from the California Society of Periodontists.

I did really like this dentist and drove some distance to go to them until I went in for my appointment one day and they let me know they no longer accept my insurance. I have the Tricare Dental Plan (a plan for US Military Vets and their families) and without notifying me before my scheduled appointment, I was told the insurance was no longer accepted because they were hard to get ahold of. I was told I could see the dentist anyway but would need to pay for everything out of pocket. I have a new Dentist that is happy to support Military families and their insurance. My new Dental office seems to have no issues contacting the insurance for what they need.

Dr. Kim and staff were amazing with my boys. They explained everything thoroughly and were very patient. Update: Dr. Emil is amazing!!! He explains everything to you. My kids enjoy visiting this office, because they genuinely care about their patients. Staff are wonderful!

Golden Oak Dental Group is a full service professional dental office with staff that handles you with consideration and care. Have been a patient for 10 years with lots of various services from routine to complicated. They use modern low level radiation x ray technology. Dr. Samanian is an excellent dentist and works to find the solutions that are best for and your health.

I received the worst cleaning ever~ I left a msg and a text and the automated response said someone should get back to me~ 3 weeks later. Nothing. dr Kim did my cleaning for the record. I got home and took a look it didn't even look like I had a cleaning. Usually they give you a mirror to take a look and she didn't... I should have asked to see, but I didn't. I was in shock how bad it was. I've been getting my teeth cleaned regularly all my life and I have never felt this way.. I showed my husband and he was like WHAT the heck... And it only took 20 mins. When I arrived the front desk didn't even greet me. I had to say hello~ do I need to sign in or something. The they said yeah... we'll be with you in a minute. And this morning I received this text to rate them. I'm adding this part later bc I finally received a call from the office. The way in which the office manager spoke to me made things worse. I understand this is a family business and that we are in very unfortunate times BUT if Dr Kim considers this a thorough cleaning and did her best then I will not be coming back. I have never left a bad review for any doctor and I hesitated doing this.. my expectations are not unrealistic, as your response eluded to. My teeth should look clean after a cleaning and if I leave negative feedback to your automated messages asking how my visit went AND a voicemail I should get a response. I only gave this review after no one got back to me and I was sent an email to review you. I am so disappointed with the cleaning and how it has been handled that I will not ever be returning. I sincerely hope this doesn't happen to others in our SCV community that you have been serving for 15 yrs. yes... that was part of the response I got. Like I'm THAT costumer you can't make happy. A friendly greeting when I enter your office and good cleaning are all I expected. And thank you for wishing me good luck in finding another provider that can meet my expectations.

RED FLAGS! The so called Manager there can't even write prescriptions. The pharmacy was puzzled as to what kind of prescription was being handed to them. Better have the Doctor write it up. That way you can save yourself the hassle of going back and forth from the pharmacy. Very incompetent manager. My lady was running around with 3 kids going back and forth. She even had to wait for them to come back from lunch to get the prescription fixed. And to top it off, she even charged my lady for the emergency visit which was covered by the insurance. When my lady went back to get a refund the manager said she will not refund her until the insurance pays her. Yep, this is the so called "Manager". Same one which wrote the bogus prescription. Then she calls into the pharmacy and tells them to cancel the pain medication but give my 10yr old son his antibiotics. Very nice Lady to want to take it out on my son. IDK, how she is even in that position. Clearly, she DOES NOT KNOW what she is doing. Now, there's a case pending. Everything has been reported.

I didn't go here but I absolutely wouldn't. The receptionist Matthew was incredibly rude on the phone and wouldn't let me finish my sentences. I tried to tell him that I already had a referral from a general dentist and that they could re-issue the referral to them, but he kept insisting that I see their own preferred general dentist instead. If there is actually an insurance rule that requires I go to a general dentist again to be re-evaluated, I would be surprised, but he was just so rude and impatient that I had to hang up. I have a broken tooth and I need help. The first referral endodontist couldn't see me for a week and a half so I wanted to go to a different one, so what. What a complete jerk. This is such a waste of time.

I couldn't have asked for more. I went there last month to remove my wisdom teeth. Golden oak group have the most amazing courteous and professional team. from the front desk to their dentists. during the whole treatment they made I'm not suffering from any pain, and checked up on me regularly when I got home. Thanks guys! ill be back! only when I really have to ;)
