Dr. Shawn Miller was raised near Houston, Texas and attended the University of Houston where she received her Bachelors of Science in Biology. She then attended Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas and graduated with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2012. Working in public health had been a goal of hers since the beginning of dental school, and while looking for a job she quickly realized that this could be her last chance for an adventure so she found a job in the great state of Alaska and moved here soon after graduating dental school. She worked at Tanana Chiefs Conference providing treatment in Fairbanks and in surrounding native villages for five years before transitioning to work in private practice offices.
After learning about the role a dentist can play in improving a patient's abilities to breathe and sleep better, Dr Miller studied to become a Vivos certified provider. With this knowledge and skill set, she is excited to be able to provide a life changing treatment to many of her patients. Having the ability to really help a person improve their overall well being has become a passion of hers and she is looking forward to changing the world, one airway at a time!

I've been to my share of dentists in the area and was still trying to find a great fit when I stumbled upon Golden Heart Dental during their grand opening. I've never wanted to go anywhere else since. Dr. Miller is super thorough, always gives great suggestions for new ideas or techniques to try, and is a consummate professional with the drive to provide the best care possible. You'll be in great hands here.

I loved my experience! Easy to book online and find. I haven't been to dentist in years and I just moved here so I was really nervous, but after meeting them and getting in the chair all my fear went away. Such a friendly staff, and I was in and out! I first visited Golden Heart Dental in the winter of 2020 and, I have to say, all of my experiences there have been terrific! The entire team--Dr. Miller, Cassie, and Madeline--is simply delightful!!! Moreover, the exams and cleanings are both comprehensive and thorough. Dr. Miller even took the time to discuss sleep apnea's causes and treatments with me!

Doctor Miller is very good and always listens to your concerns. She doesn't rush the job and she cares about your overall health, not just a bad tooth. It is easy to make an appointment. I would never go to other dentist!
