Gold Coast Smiles founder Andrew Sami D.D.S, has established himself as a clinical leader in cosmetic, implant & restorative dentistry techniques, a level of expertise he brings to his Glen Cove office in Long Island, New York.

Dr. Sami began his professional education receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, graduating Summa Cum Laude from St. Johns University. While at St. Johns he was on the Deans List, was nominated for the Silver Key Award for excellence in Biology, and became a member of the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society and Watson pre-Professional Honor Society.

Inspired to pursue a career in dentistry after earning his undergraduate degree, Dr. Sami enrolled at SUNY Stony Brook, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree with Honors four years later. Dr. Sami then went on to Nassau University Medical Center where he completed a program in advanced training in General Dentistry, serving as Chief Resident during his tenure there. Upon completion of that program, he was selected tojoin the hospital Attending Staff, teaching and supervising residents while pursuing his other professional endeavors in private practice.

A year later, Dr. Sami founded Gold Coast Smiles in Glen Cove, Long Island. Over the next decade, Dr. Sami worked incredibly hard, honing his craft in cosmetic dentistry techniques such as porcelain veneers,CEREC crowns & Cad/Camtechnology as well as all facets of implant dentistry. In the quest to remain current in dental techniques, he participated in a multi-yearImplant DentistryFellowship Program at New York University, receiving advanced clinical training in the surgical placement of implants, bone grafting, and the diagnosis, treatment planning, and restoration of implant prosthetics. This led to his membership in theInternational Congress of Oral Implantologists.

He frequently attends continuing education sessions to stay informed of best practices and research to allow him to provide the most current treatment modalities to his patients. To date Dr. Sami has accumulated over 1000 hours in advanced post-graduate continuing education courses concentrated around Cosmetic, Restorative and Implant dentistry. His other professional memberships include: theAmerican Dental Association, theNew York State Dental Association, theNassau County Dental Society, theAcademy of General Dentistry, and theGlen Cove Dental Study Club.

Ashley is the newest addition to the Gold Coast Smiles team. Her 23 years of experience and knowledge in the field of dentistry includes a long history of dental billing and coding, dental assisting, treatment/financial coordinating and management of a multi-specialty practice. Her culmination of various roles have made her an asset to multiple areas of our practice. Ashley enjoys being an important part of each patients dental experience and seeing their smile transformations from start to finish. Outside of the office you could catch her playing mixologist at a local restaurant, putting together tasty ingredients for a quality cocktail. In her leisure time, Ashley enjoys staying fit and active with her husband Tim doing outdoor activities, frequenting the gym or just hanging out at home with their pet parrot Stoli.

Bettys bright smile and warm demeanor will welcome you as you walk into the office. The organizational and technical skills she acquired while studying Education at SUNY Old Westbury help her to keep the office running smoothly and efficiently. Her bilingual capability is an asset in this diverse community. She has worked in the dental field since 2001 in both General Dental and Pediatric Dental offices, joining the Gold Coast Smiles team in 2013 .Her son and stepdaughter bring joy to her life. In her leisure time, she enjoys family time, cooking, and reading.

Carrie has been with the practice since 1997, focusing on insurance and financing. She finds it rewarding to assist patients to manage their insurance and finances to get the high quality dental care offered to them. Over the years, she has gotten to know the patients so well that they are like extended family to her. She enjoys spending time with her two adult daughters and finds it rewarding to see them thriving and moving forward with their lives. She is involved in a cooperative organic farm and enjoys cooking the produce harvested from the farm. The rest of the staff enjoy the fresh produce that she shares with them at harvest time. In her leisure time, she enjoys gardening, going to concerts, and outdoor activities.

Cathy has been with us since she earned her dental assistant certification in 1985. Her warmth and enthusiasm show in her interactions with the patients and makes them feel comfortable in the office. She enjoys cosmetic procedures that send the patient out with an enhanced smile and positive attitude. She has two grown children and a granddaughter who is the love of her life. In her spare a time, Cathy enjoys being creative-scrapbooking, quilting, sewing, and a variety of other crafts. The rest of the staff enjoy her creative treats on holidays!

Cheri is a graduate of SUNY Farmingdale Dental Hygiene Program and the American Red Cross Dental Assisting Program. She has been with Gold Coast smiles since 2004. She is certified to administer local anesthesia and has laser certification for periodontal therapy. Her excellent clinical skills and commitment to education and prevention helps her patients to maintain optimal dental health. Like most California natives, she loves the beach and you could find her on a surf board enjoying the ocean. She enjoys watching and playing sports with her children who say shes a really cool mom.

Chris completed her degree in Dental Hygiene at SUNY Farmingdale in 1990 and has been with us since then. In addition to her work here, she is with the Dental Residency Program at Peninsula Hospital sharing her expertise and love of her work with recent graduates. Her commitment to people and their well-being extended to working with her dog Sami to provide comfort to children and senior citizens. She also enjoys gardening, traveling, and spending time at the beach.

Courtney is a Spring 2020 graduate of Hofstra University, earning a Bachelors of Science degree in Community Health. She will be pursing higher education post graduation, on a path to growing a successful career in the health field, pursuing a career in Dentistry. She enjoys assisting complex cases, as they are often the most rewarding for both the patient and staff. Patient comfort is most important to Courtney, which lends well to her fun and warm personality. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her dogs, family, and friends.

Jen came to work with us in 1997 and enjoyed dental assisting so much that she pursued certification in the field. Her smile and energy create an upbeat vibe in the office. She loves music and you often find her dancing and singing along with the music as she goes about her work. She enjoys the family-like relationship that exists among the staff and the warm and welcoming relationship with the patients. Out of the office she enjoys spending time with her young daughter and her husband.
