I am a family dentistry and orthodontics professional in Fort Collins and Windsor, Colorado who specializes in providing orthodontic treatment for all ages. I opened Goings Orthodontics in June 2007 with my wife, Kathryn. Together we have built our Fort Collins family dentistry and orthodontics practice from the ground up into what we are today. I wanted to create a place where people feel comfortable, welcome and receive excellent patient care. I also wanted to ensure that I have the latest technology and advancements for family dentistry in Fort Collins.
I grew up on a farm and ranch in western Nebraska, and spent many summers visiting the northern Colorado area. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Chadron State College in northwestern Nebraska, I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with high distinction, graduating among the top 10% of my class from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln in 1999.
I then served in the U.S. Air Force as a general dentist for five years and was stationed in England, just outside of Oxford. I was one of two dentists for the military members and their families and provided a variety of services like cleanings, extractions, root canals and wisdom teeth surgeries. While there, I developed and directed the childrens dental education program, as well.
Prior to becoming a dentist, I was very interested in becoming an orthodontist. I had orthodontics when I was younger. Unfortunately, my parents did not get me to an orthodontist early enough. I went when I was 12 or 13 and had two impacted canines (means the teeth are stuck in the bone). I had to have a surgery to get them to come in the mouth correctly. I also had to have an expander and full braces for approximately 5 years. When I was 18, I had jaw surgery to correct my underbite. I have been through the whole range of treatment with orthodontics. When everything was finished, my face, jaw and smile were completely transformed changed. I felt amazing. I wanted to have the ability to make others feel how I felt. That is when I began looking into what I could do to become an orthodontist.
In 2006, I graduated from the University of Colorado orthodontic program. I always knew I wanted to move to Northern Colorado and decided to build my first practice with family orthodontics in Fort Collins. Together, Kathryn and I have created a place that we feel is our second home. We want our patients to feel comfortable and welcome when they come into our family dentistry practice in Fort Collins and while they are in treatment.
When I am not helping patients get beautiful smiles with family orthodontics in Fort Collins, I am busy spending time with my family. I have boy/girl twins. Their energy is contagious! Together, we love hiking, golfing, playing outdoors, reading together, eating spicy chips (Doritos) and Cheez-Its, building snowmen and snow forts, and experiencing new places together. I also enjoy eating Mexican food and watching the great American sport of football. Go Big Red!

I realize Invisalign isn't the cheapest option out there, but the process is so smooth, I'm not sure there is a better one. From the initial 3D teeth scan to the quick turnaround and ease of use in your daily life (compared to traditional braces), I am very pleased about how my treatment turned out. Dr. Goings and his staff are really excellent, and provide great care and service.

Goings Ortho does it right! They're office is just.... Different! In the best way. They go above and beyond with customer service. They make it so easy! From texting paperwork, reminders, and texts to check in how we were after our first day! The office is fun, clean and the people make the difference in this office. They made my daughter feel so special on her first day, from check in to the treat pack. You guys rock! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!

I have nothing but great things to say about this office! I got referred to Dr. Goings to do Invisalign and he got my teeth perfectly straightened in a year flat - and they were pretty badly crooked when I started. Everybody there is so friendly I actually look forward to going - shout out to Sam at reception who is the absolute best!

Dr Goings and his staff are friendly, professional and delightful to work with. Dr. Goings treated both of my sons with Invisalign; the orthodontic results are excellent, and the entire process was easy. One of my sons was living abroad, and Dr Goings managed his treatment through combination of virtual appointments as well as "spacing" his aligners to match visits back to the US. The flexibility of this office is outstanding.

Goings Othhodontics has been nothing but amazing for my Family! When our Son's dentist told us he needed to see a orthodontist I chose Dr. Goings even tho he doesn't take our insurance they offered to work with me. They took super awesome 3D xrays! Even Gave me a USB stick to take to his oral surgeon to save me Money! Lea-Ellen is so kind and great with kids! Marci takes time to show you everything and explain everything She even went out of her way to find me a oral surgeon she called them and helped me set everything up. She is so caring and really likes to get to know you! Dr. Goings is so nice he really took the time to get to know my son! I Grew up terrified of thr Dentist and now I look forward to my son's visits! I can't recommend them enough!!!!!

My three older kids have Invisalign. My kids have really enjoyed their time there. The staff are so friendly and so easy to talk to. We have been impressed with their treatments and Dr. Goings. My oldest son first visit was when he was six years old and he is now 15 y/o. It's been great watching our kids grow in this area. Thank you Dr. Goings and staff!!!

I had a really amazing experience at Goings in Fort Collins! The staff is all super helpful and friendly and the service is excellent. I was able to start and finish my Invisalign within 8 months and Dr. Goings and his team were helpful every step of the way in my treatment.
