I am a family dentistry and orthodontics professional in Fort Collins and Windsor, Colorado who specializes in providing orthodontic treatment for all ages. I opened Goings Orthodontics in June 2007 with my wife, Kathryn. Together we have built our Fort Collins family dentistry and orthodontics practice from the ground up into what we are today. I wanted to create a place where people feel comfortable, welcome and receive excellent patient care. I also wanted to ensure that I have the latest technology and advancements for family dentistry in Fort Collins.
I grew up on a farm and ranch in western Nebraska, and spent many summers visiting the northern Colorado area. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Chadron State College in northwestern Nebraska, I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with high distinction, graduating among the top 10% of my class from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln in 1999.
I then served in the U.S. Air Force as a general dentist for five years and was stationed in England, just outside of Oxford. I was one of two dentists for the military members and their families and provided a variety of services like cleanings, extractions, root canals and wisdom teeth surgeries. While there, I developed and directed the childrens dental education program, as well.
Prior to becoming a dentist, I was very interested in becoming an orthodontist. I had orthodontics when I was younger. Unfortunately, my parents did not get me to an orthodontist early enough. I went when I was 12 or 13 and had two impacted canines (means the teeth are stuck in the bone). I had to have a surgery to get them to come in the mouth correctly. I also had to have an expander and full braces for approximately 5 years. When I was 18, I had jaw surgery to correct my underbite. I have been through the whole range of treatment with orthodontics. When everything was finished, my face, jaw and smile were completely transformed changed. I felt amazing. I wanted to have the ability to make others feel how I felt. That is when I began looking into what I could do to become an orthodontist.
In 2006, I graduated from the University of Colorado orthodontic program. I always knew I wanted to move to Northern Colorado and decided to build my first practice with family orthodontics in Fort Collins. Together, Kathryn and I have created a place that we feel is our second home. We want our patients to feel comfortable and welcome when they come into our family dentistry practice in Fort Collins and while they are in treatment.
When I am not helping patients get beautiful smiles with family orthodontics in Fort Collins, I am busy spending time with my family. I have boy/girl twins. Their energy is contagious! Together, we love hiking, golfing, playing outdoors, reading together, eating spicy chips (Doritos) and Cheez-Its, building snowmen and snow forts, and experiencing new places together. I also enjoy eating Mexican food and watching the great American sport of football. Go Big Red!

I cannot say enough good things about Goings Orthodontics in Windsor! Dr. Goings and the office staff are always friendly and welcoming. I've only been using Invisalign for 2 months but I'm blown away by the results so far!!

Seriously the greatest team! From front desk to techs to Dr. Goings himself- everyone of them make sure you are taken care of and feel a part of the family. Dr. Goings takes good care of his staff and it shows in the way they take care of patients. I began with a different Ortho office that was recommended by my dentist (that is also amazing!) but it was not a good experience! In fact it was horrible, terrible and no good! Having visited Dr. Goings via a child I was nannying I took the opportunity to inquire about switching. It was seamless, affordable and the best decision I could have made! So glad I did! So hope you consider them as well- they are the best of the best!

Goings Orthodontics has been wonderful! My 12 yr old daughter is actually happy to be getting orthodontics! She just had the motion appliance put on this morning and didn't even know it was in! Goings staff has been so helpful friendly and professional. I highly recommend them to anyone!

Dr. Goings and the staff are absolutely incredible!! We have never been anywhere where we have had the care and experience of nothing but amazing as we did here. They feel like family and always were so welcoming and my kids and myself absolutely adore all of them! The Windsor office is absolutely amazing! They walk you through every aspect of the orthodontic process and calm any fears you or your children might have! They are always looking out for the best interest of your children and can be trusted with any recommendations they make! They aim to please and have always gone above and beyond for my family....and trying to schedule appointments around 4 kids busy schedules is not an easy task but they always seem to make it happen! We have been so blessed by all the ladies in this office and are so thankful we get to walk the orthodontic journey with them! They are the REAL STARS!!

So far I have had two kids use Goings for their orthodontic work. We've had braces and Invisalign and the whole process has been incredibly easy! We are just starting with our 3rd and I look forward to the process with the amazing folks at Goings. I would highly recommend them to everyone! My kids love the flexibility of Invisalign and of course the end product!

Lea-ellen has been my orthodontist since i first came in to get my invisalign and i'm about to have my last appointment for them. she actually made me look forward to coming to get my teeth checked out and fixed and she did such a good job giving me the smile i've always wanted. totally recommend her!!

This office is great! I've now had two kids finish the treatment with beautiful smiles, and I have a third starting into the process. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. They work with us as much as possible to schedule appointments after school. I can't think of anything they can do to improve the process. Definitely a good option if you're researching orthodontists.

I'm an adult going through braces again. I have a complicated case. Dr Goings and his staff have been very kind and understanding helping me through some of my pain and questions. Always willing to help me get through the process. I also have some sensory issues and his gals have gone above and beyond with helping me and adjusting my brackets so I have the least amount of pain!

The staff is amazing and they use high technology to fix smiles. I chose them for my 2 sons after interviewing three orthodontists in Windsor and Greeley. Plus they were recommended by a lot of moms in my community. Goings have the up-to-date technology that the other orthodontists don't have. This means faster results and more affordable! Their prices are fair at less $1000 to $2000 cheaper than their competitors who use old and big mechanisms. Both of my sons are excited to start their treatment and get beautiful smiles.
