I grew up in a small town in Tennessee called Celina, near Dale Hollow Lake. The south side of Indianapolis has always been a second home for me since childhood. My mother grew up here and most of my extended family currently lives here. I spent many of my childhood summers and holidays at my grandparents house in Greenwood. I am excited to return to the south side.
I graduated from Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, TN with B.S. Biology and B.S. Chemistry degrees. I spent some time teaching high school chemistry to 9th-12thgraders before deciding on becoming a dentist. I attended Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis and graduated with my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
I am married to my better half, Rachel. We started our family in 2016 and now have 3 beautiful children Addie, Ben and Callum as well as our 2 dogs, Kyla and Sandy. In our spare time we love going to the Indianapolis Zoo and The Childrens Museum. We love traveling and exploring new places.
My mission is to provide all patients with exceptional dental care tailored to each individuals needs in an honest, caring and comfortable environment. My goal is to treat everyone like they are family, giving them the best quality dental care possible..

When Dr Shank had this office it was fantastic. Our experience with Dr Goad has been less than impressive! Billing issues that they didn't bother to handle for 6 months. And my daughter needed a crown that we paid for and it has taken them over 6 months for them to get it done...LOTS of excuses!! I would NOT recommend this dentist!!

I took my daughter for a cleaning and we had a great time, the whole team from the administrative assistant, dental hygienist through Dr. Goad, were highly professional and made our experience the best, especially for my 8 year old daughter who was treated lovingly and environment for her was made fun. Thanks Dr. Goad and team! Recommended 100%

Recently changed dental offices after a number of years at the same office. The reviews on this office/Dentist do not lie! They are all top notch and very friendly. They emailed the patient intake forms prior to my appointment to save me time in filling them out when we arrived. They were on time to the minute, which is extremely important to me. Very friendly hygienist, and not in the impersonal way making light conversation, but actually like you've met an old friend and are catching up! The cleaning was very gentle and thorough. She explained everything as she was doing it and asked if I had any questions throughout. Dr. Shank came in and it was as if another old friend had come through the door! He was very down to earth and friendly. He asked if I had any concerns and offered a few suggestions to ensure things would continue on the right path. Overall I could not be happier with our decision to switch dental offices. I highly recommend them and assure that you will not regret it!

I havent been to dentist in a long time so going to dentist where they treat you with love and respect is awesome. I wasnt just another patient i was person that they fixed my teeth so i can smile without shame and sadness. They are so gentle and just great amazing group of dentists. My son his dentist appointment and he use to hate going to dentist. So thankful best place ever!!thank you guy!

First time visiting Dr. Shank. Staff was very professional, courteous and accommodating! Due to bad weather and an accident causing a delay, I was late for my appointment and phoned to let them know I was running behind, and they were still able to see me which was appreciated. Great experience for a first time visit.

Dr. Shank is the best dentist I have ever been to. He is highly ethical so don't go to him wanting teeth pulled that don't need to be. He is painless and great with kids. Parents don't make your small child afraid of the dentist that is one one the worst things you can do. Dr. Shank has seen my boys grow up and they wouldn't go anywhere else unless they had no choice. I highly recommend him to anyone. I have to edit my comment a little and say that I will be happy to recommend Dr. Shank to everyone in his very future new home. The office is not closing and the new Dr is great , but I know for me and my boys Dr. Shank will be deeply missed. Godspeed Dr. Shank.
