Dr. Joseph (Hal) Capps, Jr., graduated from The Citadel and received his DMD Degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1994. He is a member of numerous professional organizations including the ADA, SCDA, and is a past president of the Grand Stand Dental Society. After MUSC, he returned to his hometown of Myrtle Beach and joined Glenns Bay Dental Associates in 1995.
Dr. Edward (Ed) H. Goldberg, IV, attended Wofford College and College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina. He graduated from the College of Dental Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina with a DMD Degree. He grew up and experienced the field of dentistry at a young age, since his great grandfather and grandfather were both practicing dentists. He joined Glenns Bay Dental Associates in 1992.
Dr. Julie Obenchain graduated from Bowling Green State University. She then moved to Cleveland and earned her DDS degree at Case Western Reserve School of Dentistry. After graduating, Dr. Julie Obenchain moved back to her hometown and completed a year residency at the V.A. Hospital in Dayton before going into private practice. She joined Glenns Bay Dental Associates in 2004.
Dr. Lauren Berkey graduated from Presbyterian College with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. She completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the Medical University of South Carolina. While there she served as President of the Dental Student Alumni Council, Secretary and Vendor Relations Coordinator of the American Student Dental Association and Chair of Student Professionalism and Ethics Association. She joined Glenns Bay Dental Associates in July 2019.

Just so everyone knows, i hate going to the dentist. So when I broke a tooth over Memorial Day weekend that turned into an infection overnight i was in agony. I called my regular dentist, and they did not offer emergency service. I called every dentist in a 10 mile radius. Glenn's Bay was the only dentist office to have the courtesy to call me back. I spoke to the emergency on call receptionist and she said that she would call back to see if they could get me in on the holiday weekend. To my surprise Dr. Capps called me back himself and told me to go in 1st thing in the morning. Needless to say, they were wonderful. He was able to relieve my pain and also save the tooth. Very caring and compassionate staff. I would recommend them to everyone!

Who could possibly fall in love with their dentist and staff?? Me!! I had a toothache , and in need of alot of work. The staff was amazing starting with the front desk . (Simply amazing ) . The dentist and the assistant even more amazing. Professional, friendly, kind and gentle . Im actually looking forward to going back. It's been hard coming from another state and starting over but this was by far the best decision for me ( the biggest 59 year old chicken ) has found her forever dentist office and I am forever grateful that I have found you all . I don't think a kinder or more wonderful experience could be found . They are ALL the best starting with the front desk and moving to the dentist chair. First time at Glenn's Bay Dental. I called and was immediately given a same day appointment. I had a sinus infection and tooth ache. Once staff knew I had sensitive teeth, she immediately change the water temperature to warm. First time ever in all my life that this was done by a dental professional. I moved to the area about 2 years ago and have been trying to find a good Dentistry office ever since. A friend referred me to this office and I am so happy she did! The experience I had at Glenn's Bay was exceptional. The front office staff was very helpful and nice. My dental hygienist was thorough and explained everything she was doing as she went and Dr. Berkey was very informative and made me feel comfortable and at ease. A great office with wonderful people!

Dr. Capps is an awesome dentist. His dental work is excellent, and he truly seems to care about his patients. His staff of dental assistants and hygienists also do excellent work, and the office staff is efficient, courteous and helpful. I have seen this dentist since I moved to SC in 2008, and I would not consider seeing another dentist.

I believe when who's teeth are missing or are not in the best condition, they feel embarrassed and very self conscious about it Dr. Capps immediately put me at ease. He plainly went over his recommendations for my dental procedures which were needed and left the final decision up to me. If you are looking for a dentist who is extremely interested in your dental health and is also very reasonable, Dr Capps is it.

We are long time patients and have always had such a wonderful experience. From the customer service to the dental work we can't speak highly enough of this office and their staff! Wanda has been our hygienist and has been wonderful! We always dnjoy seeing Laverne and appreciate everyone going out of their way to help us in every way possible
