Dr. Melissa Gierman is the owner of Glenbard Family Dental. She graduated from the University of Illinois with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2002. She is an active member of the Chicago Dental Society, American Dental Association and the Illinois State Dental Society. She started this practice in 2005 with the idea that people needed to be treated as individuals and feel comfortable when coming to the dentist. She completed her certification in Implant Placement in 2009 and has been placing guided and unguided implants ever since. She has also completed many All on 4 Implant cases.
She is in active person in her spare time. She has competed in many obstacle course races and triathlons. She has three children that keep her very busy. Her family enjoys the outdoors and riding horses competitively, which is the inspiration behind the theme of the office.
Dr. Matthew Sweeney grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with his Doctorate of Medicine in Dentistry. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, Chicago Dental Society and American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Sweeney provides high quality care for his patients and enjoys helping them restore their smiles to a healthy and esthetic state in a comfortable manner.

To begin the implant process, a metal post is surgically positioned into the jaw. This post will act as a permanent root for the implanted tooth. Once it is in place, the surrounding bone and tissue needs time to heal.
Implants require healthy gums and adequate bone. A patient must also be committed to excellent oral hygiene and regular dental visits, as these are critical to the long-term success of dental implants.

I must tell you I was very impressed with the way I was handled without your people and especially with the doctor. I know it's a big decision for me because I am so old but I know something has got to be done or worse things will happen so I am looking forward I hope two good things going forward. Thank you so much, Dr.Also, the service from your staff is always so wonderful. You have a great family dynamic going on there which says everything about your leader. There is nothing better than working for a true "leader" who "empowers" their staff versus being a "boss" who likes to "rule".their staff. Anyhow, great job, Michelle! Every time I swing by here I have a very pleasant experience. The staff are very professional, kind, and knowledgeable. My questions are always answered and I never feel like I'm being talked down upon (have had issues like that with dentists in the past). They seem like they genuinely want to help you when you have questions or problems. Dr. Gierman is also very supportive and efficient. I enjoy them so much I always refer friends if they're on a hunt for a new dentist. Highly recommend!
