Dr. M. Melissa Francisco,a New Jersey native, received her Baccalaureate in Biology from Rutgers University and earned a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from New York University, College of Dentistry. Her past involvement in a variety of University associations and societies strengthened her clinical experience into the areas of Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry, Biomaterials, as well as Pediatrics.
She takes pleasure in, and is dedicated to, furthering her learning through continuing education courses that will help broaden her scope of practice, to ensure you have the most relevant and superior dentistry!
Our long-time hygienist,Miyuki L., will not be returning to work as we re-open our practice. Her and her family have made this tough decision based on their needs and desires to ensure a healthy household for her young children, especially her son, while the Coronavirus remains a threat.We are extremely grateful for Miyuki's dedication to this office and, most importantly, her passionate care forher patients overthese past several years. Gingivitis is the medical term for early gum disease, or periodontal disease. In general, gum disease can be caused by long-term exposure to plaque, the sticky but colorless film on teeth that forms after eating or sleeping.
Gum disease originates in the gums, where infections form from harmful bacteria and other materials left behind from eating. Early warning signs include chronic bad breath, tender or painful swollen gums and minor bleeding after brushing or flossing. In many cases, however, gingivitis can go unnoticed. The infections can eventually cause the gums to separate from the teeth, creating even greater opportunities for infection and decay.
Periodontitis is treated in a number of ways. One method, called root planing, involved cleaning and scraping below the gum line to smooth the roots. If effective, this procedure helps the gums reattach themselves to the tooth structure. However, not all instances of scaling and root planing successfully reattach the tooth to the gums. Additional measures may be needed if the periodontal pockets persist after scaling and root planing

Doctor and her staff carefully explained every step before they undertook them. They showed themselves to be warm and caring professionals. I appreciated the solid advice and honest recommendations, without any attempts at upselling marginal or unnecessary services. I seriously cannot recommend them more highly! My biggest fear is I'm now afraid others will discover Glen Dental and Dr. M. Melissa Francisco, DDS and I'll have to wait weeks for an appointment.

If you live in or near Glendora and need a new dentist, then this is the place you want to go. I have been coming here for years now and have never had bad experience. The staff is always kind and always comforting when you're worried something might be wrong. I have nothing but appreciation for what Glen Dental continues to do for me. I am also a cash patient and they have the best prices in town from standard cleanings, to filling cavities, and even for scaling.

Dr. FRANCISCO is very patient and understands the fears and apprehension of me having to sit in the dental chair for ANYTHING. She works at my pace and is very sensitive to my needs. I'm so glad to have her as my Dentist. Her numbing skills are excellent. I didn't feel a thing. I just wish one day the sound of that drill would be a silent one. Thanks again to Dr FRANCISCO and her staff for making my visit to the Dentist a pleasant one.

Dr. Francisco and the whole staff at Glen Dental are awesome. She's very thorough and takes the time to explain everything to you and answer all of your questions. She doesn't make you feel bad if your teeth are in less than perfect shape. But she's willing to help you get there. I'm so glad we found her.

I drive from South Los Angeles (hour drive) to come here. I was horrified of dentist before here due to some bad experiences. Really gentle and informative.Their overall goal is to save your teeth rather than doing what's easiest. (like pulling them for example.)
