Every day I come to the office knowing I will be working to make positive changes in the lives of my patients. When a person feels comfortable in their appearance, they have stronger self-esteem and more confidence. I love watching a patients personality develop and blossom as they move through treatment: as they see their teeth straighten and their new smile emerge, they start to open up and become more outgoing. Being part of this process is an honor.
I also treasure the conversations I have with each person. I always come away from those exchanges with some new tidbit of information, or a better understanding of the world or myself. My patients may not realize it, but I look forward to seeing each of them!
In addition to my university education, which provided me with an excellent foundational knowledge of orthodontics, I actively pursue continuing education (CE) throughout the year. I just finished a four-year term in the Rochester Dental Study Club, which organizes CE for oral healthcare providers.
By attending and participating in CE meetings, lectures, and seminars, I am able to stay at the leading-edge of the field, to the benefit of my patients. Orthodontics is a constantly changing profession, with emerging technologies, developments in treatment methodologies, and new materials coming on the market. It is essential I stay abreast of this information in order to provide my patients with the highest level of care available.
Ive lived in Rochester, NY, for five years, though Im originally from western New York. My life is shared with my wife Vicki, son Jack, daughter Emme, and Percy, our family dog. Away from the office youll find me engaged in a variety of activities, from kettlebell workouts and yoga to geocaching. I also love singing and playing the guitar.
Professionally, I also believe in serving our community. Our practice participates in the Smiles Change Lives program, which provides orthodontic care for individuals who would otherwise not have access to it.
