Dr. Ari Gitlin is a certified dental anesthesiologist with advanced residency training, which provides a significant benefit to our patients. For your comfort, we provide all levels of sedation, including IV sedation and general anesthesia with hospital-grade monitoring equipment to ensure your safety. Sedation dentistry is an optimal choice for people with dental anxiety because it produces a relaxed and calm state. It also reduces the already low risk of procedural complications and optimizes long-term outcomes, particularly for patients with special needs.
At Gitlin Dental Group, we use guided surgery to deliver individualized outcomes precisely tailored to your specific dental needs. Everything is mapped out, from your unique oral anatomy to the final restoration. Our CBCT scanner produces a 3D image of your teeth, soft tissues, nerve pathways and facial bones. This is used to create a customized surgical template that resembles a mouthguard with holes that guides placing implants in the most optimal sites with the healthiest bone.
Gitlin Dental Group is one of the few practices on Long Island that routinely uses platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) for extractions and socket preservation. PRF is created from your own blood, withdrawn and spun in a centrifuge to isolate the rich fibrin material. We place it on top of bone graft material or extraction sites, which promotes faster healing by stimulating and increasing the growth of reparative cells that your own body produces. PRF minimizes pain and swelling, helps soft tissue heal quickly and prevents dry socket.
A native New Yorker, Dr. Gitlin attended NYU College of Dentistry then went on to complete a General Practice Residency Program as well as a Dental Anesthesiology Residency Program at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He has extensive training working with all departments in the hospital, and has completed over 2,000 sedation/general anesthesia cases in dental medicine, oral surgery, vascular surgery, neurosurgery, urology, OB/GYN, pain management, pediatric surgery, and general surgery.
Dr. Dmitry Malayev is a graduate of New York University College of Dentistry and completed his General Practice Residency Program at Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center. He is a licensed dentist in New York State that has been practicing since 2014, with emphasis on cosmetic and restorative dentistry, root canal therapy, and implants. Dr. Malayev is focused on personalized dental care, and on unfaltering attention to his patients needs.
