After five years of working as an engineer, Dr. Girdwood decided that he would like to have more direct involvement in improving peoples lives. Dr. Girdwood decided to combine his love of working with children and his engineering background by becoming an orthodontist. This is reflected in his commitment to providing the most cutting edge technology in orthodontic care in an environment where patients and families know they are truly cared for and valued.
Dr. Bart and his wife, Eileen, who is a registered nurse, settled in the Warren/Butler county area to raise their three children. They appreciate the family-oriented values that the communities in this area exhibit as well as all the activities that the area offers. They now enjoy sharing the fun with their three grandchildren.
Dr. Bart takes great joy in giving back to these communities by sponsoring a variety of activities including youth baseball, softball, basketball, football, soccer, and cheerleading as well as class trips, mission trips and band competitions. He stays involved in many of the area schools through lecturing on dental health and by participating in health fairs and career fairs. Many students over the years have also benefited from job shadowing at Dr. Barts office.
When not creating beautiful smiles in his office, you may see Dr. Bart running or biking the roads in Warren and Butler counties as he trains for his next half-marathon, marathon or triathlon. He also enjoys playing golf with his family and friends, watching his grandchildren participate in their many school and sports activities, cheering on his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes, being involved in church activities, and traveling when he has the time.
OFFICE MANAGEREileen is Dr. Barts wife of 28 years and the glue that pulls everything at Girdwood Orthodontics. Eileen handles many daily office financial duties, human resources, marketing, scheduling and everything else that gets thrown her way! You have a question? Eileen is your go-to girl! Dr Bart and Eileen have 3 grown children and 3 grandchildren and love to spend time with their family, especially in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Eileen has a Bachelors Degree in Nursing from the University of Tennessee but spent most of her college career at The Ohio State University where she and Dr. Bart met. They are truly obsessed fans and can be found at most Ohio State football games both home and away! Eileen loves working with the team at Girdwood Orthodontics and serving all the patients and families that trust their care to us.
RECALL COORDINATOR Emily has literally grown up at Girdwood Orthodontics! She is the oldest daughter of Dr. Girdwood and has worked in the office since she was a teen. After branching out to work with the Warren County Probation Department after college, Emily returned to the office to use her many talents in our fun, family friendly atmosphere. Emily is the Recall Coordinator and helps patients stay in touch with the office when there are times in their treatment when we are waiting for growth or patients are in retainers. Emily is the proud mom of twins, Brady and Ethan, and mom of energetic, Connor. She loves movies, shopping, attending her kids activities, being involved in her church and being with family and friends.
Kelly has been working in Orthodontics since 1997. Kelly has three adult children and is about to become a first-time grandmother in February of 2019. She enjoys spending time at the lake, boating, being outside and hanging out with family and friends. She loves to help patients achieve the confidence they deserve and a beautiful smile to go along with it.
CERTIFIED ORTHODONTIC ASSISTANT Laura has been an Orthodontic Assistant since 1997. She possesses a big kid at heart attitude! In 2015 Laura became a Certified Orthodontic Assistant and is an expert in the field of orthodontics. Laura has 2 beautiful children, daugher, Grace and son, Dylan. In 2012 Lauras family grew when she married Brandon and welcomed his son Cohen into their family. Laura and Brandon love serving at their church, working in their large garden and hanging out with their kids. Laura is driven by her interactions with patients and families everyday and helping them achieve their perfect smile!
LAB TECH/ASSISTANT LeeAnn has been a part of the Girdwood Ortho team since 2009. She handles many duties around the office including assisting, sterilization, lab preparations and supply ordering. She is a whirlwind! LeeAnn lives in Middletown with her husband, Shawn. They have three children, sons, Taric and Troy and daughter, Taylor. LeeAnn loves all the activities her kids are involved in and loves to exercise. She is honored to be a part of the Girdwood Orthodontics team and being part of creating beautiful smiles and changed lives.
Taylor moved to the Cincinnati area in 2017 form Ontario, Canada, where she was both a Dental Assistant and a Hygienist. Within the last year, she successfully completed her Dental Hygiene license for the state of Ohio. Orthodontics was always something she was interested in and was excited to learn about. Combining that interest with her passion for oral health and education was the best decision she made. Taylor enjoys seeing the changes orthodontics make in the patients and their parents lives, as well as using her knowledge and background in Hygiene to help educate with oral self care. She is very excited to have the opportunity to implement Girdwood Orthodontics oral hygiene program with all of her patients, and hopes to continue making a difference in their lives.
Tressa has been in the orthodontic field since 1995 and as our treatment coordinator she loves being the first person to meet our new patients and families. Tressa lives in Franklin with her husband, Ron, and has two grown children, son, Jeff, and daughter, Haley. Tressa and her family are huge fans of Kings Island as well as Wildwood Golf Club in Middletown. Tressa thinks of Girdwood Orthodontics as her home away from home and strives to help others feel that way, too!
