My father, Dr. Albert Gilman, founded The Gilman Orthodontic practice in 1964. As I personally have been in practice for over 30 years, some of our current patients are the grandchildren of our original patient family! Few professions or occupations enable one to establish and maintain such long-term relationships within their community. The beautiful smiles that we create are only part of the gratifying experience.
I am regularly involved in dental continuing education as pertaining to dentistry in general, and orthodontics in particular. Courses I have taken include orthodontic technique and theory, practice management, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements, CPR training, and infection control.
I have practiced orthodontics since 1983, and attained American Board of Orthodontics Diplomate status in 1996. I truly love what I do. Beautiful, handsome smiles and enhanced confidence and self-esteem are only the beginning! Some orthodontic treatment is rendered over several years, and our patients become part of our office family. We have the privilege and opportunity to share in our patients' life events and joyous occasions.
I grew up in Glen Cove, NY, and have lived in East Northport since 1996. My lovely wife is Dr. Bonnie L. Yellin, with whom I share the practice. We have three wonderful children named Jordana, Jonathan, and Benjamin. In my spare time, I enjoy running, weight training, and bicycling. I love all the outdoor activities that Long Island has to offer, including spending time at the beach, hiking, and nature walks.

I absolutely love being an orthodontist! I feel fortunate to be able to enjoy what I do every day and to see the positive impact I can make in a person's life. I get amazing satisfaction by building beautiful smiles and I especially enjoy the improved self-esteem and confidence that comes with these new smiles. These positive changes stay with our patients forever.
I am involved with continuing education to stay informed and current in the specialty of orthodontics. In addition to taking courses in both orthodontics and general dentistry, I attend orthodontic meetings and journal clubs, and keep up with all the current orthodontic literature.
I was born and raised in Aurora, Illinois, and moved to New York to attend college and stayed to complete my dental and orthodontic degrees. I met my husband, Dr. Brian Gilman, while attending Columbia University Dental School. We married in 1988, and I then joined Gilman Orthodontic Associates. As Dr. Brian and I practice orthodontics together, we consider our practice an extension of our home and family. We have three amazing children named Jordana, Jonathan, and Benjamin. Outside the office, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I run, bike, and hike outdoors all through the year. I also love to read, travel, cook, and work in my vegetable garden.

Gilman Orthodontics are the best!!! I went there when I was 17, and now, my 3 daughters have all had braces at the same office I went to!! The number one compliment that they all get is that they have the most beautiful smiles!!! Highly recommend. The staff is awesome, they all make you feel like family! Also a great place to take a power nap!

Gilman Orthodontic Associates, the dentists and staff have been an absolute pleasure to deal with over the past couple years for my son's braces. They have very positive attitudes, do very professional work, and they are very personable - sending notes of how well the progress is going along with coupons for Carvel ice cream. I highly recommend using them for a teenager's orthodontic needs.

Both of my daughters had their braces done by Gilman Orthodontics- The best experience from start to finish. They were referred to me by our family Dentist (who sent his children there). Both my daughters teeth look beautiful and this is because they take care of every need and mishap along the way. I highly recommend this office.

Both my boys got their braces at Gilman orthodontics. I took the advice of my dentist who said he wouldn't bring his kids anywhere else but here. I am so glad I listened. From the moment I called to set up the first appointment I felt like I wasn't just a number but more like part of the family now. Absolutely everyone in the practice is Fantastic. Dr. Brian and Dr. Bonnie are so wonderful to work with. They are patient and understanding and explain things to you in full detail so there are no surprises at all. I plan on using them for myself once the kids are all done.

I couldn't have had a better experience with Gilman Orthodontic Associates. My son and my daughter now have beautiful straight teeth, and the journey to here has been incredible. I was recommended to them from my dentist and it was the best decision. The office makes you feel like family, they are professional but keep it very friendly. I have always felt that they truly care and the results are proof enough. Every single staff member has been great, and Gabriela with the many scheduling ordeals was always so pleasant to deal with. I would highly recommend using them.
