I've been seeing Dr. Gilman for many years and I am very thankful for being so lucky to find a dentist who I can trust. With her exclusively acute attention to detail and thorough work, I do not need to worry much about my dental health. I can completely rely on her decisions and be 100% sure that this decision is the best and most reasonable one. It's a big relief to have a doctor who is both professional and friendly.

Dr. Gilman is an awesome dentist! Super efficient, very knowledgeable, and personable. The patient rooms are very relaxing with a large window open to a view of nature. I highly recommend!

I initially felt like I had an okay experience with this dental office but my opinion has changed with time and more thought. When I was at the office I was surprised at how outdated the office was. I was having mouth/jaw pain which needed x-rays. The x-rays they took were very basic and not fully comprehensive. Dr. Gilman herself couldn't definitively say whether my wisdom teeth were the root cause of my pain or not. I found this pretty surprising. She said that they do not have 3D x-rays and that "if she had to guess" she would say that my wisdom teeth could be it. I found this very odd since wasn't that the point of the x-rays? She referred me to an oral surgeon (who ended up being excellent, the best thing that came out of this appointment) who immediately saw my issue on first glance of my x-rays. A big sign of trouble was their inability to file a claim with my insurance. Upon checking in to my appointment I had given my insurance information on my form and also when booking with ZocDoc. I gave them the information one more time so that they could finally get in the claim. A month later I receive a bill from the office stating that I owed money to them when the claim should have been covered in full. Upon calling my insurance company they said that the claim that the office submitted was missing vital details on the service that was performed leading the insurance company to initially decline to payout for the service. They didn't put that I was in major pain which is why I had the x-rays. They stated that they took full x-rays which definitely wasn't clearly communicated at time of service. They made it sound like they took very specific x-rays of both sides of my mouth near my molars to just see the wisdom teeth. To add insult to injury the office tacked on a $50 charge for COVID related PPE. The precautions that they were taken with the basic requirements and nothing extremely special and do not justify the $50 dollar charge that they tried to hand down to me. My insurance company (Delta Dental) said that since they are an in-network provider they aren't allowed to charge for PPE since the insurance company is already paying them extra on billed office visits to help offset the cost. That was the final straw and a troubling practice especially with COVID in mind. Dr. Gilman is very nice and cordial but their office practices on top of the level of care I received lead me to absolutely not recommend this office.

Dr. Gilman is everything you could want in a dentist: personable and funny (important when you're staring into each other's eyes for some time); brave; incredible medical reasoning skill and technical execution. I started having cavities at a young age despite regular flossing and cleaning. By the time I got to Dr. Gilman, I had ground down and cracked all of the fillings in all of my back molars. She made recommendations and walked me through pricing before any procedures began, and we prioritized the procedures filling-by-filling. As the visit continued, she essentially performed major reconstruction on all of my molars using the best techniques and optimized products. She focused on my oral care for over 3 hours (with my permission - she asked me when I had to leave and had me out with 5 minutes to spare even!). In that whole time, she only to take care of her other patients (whose visits were much faster than mine, maybe 5 minutes). I walked out with a wonderful bite that day! She even had me fitted for the bite guard that could have clearly prevented such devastation! 3 weeks later, I came back for another 2 hours of incredibly technical replacement work and bite guard fitting. Again, I walked out with a great bite! I feel so fortunate to have been in the care of such a capable and compassionate dentist and team. She and her lean crew (it was just her, Ana, and Kevin) give their 200% everyday, non-stop. She is the absolute best, and if you're a kind-hearted person looking for a kind-hearted dentist, look no further than Dr. Gilman.

My husband and I have been going to see Dr. Gilman for 4 years. When we moved to South San Jose, we decided that we would continue seeing Dr. Gilman, since she provides great dental care, is honest and has our best interests at heart. In addition, she and her team are all warm and friendly. Going to the dentist is actually a pleasure!

I regularly get compliments on how wonderful my teeth look, and I tell everyone my secret: I've been going to Dr. Gilman for years and recommend her highly. She's very thorough, and answers any question I may have with a great deal of knowledge and experience. Ana and Meghan (her dental assistants) are both amazing to work with as well! Ana is always great at finding a time that fits my crazy schedule, and Meghan cracks me up and makes a cleaning go by quickly. If you are in need of a dentist, check out Dr. Gilman's practice--- you'll thank me!

Dr. Gilman and the team are the best! Honest and transparent. Very gentle and takes things slow. Genuinely cares for the health of your teeth. You can also request your own music choice during the procedure. :-)
