I began my dental career in 2009 as a Registered Dental Assistant. Spending many years in the dental specialty of Periodontics, I continued to further my education earning my Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. At the completion of the Dental Hygiene program, I was honored to receive the Golden Scaler Award, a symbol of Dental Hygiene clinical excellence.
As a child I grew up loving going to the dentist, which lead me to pursue a career in the dental field. My aim as a clinician is to provide excellent clinical care to our patients. Providing a pleasant, thorough experience, I hope to pass my admiration of dental health to others. I have a passion for learning new things and furthering my education and knowledge.
Dr. Sher Himmat S. Gill received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Davis. He then attended the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry where he was awarded his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. After receiving his DDS degree, Dr. Gill spent several years as an associate dentist in a group practice where he performed general dentistry procedures for both children and adults.
In dental school, Dr. Gill participated in a number of externship programs and now continues to pursue hundreds of hours of continuing education in many areas of dentistry to stay current with all the latest advances in dental technology and techniques. He is a certified Invisalign provider.
Dr. Gill regularly participates in community service and outreach programs from CDA Cares and We Serve Day, to a dental mission trip to Fiji. Additionally, Dr. Gill is an active member of many professional dental associations including the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, California Dental Association, and the Sacramento District Dental Society.
When hes not busy serving the community with exceptional dental care, Dr. Gill enjoys traveling, camping, hiking and spending time with his wife and son. Hes also an avid supporter of our local teams - the Sacramento Kings, San Francisco Giants, and San Francisco 49ers.

Since I started coming to Dr. Gil I have had the best experience. I had my Invisalign experience with them and they came out great, I also requested a night guard for teeth grinding issues and it has also helped and no longer suffering with jaw pain! Dr. Gil has all the solutions! Thanks for the great experiences, 100% recommend.

Dr. Gill and his wonderful staff provide excellent dental care in a friendly and clean office. Dr. Gill is very kind, knowledgeable, and caring towards his patients. Rosy in the front office is quick to respond to scheduling requests, and the hygienists are friendly and gentle. I remember the time I needed a filling for a cracked tooth and being super nervous. Dr. Gill and his staff were amazing throughout the whole procedure. I highly recommend Dr. Gill to you and your family!

I hadn't been to a dentist for many years but was forced to call Dr. Gill's office due to a terrible toothache. Unfortunately I needed a root canal but Dr Gill made it a relatively painless process. I have been back several times since and have had a great experience every time. Everyone here is very friendly and professional. If you are looking for a dental office I would recommend Gill Dental.

Absolutely the WORST DENTAL EXPERIENCE NIGHTMARE that I've ever been through! And I have had many extractions and various dental procedures performed in my life. So, I am not new to dental problems. I went to this dentist years ago when he first started working at this location. Yet, this terrible experience still vividly stands out in my mind!! Upon arriving, I was asked to pay for my tooth extraction in advance...before they actually removed my tooth and before they would even know how difficult of an extraction it was going to be. I payed them (in cash) & I was charged the maximum amount that they listed for the most difficult type of tooth extraction. I was given the local numbing injections. A short while later, they told me they were ready to begin. But, I told them that my mouth was not numb enough yet. The dentist and the gal helping him both assured me that they would stop my extraction, if at any time I let them know that I felt too much pain to continue. So, I agreed to let them start working on my mouth. Shortly into the extraction process, the pain became absolutely unbearable. Yet, despite my hand gestures and noises I made to signal my obvious discomfort, the dentist CONTINUED WORKING, for at least another 4 minutes. 4 minutes too long!! By the time he finally stopped torturing me, I was COMPLETELY FREAKING OUT. I was visibly shaken, hyperventilating and having a full blown anxiety attack!! I sat up, grabbed my phone and my keys and tried to catch my breath a minute, before attempting to leave the building. I didn't want to be ANYWHERE NEAR THIS DENTIST, ANY LONGER! They actually had the audacity to try to tell me, that I wasn't allowed to leave, because my anxiety attack ( that they had caused me to have,) temporarily rendered me unable to drive. I told them that I lived close enough, that I would have simply crawled home, if necessary. AND THEY WERE NOT GOING TO STOP ME FROM LEAVING! So, they gave up trying to keep me there. After I got home, I started thinking about how they had charged me the maximum price for my tooth extraction, even though they ended up only removing part of my tooth. So, I called them and requested a partial refund. They finally agreed to it once I informed them that I would NEVER, EVER be returning to their dental chair! Avoid any future PTSD issues and go elsewhere for your dental care. UPDATE: I recently read the dentist's reply to my one star review. And I am truly shocked to see that his only response was to basically say he didn't know me and didn't know why I had posted my review. I absolutely told the truth about my experience at his office. I could have mustered up just a little bit of respect for him if he had gone a more professional route and simply apologized for the experience I'd had, while getting my extraction done years ago. But, after such a dishonest reply from him, sadly, I have come to the conclusion that professionalism is just not one of his strong points.
