Dr. Danny Gilchrist D.D.S. began his studies at Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin. He graduated number one in his class with a perfect accumulated grade point average of 4.0. He was accepted to the University of Minnesota and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1985, graduating with distinction in the top ten of his class.
Dr. Gilchrist moved to central Wisconsin in January 1986 and practiced as an associate in dental clinics in Plover, Wisconsin Rapids, Friendship and Auburndale. In December 1986, he had the opportunity to take over a practice from a retiring dentist, Dr. Art Fahrner. Steady business growth necessitated a move to the practice's current location, 2964 Church Street, in 1996.
Dr. Gilchrist continues to enhance his skills with continuing education and the introduction of new technologies into the practice. He is involved in various community projects and activities. He has participated in health fairs and donated his time and services to various nonprofit organizations in the Stevens Point area.
Currently, Dr. Gilchrist is a member of the ADA (American Dental Association), WDA (Wisconsin Dental Association), CWDA (Central Wisconsin Dental Association) and the PCDA (Portage County Dental Society).
Our Dental Hygienist since 1996, Stacy Roman RDH, completed her dental hygiene education at Northcentral Technical College in Wausau, Wisconsin graduating number one in her class. Prior to obtaining her RDH degree, Stacy earned a Dental Assisting Degree at Fox Valley Technical College which allowed her to obtain 5 years dental assisting experience while she completed her RDH degree. Stacy believes in working for a prevention oriented practice by continually educating herself as well as educating her patients to prevent oral hygiene issues. Stacy believes that being a successful clinician is not a matter of chance, but rather a matter of choice.

My wife and I both see Dr. Gilchrist; he does excellent work, and is very personable; even his staff, who are also very qualified, have mentioned that he is great to work with. We feel very fortunate to have a dentist of his caliber. Glenn and Karen

Dr. Gilchrist did the bare minimum on my teeth and neglected my teeth for decades. I switched to a better dentist. My teeth are white now and I haved had 6 appointments for 2 months to fix all the neglect in my teeth. Dr. Gilchrist is not friendly either.

While looking for a dentist for a family member who on state health insurance, this provider came up as an option for in network coverage. The family member is in pain to the point of tears and needs to be seen urgently, so I was looking for someone urgently. I called Gilchrist Dental and they were able to book an urgent opening for the very next morning. We got to the booking of the appointment and suddenly, the tune changed. They had an opening - but not someone with *state* insurance. No no, their openings were for people with 'other' insurance (premium needs) and not for the low-income folks that they claim to service. New patients were right out - no matter how much the need. Perhaps this is an excellent dentist if you're paying out of pocket or with some flashy insurance that brings in the money; but for those who can't, you're out of luck.

I'm Lore Nowlin, and am a patient of Dr. Gilchrist. I have had a very good experience with Dr. Gilchrist. My daughter went to another dentist for an extraction. The other dentist completely botched the procedure, left pieces of tooth in there, it was becoming infected, and Dr. Gilchrist gave her an emergency appointment, and fixed everything. His cosmetic dentistry is really good. I have composites on my lower teeth which cover the exposed roots on my front teeth. It is impossible to tell that I have these on my teeth. It looks like a natural part of the tooth. The entire staff is extremely friendly and remembers my name. The dental hygienists give the gentlest teeth cleanings. A great deal of care is given to make it a pleasant experience. He is a very conscientious dentist, and doesn't recommend unnecessary procedures. I have been very pleased with Dr. Gilchrist.
