A third-generation dentist, Dr. Gilbert pursued a career in dentistry after watching his grandfather and dad develop special bonds with their patients in Greenville and the surrounding Upstate South Carolina communities. It is these authentic relationships with patients that Dr. Gilbert believes are so important to providing excellent care.
His passion for dentistry began when he required jaw surgery in his twenties. Seeing the partnership between his dentist (his dad!) and specialists to take care of his needs exposed him to a potential career in dental. His passion now is educating patients and making them feel at ease coming to the dentist.
Dr. Gilbert has spent thousands of hours continuing to learn new ways to improve both clinical results and patient comfort for the people of Greenville. His thirst to never stop learning has set a standard of excellence and is contagious to the entire team at Gilbert Dental Group. I received a thorough explanation of my dental situation and a good recommendation for an oral surgeon. On a second visit, the staff was very courteous and helpful. Since I lived very near, I was able to avail myself of an opening for an emergency procedure immediately. Dr. Gilbert made what I felt was a good determination of the decay on a front tooth that had been crowned for over 50 years and offered me the option of saving this healthy tooth by installing a new crown, only needing some removal of decay for which I was able to see him on the next working day.
