I remember the exact day that I discovered I wanted to be a dentist. I was sitting in the dental chair in 8th grade, looking around the room and noted the materials, the attention to detail, and the care that the dentist and the team took with my treatment. I remember thinking, 'I really like it here. I think I could do this!' From that moment forward, I dedicated all of my efforts to going to dental school so that I could combine my love of science and art into a career that would allow me to make a difference.

I attended the University of Alabama, where I completed my bachelor's and master's degrees and went on to get my Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree at the University of Alabama Birmingham. I completed a residency in Advanced General Dentistry (AEGD) at UAB Hospital, which allowed me to gain experience in complete smile rehabilitation, dental implants, and how to treat patients with complex medical histories. I love what I do, and I love making people smile!

I am married to Kevin (Dr. David Gibson's son), and we have two wonderful little girls, Amelia and Sutton. If I have any spare timelet's be real, there are not a lot of that these days!I like to paint, cook, and play pretend that I am a Disney Princess with my girls.

Hello, I'm Dr. Elizabeth Pickering, but you can call me Dr. P! I am a general dentist who aims to help patients understand their treatment choices and feel comfortable during their dental procedures.I graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with Honors. I then earned my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the UAB School of Dentistry.I graduated from dental school in May 2020 and began working at Gibson Family Dentistry in June 2020.

I love seeing a patient's excitement after finishing a procedurewhether it's just one step closer on their journey to achieving their smile goals or the big unveiling of their new smile.In my spare time, my husband Andrew and I love to go on walks and play with our golden retriever, Murphy.

My dental career began over 20 years ago when I worked as a dental assistant in Arab, Alabama. In the fall of 2005, I joined Dr. David Gibson's dental practice as a full time dental assistant, and I still love working for the Gibson family and in the dental field as much as when I first started. One of my favorite things about Gibson Family Dentistry is to watch a patient's smile transform into something beautiful. Our patients start to become like family, and I look forward to seeing them every six months!

When Im not working, I love spending time with my husband on date nights with our friends, watching Sloan play baseball, dinner dates to Mexican with Camden, going to the beach, cooking and sitting outside on my back porch at our new home!

As a dental assistant, I strive to make sure each patient has the best overall care so they can leave our office with a healthier smile.Trained at Auburn Dental Spa and Phlebotomy Ink,I began working in dentistry in 2014, and I joined the Gibson Family Dentistry team in 2018. Listening to patients and caring for their individual needs is important to me as a dental assistant. Its a joy to meet new people, welcome them to our dental family, and get their mouth healthy again.I love making our patients smile! Its not just a job for me. Dentistry is my passion, and it's very rewarding.

I spend my spare time with my fianc Kyle, and my two girls Jaliin and Maylee, as well as my bonus girls Kyleigh and Paylen. We are normally out and about at the softball fields or watching pageants. Any other time, you will find me with my nose stuck in a book.

As a dental hygienist, I help my patients maintain their overall oral health through education and preventive treatments. I trained as a hygienist at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and Ive been working in the dental field since 2005. I have been a part of the Gibson Family Dentistry family since 2017, and I enjoy making personal connections with our patients. In my spare time, I enjoy playing golf, hunting, and spending time with my family.

As the scheduling coordinator, I ensure our patients receive timely and efficient services from our team members, as well as provide quality customer service. I began my career in the dental field in 2011, and I have been working for Dr. Gibson since September of 2020.One of the most rewarding aspects of working in the dental field is the personal connections Ive made and witnessing patients smile and self-esteem improve. Helping others is my passion, and Im grateful that I get to contribute to making our patients dental experience a positive one. In my spare time, I love traveling with my family and sharing new experiences and adventures. We always have a great time together!

As a dental hygienist, I clean patients teeth and educate them on how to best care for their oral health through homecare and preventive options. A graduate of the Alabama Dental Hygiene Program, I entered the dental field in 2001 and joined Gibson Family Dentistry in 2019. I love the work I do, and nothing quite compares to the excitement of a smile makeover. Making personal connections with patients and celebrating improvements in their oral health are also very rewarding. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family.

My job as a dental assistant is to help Drs.Gibsonand Pickering perfect each patient's smile. Trained atJefferson State Dental Assistant school,I've been working as a dental assistant since 2017, and I joined the Gibson Family Dentistry team in October 2020. It's my goal to make sure each patient is comfortable during procedures, x-rays, and restorations. I love helping patients rediscover their smile and making their mouth healthy again.On my off days, I spend time with my family, my dogs, tend to my chickens, and enjoy watching my plants grow into beauties!
