Dr. Yuly Gertsberg D.D.S. has nearly four decades of clinical and professional experience in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He began his training and career in the former Soviet Union when he graduated from the Moscow Medical Stomatology Institute in 1972.

After graduating, he entered and successfully completed a maxillofacial residency program and for the next seventeen years worked as an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon in Uzbekistan. Dr. Gertsberg was the Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department for twelve of those seventeen years. During that time, Dr. Gertsberg also successfully completed fellowships in plastic and cosmetic surgery.

Upon arrival to the United States, Dr. Gertsberg graduated from New York University School of Dentistry in 1993, earning the prestigious Bernard E. Rudner Memorial Award. Immediately after graduating from NYU, Dr. Gertsberg entered the residency program at Metropolitan Hospital Center, New York Medical College, where he served as the Chief Resident for two successive years.

At the end of Dr. Gertsbergs residency program, the New York Medical College, recognizing his professionalism and commitment to teaching, invited him to remain on the teaching staff, where he serves to the present day, as the Clinical AssistantProfessor.

As an Clinical AssistantProfessor, he teaches and supervises surgical residents surgical and theoretical skills of various aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery as well as patient education, patient management and treatment planning.

Throughout his career, Dr. Gertsbergs commitment to patients has earned him multiple recognitions and awards, including the prestigious The Order of the Badge of Honor for his achievement and commitment to science and labor by the former Soviet Union. Most recently, as part of the Metropolitan Humanitarian mission, he went to the Dominican Republic, Dr. Toribio Bencosme Hospital, to perform surgeries on children with cleft lip and palate problems.
