Welcome to Georgia Microendodontics! Were so thrilled that you are entrusting us with your care. Here, we will highlight some important information about our practice and explain what patients can expect during their first visit.

At Georgia Microendodontics, we want your entire experience with us to be relaxed and comfortable. We believe that patients are an integral part of the treatment planning process. Thats why we provide clear and transparent communication throughout every step.

Your general dentist is the doctor you see on a routine basis for exams, cleanings, restorative, and cosmetic care. An endodontist is a specialist who has completed additional education and training in their field.

Most general dentists refer out to an endodontic specialist when necessary, so their patients can receive the comprehensive care they deserve. Endodontists routinely perform root canal treatments and other endodontic procedures. Because they have specialized training, endodontists provide efficient, accurate care.

  • Nitrous oxide: Also called laughing gas, nitrous oxide is inhaled through a small nosepiece. The effects are felt within minutes. Patients are still aware of their surroundings but are much more relaxed and carefree. Following treatment, your doctor administers an oxygen flush to eliminate the sedative from your system. Patients who choose nitrous oxide can drive themselves to and from our office.
  • Oral conscious sedation: This sedative is administered in pill form approximately one hour prior to your endodontic procedure. The medication induces relaxation and drowsiness. While many individuals sleep through the procedure, they are still able to communicate with their doctor when necessary. Patients who choose this type of sedation will need to be driven to and from our office by a responsible friend or family member.
  • Our endodontists use the latest, most advanced technology for accurate treatment. At our Marietta, GA practice, we use microscopes, fiber optics, ultrasonic instrumentation, and more so that our patients can receive the highest level of care possible.

Georgia Microendodontics is one of the few practices in the state to use the GentleWave Procedure. This method is a less-invasive alternative to traditional root canal therapy that results in a more comfortable recovery.

If bacteria reaches the pulp of a tooth, root canal therapy is necessary to save it from extraction. This procedure involves the removal of nerves, tissues, and blood vessels inside the tooth, treating infection at its source.

Georgia Microendodontics is one of the few practices in the state offering GentleWave a more advanced, less invasive alternative to traditional root canal therapy. This technology utilizes advanced multisonic cleaning, which disinfects hard-to-reach areas for optimal results and a more comfortable recovery.

Most root canal treatments are highly successful and keep your tooth symptom-free for many years to come. However, it is estimated that around five percent of patients experience root canal failure. At Georgia Microendodontics, our doctors can perform a retreatment to remove the previous filling material, disinfect the canals, and refill them.

The hard, outer layer of your teeth is made up of enamel and dentin. Unlike your bones, fractured teeth cannot heal themselves. Cracks in teeth can be complex and vary greatly when it comes to size, location, and depth. The doctors at Georgia Microendodontics offer a wide range of treatments for cracked teeth.

Dental trauma or past root canal treatment can lead to permanent discoloration. Because these stains are deep inside the teeth, they typically do not respond to whitening. Internal tooth bleaching whitens the teeth from the inside out, enhancing the appearance of your smile.
