Dentistry has allowed me to touch many lives. Helping to ease a patients pain and being able to help them smile again is truly a joy. Every case we deal with has a person behind it and getting to know them is special. Everyone has a story to tell and knowledge to share and receiving this information brings me joy and fulfillment.Dr. Hallstead
Dr. Geoffry Hallstead began practicing general dentistry 30 years ago, though his history with the dental field goes back to his childhood. The son of a dentist, Dr. Hallstead grew up witnessing the difference his father made in his patients lives each and every day. Seeing dentistry as an opportunity to continue helping people live better lives, Dr. Hallstead chose to follow in his fathers footsteps.
Dr. Hallstead began his formal education at St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY. He completed his Doctorate of Dental Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry. Returning to Canandaigua in 1988, he assumed the helm of his fathers dental practice, which was established in 1957.
To continue his education, Dr. Hallstead has completed many hours of continuing education at the Kois Center, an organization committed to the advancement of dentistry through science. His advanced knowledge and training allows his patients to receive better treatment and a more enjoyable dental experience.
A native of Canandaigua, Dr. Hallstead has been pleased to grow his practice and raise his family in such a wonderful community. He and his wife, Jane, have two children, Ricky and Serica. Dr. Hallstead enjoys spending his free time with his family and has many interests, including driving a horse and carriage, gardening and beekeeping. He is actively involved with Blue Star Mothers (a veteran outreach program), Lions Club, and Cheshire Community Action Team.
I have sensitivity due to receding gums and had to have a cavity filled right at the gum line where it is most sensitive. Even though Ive been coming here forever I was anxious about it. Everything went smoothly and pain-free.
As a first time patient I found everyone from office to dental chair efficient, courteous, and professional. Help with type of payment to what needed to be done with cleaning, my gums and the need to follow up with an oral surgeon. I am very pleased.
We recognize that all of our patients are unique and deserve to receive dental care that reflects their individual needs. Our experienced and talented dental team is committed to working with you and your family to create a comfortable, stress-free, and rewarding dental experience every time you visit our practice. We are pleased to welcome you and your family, and we look forward to working with you.
I began working with Dr. Hallstead 25 years ago. As our financial coordinator, I meet with all our new patients and go over their financial plan, insurance and payments. Since we believe that everyone deserves a healthy smile, we work with patients budgets to meet all their dental needs. When Im not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband, children and grandchildren.
I feel privileged to be able to work with a group of people who are truly dedicated to helping others achieve healthy and beautiful smiles. I graduated from Monroe Community College in 1997 with a degree in Dental Hygiene. I am very passionate about the profession of dentistry and providing comprehensive, individualized care to every patient. I am also committed to professional growth and development, and to sharing my knowledge with patients in order to help them achieve optimal oral health. Its such a joy to get to know each individual and build trusting relationships. I recently moved to Canandaigua and I am embracing the beautiful Finger Lakes Region. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my two daughters, Leah and Anna.
Growing up in a dental home it was an easy decision to become a dental hygienist. I attended Erie Community College and my first job was with my Dad. I joined Dr Geoffs team in December 2020. It is a privilege to be in a practice where I can help a person understand and achieve a healthy mouth and smile. A healthy mouth is so important for a persons overall health and it is a joy to help patients reach that goal. I love coming to work each day and being part of making that happen. When not at work I enjoy sewing and my family-though my kids would say its the grandkids not them!
From the time I was a very young girl I have been passionate about dentistry and oral health. I feel that it is important for the patient to have an understanding of procedures and to ensure that they are educated about their own oral health. I went to school in Pennsylvania where I earned a Bachelors degree in Environmental Science at Allegheny College and continued my education at Great Lakes School of Technology for my Dental Assisting Certification. I began working for Dr. Hallstead in April of 2021, Dr. Hallstead is exceptional at educating his patients and taking the time to get to know them and help them to fully understand any treatment that is best for them.
I love exploring the Fingerlakes and I often spend my free time outside, I love to hike and discover new spots to hang up my hammock. I have two cats, named Dill and Ryder, and they sometimes come on my adventures on a leash.
I have had the pleasure of working for Dr. Geoff for over 14 years. I joined the team as a part time bookkeeper in 2006 and in 2012 was given the opportunity to expand my role to include administrative support to Colleen and personal assistant to Dr. Geoff. In 2017 my duties increased to include support to the clinical team. Learning to help in the clinic has really help me better understand the function of the back office and has been rewarding by allowing me to get to know our patients. When not in the office I enjoy spending time with my husband and my two daughters and I love to travel when the opportunity comes along!
