Ever since our launch in 1987, Gentry Dentistry of Suwanee set about to offer something truly special. We found the ideal spot in the community to base our office, built a stellar team of caring individuals focused on continuing education and technology to offer the best to our clients and went about the business of providing the highest quality care to every patient who climbed into our chair. The result is nothing short of spectacular.
Our patients have helped us build our practice to what it is today whether through referrals of friends, neighbors and co-workers or growing along with us by adding family members at times up to THREE and FOUR generations. We are truly honored to be a part of a practice AND a community that continues to grow. And because many of our staff members are more like family members several of whom have been with us since the start, our patients appreciate the relaxing setting and friendly banter from recognizable faces paired with quality work delivered quickly beautifully reimagining the once dreaded concept of a trip to the dentist.
Armed with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee, Dr. Harry Gentry first hung out his shingle in the burgeoning City of Suwanee in 1987 two years after the first traffic light was installed within city limits. In all the years since, his practice has grown steadily alongside the surrounding community. Often described as gentle, kind and trustworthy, Harry got his first inkling that he wanted to be a dentist in the 8th grade when tasked with writing a paper about his future. His research revealed the perfect marriage between his love of working with his hands and his love of working with people. Today, he finds the most rewarding aspects of his career are the relationships he has fostered with both his patients and his staff. At the end of every day, he hopes his patients feel they received excellent treatment and were well cared for. Even after more than 30 years in practice, he continues his education in all branches of dentistry. His work ethic and standard of care is on a level that keeps patients coming back and spreading the word about our practice.
Following in the mammoth footsteps of her father, Dr. Darby Gentry Tompkins represents an up-and-coming generation at Gentry Dentistry of Suwanee, and also received her DDS from the University of Tennessee. Inspired by Harrys longtime love with his job and his patients, she was also drawn to the profession by the medical aspect and the hand skills required to be a dentist. She feels it is a job that affords her the opportunity to serve people anywhere in a tangible way. Darby finds the rewards that come from making someone feel better by improving their oral health and restoring their mouth to normal form and function or even improving the aesthetics of someones smile are indescribable. She hopes that when a patient leaves her chair, they feel as though they received quality dental work from someone who not only cares about their oral health, but also about them as a person. She feels incredibly fortunate to serve patients in the community where she grew up and helping them achieve smiles that they love. When shes not in the office, Darby can be found outdoors playing golf (she is an assistant golf coach at Buford High School), kayaking, hiking, camping, rock climbing or off on a dental mission trip to Central and South America.

I recently visited Gentry Denistry with a dental emergency. I called them and they asked how quick can you be here. This is the second time I have had this wonderful experience. The staff and dentists are amazing and they really care about you and your well-being. My husband and I both switched over to them from our corporate dentist and we have been satisfied with how caring and wonderful their service is. Also for their honestly. I highly recommend Gentry Denistry for anyone looking for a new dentist.

Had an appointment with Dr Darby and Valerie today and it was the most pleasant dentist visit I've ever had for a semi major procedure. Great job ladies!!! Will see you again in January....keep up the good work!! I remember when drills were turned by pulleys and turned at about 24 rpms and what was novacane?!...it was like a turn on the rack as in the Princess Bride movie...it sure is much more pleasant these days.

I would just like to say how important Dr Gentry was to me the other day he was so kind and he is such a talented dentist we have known him for a long long time when I got to your dentist office the other day I was in tears I had left another doctor's office and I was very upset but I could not believe how much he cares about his patients all of his patients thank you Dr Gentry and your staff I will be back just as soon as I can by the way I know you stand behind your work and we were fantastically surprised how much time you spent with me after I saw my CT scans up on the screen and you explained everything to me I understood why I've been in so much pain I will be in touch with your office thank you so much and I'll send it

I didn't know how easy it could be. No more hassles, or need for over spending! My "second opinion" dentist will be my dentist for sure! I just completed another visit of figuring out the bite once again, and the team is super patient and nice. I really appreciate the care in which Dr. Darby works toward making things just right.

Just love Dr. Gentry-his focus is on you! He is an exceptional dentist, and uses all the latest dentistry techniques, state of the art facilit, In all my experiences with dentists over the years, Dr. Gentry is the best and does amazing crown work--the best. That has been important to me--so I'm extremely satisfied. Gotta love Dr. Gentry's staff too. They are professional, friendly, kind, engaging--and they always, always, make me feel welcome and comfortable. Top notch customer service. Everyone is professional and responsive and caring. Im not just a patient--they don't have to look at a chart to know who I am. They call me by name. That's comforting. I've been a patient for the last 17 years--and won"t consider changing--Dr. Gentry and his staff are just that good and I drive a distance for my appointments. Dr. Gentry works with you, based on your needs and what you are comfortable with-- best dentist ever!!!!

Have been coming here since 1996. Both Dr. Gentrys do a great job. I had an emergency and went to Shadowbrook Dental. Dr Gentry repaired the damage that Shadowbrook Dental did,and had refused to correct it. Will use who they recommend from now on.

I'm really grateful to have met Darby and Johnny at our Community at Phoenix; she ended up becoming my dentist when I left one previous, I discovered her wonderfully honest and straight-forward manner, very caring and professional, and with no drama! :) Also, I find that their staff is all so friendly and accommodating...they gladly worked things out with me...praise GOD the entire experience is quite refreshing!

Friendly and helpful staff, value patients time, ease of appointment setting, cdc compliant. One thing I would change is around sustainable bags. Please use paper bags for samples given at the end of the visit. Thank you.

I'm 42yrs old and deathly afraid of the dentist. This place is amazing! I needed implants amongst other things and while I'm not completely done, the confidence this office gave me to smile again was really life changing. I cannot explain enough to you guys the position my teeth were in. In two visits, I'm back smiling and painless. I cannot thank Dr. Gentry enough and his staff. I have been a patient of Dr. Gentry's since he opened. We left for a short period after moving but started going back within a year of leaving. His work is the best and they go above and beyond to make their patients comfortable.
