Dr. Lana continued at NYU and Bellevue Hospital for her pediatric dental specialty training in Manhattan, New York. During her residency, she was given the opportunity to participate in community outreach for the underserved population in Poughkeepsie, New York.

Dr. Lana is diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and an active member of the College of Diplomates, where she attends continuing education courses focused on keeping up-to-date with the latest innovations in pediatric dentistry. Her focus is on education and preventive pediatric dentistry, and minimally invasive options for treatment such as silver diamine fluoride, which can help treat some cavities without traditional 'drilling' of the baby teeth. Her youtube channel has great videos for parent education as well as videos to help prepare children for going to the dentist, as well as kid friendly videos on topics such as 'when will my baby teeth fall out?' and 'how does a cavity form?'.

The team at Gentle Touch Dental Care believe in the importance of preventative care. We focus on keeping patients in good oral health so that they can live a full, healthy, and enjoyable life that is free from oral pain. This starts by educating our patients on what they can do to stay healthy at home. In our family dentist office we recommend that patients eat a healthy diet that consists of green leafy vegetables, lean protein, nuts, dairy products, and crunchy fruits and veggies. Eating these foods along with drinking water can help to keep teeth healthy and make them stronger. By simultaneously reducing sugar intake, patients can also reduce their risk of cavities.

It is also important to brush and floss throughout the day. Instead of waiting for bedtime to brush teeth, carry a small toothbrush and use it after meals and snacks. This makes it possible to remove sugar and bacteria from the teeth and gums before it has the opportunity to turn into acid that can attack the teeth. This preventative step can greatly reduce a persons' risk of getting a cavity or gum disease. We understand the importance of taking these steps at home and will spend the time necessary to educate and inform patients so that they can stay healthy overall. Education, after all, is essential for living a long and healthy life.

Understanding the importance of these regular dental exams, the team at Gentle Touch Dental Care work to make each patient extremely comfortable. This includes being welcoming and kind while performing dental treatments in a way that is painless and relaxing. Patients visit our dentist office because they trust us to do just that take care of their teeth and gums, gently. The majority of our patients are local and come from the greater Forest Hills area, we also see patients that are looking for gentle dental care.

Seniors, on the other hand, often struggle with gum disease and oral infections. As people age, their teeth can become weaker and infected more easily. Bone loss is incredibly common with seniors and by conducting regular dental exams, the team at Gentle Touch Dental Care can help seniors to have strong teeth and reduce the risk of them falling out. Since over seventy percent of U.S. adults suffer from tooth loss, preventative care is important.

A. Primary, or 'baby,' teeth are important for many reasons. Not only do they help children speak clearly and chew naturally, they also aid in forming a path that permanent teeth can follow when they are ready to come in.

A. First, rinse the irritated area with warm salt water and place a cold compress on the face if it is swollen. Give the child acetaminophen for any pain, rather than placing aspirin on the teeth or gums. Finally, see a dentist as soon as possible.

A. Sealants work by filling in the crevasses on the chewing surfaces of the teeth. This shuts out food particles that could get caught in the teeth, causing cavities. The application is fast and comfortable and can effectively protect teeth for many years.

A. Have your family dentist evaluate the fluoride level of your child's primary source of drinking water. If your child is not getting enough fluoride internally through water (especially if the fluoride level is deficient or if your child drinks bottled water without fluoride), then we may prescribe fluoride supplements.

A. Soft plastic mouthguards can be used to protect teeth, lips, cheeks and gums from sport related injuries. A custom-fitted mouthguard will protect your teeth from injuries and even provide protection from severe injuries to the head.

A. There is very little risk in dental X-rays. Family dentists are especially careful to limit the amount of radiation to which you and your family are exposed. Lead aprons and high-speed film are used to ensure safety and minimize the amount of radiation. Digital x-rays provide an even greater level of protection by using up to 90 percent less radiation.

While it is always a good idea to have an emergency dentist on call, individuals can avoid a dental emergency and all the pain, cost and hassle that comes with one by taking preventative measures. In many cases, this simply entails adopting healthy lifestyle habits.Dental emergencies, which range from toothache to fractured teeth to abscesses,

For many people hoping to have a brighter smile, professional teeth whitening is a healthy option. In-office visits use bleaching agents to achieve lighter and faster results than over-the-counter treatments. However, this use of more potent agents means patients should consider their current dental history before deciding on professional whitening treatments. It is important to weigh

There are some cases where a stained or chipped tooth can be fixed with dental bonding or contouring. While these issues can be more severe and so require a different solution, something like an uneven edge or unsightly spot can often be treated without more invasive procedures that can affect the entire mouth. This procedure enhances

Appearance is not the only benefit of wearing Invisalign for straighter teeth, since straighter teeth can also benefit one's oral health. In fact crooked teeth can trap food between them and lead to infection or bite issues. At Gentle Touch Dental Care, we offer Invisalign as a treatment for patients interested in discreetly straightening their teeth.

Invisalign is a series of clear aligner trays that cover the teeth, similar to a retainer or mouth guard, but are much more discreet. At least every two weeks or so, the patient will switch to the next set in the series of Invisalign trays. With the custom aligners for each patient, Invisalign will gradually push the teeth into the right position without causing significant amounts of pain.

After creating the trays, we will then meet with the patient to ensure that they fit and that the patient understands all of the steps in the straightening process. It is important that the patient understand a few key factors about wearing Invisalign on a regular basis.

While the patient can remove Invisalign trays when necessary, the patient will want to keep them in as much as possible. The longer the patient does not wear the trays for, the longer the entire process will take. Patients need to remove the aligner trays when eating and to brush the teeth.

Patients can also remove the aligner trays to play in a sports game, give a presentation, go on a date, or while taking a photo. It is important to at least rinse the mouth after eating to keep food from getting caught in the teeth.

The patient will be able to continue through each aligner tray and follow a schedule with no surprises. By following the schedule, the patient's teeth will continue to move into the proper position without pain.

While wearing Invisalign, patients will not have to brush and floss between brackets with difficulty. In fact, the patient will be able to brush and floss as normal by just removing the aligner trays. However, it is crucial that the patient brush after each meal to keep food from sticking between the teeth.

Food that is stuck in the teeth can also damage the aligners. It is important that patients do not wear the aligners while drinking soda or other beverages while wearing Invisalign aligners. We recommend that patients only keep the aligners in when drinking water.

We customize the Invisalign aligners to fit the patient's teeth and then use programming technology to digitally map out the projected rate of movement for the patient. We will then build the rest of the clear aligners in the series. Each new set of aligners will be a bit closer to the correct position for straight teeth.

With a customized straightening treatment, patients do not need to worry about the aligners falling out or being loose. Since there is no one-size-fits-all treatment, we make sure that the trays are the right fit for each patient.

Invisalign aligner trays are nearly invisible to the point that few people will notice them unless the individual mentions wearing them. Patients will not have to feel embarrassed by wearing traditional metal braces or a mess of wires in their mouth on a regular basis. Invisalign allows for the patient to receive the straight smile they desire without the maintenance of going through braces treatment.

When it comes to straightening crooked teeth, Invisalign for teens is an excellent option for many families. This system is appealing due to its numerous benefits:Shorter treatment timelinesDiscreet appearanceLess discomfortFewer dietary restrictionsAs with any type of alignment system, teenagers need guidance when managing the new responsibility of wearing and caring for Invisalign trays. Update as of 9/19/22: I still stand by what I said below. I've never been more content with a doctor/dentist office before. EVERYONE is so welcoming and makes you feel so comfortable. I temporarily am off my husband's insurance and Dr.B worked with me to get my cavity filled at an affordable cost. Dr.B's assistant is so sweet and the front staff are all so friendly and cheerful. Can't forget about the hygienist who always makes small talk to lighten the mood. Love this place and so happy to be a patient here!! :) Gentle Touch Dental Care is absolutely amazing! Dr.B is so patient and kind and listens to you! He absolutely cares about his patients and makes sure that you are satisfied before you leave. The front office staff is amazing and makes sure to get you in for a convenient time that works for you, as well as the hygienist does such a great job making sure that your teeth get a really good cleaning! I highly recommend this place if you're searching for a new dentist!!

I started treatment with Gentle Touch Dental Care approximately 3 years ago and my experience has been nothing but great! Dr. Daniels, the hygienist and his complete staff are exceptional great people. They make you feel relaxed and welcome when you first enter the door. Sitting in a dentist chair has not been one of my favorite doctors visit, but Dr. Daniels makes sure that you're comfortable and pain free as possible. He definitely rates an A in my book and now he's my family dentist.

Dr. Dan is terrific, thorough and trustworthy. I had pain in my mouth and teeth, assuming it was a tooth problem. After an exam and X-rays, Dr. Dan felt around my face, eyes, cheek bones, ears and advised that this was probably an infected sinus problem. (There was pain there that I had been ignoring.) So, I went to a walk-in clinic the next day since my doctor was away; and voila, I have sinusitis. The Gentle Dental office is bright, clean, open, top notch. You'll feel very comfortable there. Staff is kind and caring. I can't wait to go back for teeth cleaning. I've been recommending Dr. Dan to everyone.

This is the best dental practice I've ever been to and honestly I have visited quite a few! The staff here are friendly and very welcoming. Scheduling appointments are so easy. The office is super clean and modern. I usually dread going to the dentist even for a routine check up so I was extremely nervous when I had to come in for wisdom teeth extractions but Dr. Daniel is amazing. He took his time explaining the procedure, and made sure that I was comfortable. They also have an excellent pediatric dentist. I took my 3 yr old son here for a cleaning and tooth extraction a couple of months ago- the whole process was seamless! I'm so happy we found this place and highly recommend it.

I changed dental practices because my previous dentist no longer accepted the dental discount plans and I don't believe in the dental insurance plans that have a maximum coverage of $1000-1500 a year. That covers 2 prophylaxis and cleanings per year and 1/2 of a crown, then you are on your own. My previous dentist said he would honor the plan but did not. I am so glad we switched to Gentle touch Dental care. The office has easy access even for a person with disabilities. The office is clean and the waiting room is decorated like a home rather than an office. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. My cleaning and check-up was one of the best I've ever had. I look forward to my next office visit.

(Translated by Google) I was treated by Dr. Daniel in Bedzanov at the gentle touch clinic due to a fall and loss of a crown while traveling to the US (emergency). He treated me in a very dedicated way. Gentle, professional, see that he cares. Charge a very fair price. I have not come across such a dedicated doctor, neither in Israel nor in the rest of the world. Highly recommended to everyone! To all Israelis and Jews in New York, he also speaks Hebrew. Just got back from an appt w my kids with Dr. Lana Musheyev, she was efficient, thorough and patient. The staff was fantastic. They were kind and patient, especially considering the ages of my kids, one of whom was extremely anxious about going to the dentist. They allowed us all to be in the same room together so I didn't have to run between the kid seeing the dentist and the kids in the waiting room. They even let the kids choose a TV show in the room. They were very accommodating, friendly, and best of all they saw us right when we came in which makes all the difference when waiting with kids. My kids had a positive experience. Left with toothbrushes, toothpaste, and stickers... I will definitely be visiting again.
