Dr. Timothy Wachuta is a licensed dentist and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Baylor College of Dentistry after gaining his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Dr. Wachuta is originally from Wisconsin, but has made Colorado his home. Dr. Wachuta has accomplished all aspects of general dentistry, including preventative, restorative, surgical techniques, implant crowns and is certified in orthodontics. He has been practicing dentistry in the Denver area for over 23 years. In this capacity, Dr. Wachuta has built a reputation of quality care, with a positive, caring attitude for his patients and staff.
Dr. Wachuta is a member of the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, Metro Denver Dental society and the Clinical Foundation of Orthopedics and Orthodontics. He has volunteered and contributed to the KIND Association serving Colorado's children in need of dentistry and makes several donations to Project Cure.
Dr. Wachuta enjoys skiing, fishing, canoeing and spending time with his son, Christopher, and his twin daughters, Sabrina and Brooke. He recently raced in Maui, Hawaii, at the World Championship Xterra off-road Triathlon, and in 2000, he was part of a world champion team in Ultimate Frisbee.
Dr. Heilman graduated from the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans and practiced general dentistry in Shreveport, Louisiana for 35 years. He and his wife of 30 years, Beth, loved the great weather and scenery of Colorado so they moved to beautiful Evergreen, Colorado in July of 2018.

Highly Highly disappointed and frustrated on the way we were treated today and the office canceled our appointments because no confirmation was received. We have provided over the years many times our cell phone numbers and they have our email address because we used to get confirmation requests through email- WHAT happened to that process- Ask the receptionist and no response. We weren't home for a couple days when messages were left. We have been patients for 15+ years and never once missed an appointment and it was rare we had to reschedule. We will be finding a new dentist and this is NOT ACCEPTABLE.

I made an emergency appointment for a painful toothache about a year and a half ago. Dr. Wachuta didn't take an x-ray, and instead advised that I wear a mouthguard at night. I recently moved and when my new dentist took intake x-rays, they immediately found that same tooth has a root infection. I don't understand why Dr. Wachuta didn't take an x-ray when I went in for the pain on my initial appointment. They probably would have seen the infection and could have taken care of it. Instead, I lived with it for over a year and thank goodness nothing more serious happened as a result. I would advise anyone going to Gentle Smiles to really be a strong self-advocate and push for treatment and answers.

Leslie - Dental hygienist - is amazing! I receive a quality cleaning and can feel the difference after seeing her compared to my previous hygienist; my gums have already stabilized since seeing her several times; I highly recommend Dr. Wachuta and his team at the 38th Ave location!

So I have been dealing with an inflamed gum around my wisdom tooth and had called and scheduled an appointment for 6/6/19 to have my teeth cleaned and to get a referral to have them removed. A week later of having to deal with the pain they tell me they never scheduled me and now I have to wait another week before I can get in at the only time that works for me. Very tired of dealing with the run around of poor business practice and lack of care for their patients. Screw this place I'm taking the trust of my dental care somewhere else.

I am surprised to see the other low reviews. I have never felt rushed and during a much needed crown was scheduled quickly. I go to the Wheat Ridge office and have always experienced a friendly professional atmosphere. Leslie does one of the most thorough routine cleanings of has been influential with turning around some of my gum problems. David Anderson

Had a terrible time at this dentist. Felt rushed the whole time even to sign in tho I was there early. She maybe took fifteen whole minutes on my mouth. And just put the paste on it and buffed them slightly and then rushed me to rinse. Missed half my teeth and just did a poor job. She also shoved this painful bite plate in my mouth and kept shoving when groaned to stop. It hurt so terribly cutting up my mouth. I understand thats the tool but she was hurting me and I told her to stop several times. I've had a lot of awesome dentists do my teeth. The lady who did my cleaning was aggressive with me, hostile and nasty. She cut my gums up and was really sloppy and rough on my teeth and knicked me a few times real bad I bled tons. Her face was caked in makeup and her eye kept leaking all over the place it almost fell in my mouth. She was condescending and rude. All while I'm getting bad news about having to removing teeth. The office itself needed work. Cracks in the wall, and there is large oil stains and holes in the carpet. Very much feels like it was slapped into a old housing unit. Equiptment was old and outdated and the whole building felt dirty. The lady cleaning my teeth lied to the main dentist about things I never said, like my nose rings being plastic. She was a mess and couldnt even get my xrays right, and we ended up taking over 20. Then she couldnt even get them in the chart correctly Not going back ever again. Receptionest was a angel, and the main doctor dentist was fine. They were very pushy I come back to them. Not very happy about it at all.

This is the best dentist office in the Denver metro area. The staff are friendly and personable, and they enjoy what they're doing. It's not like a massive chain by any means, Bri at the front desk will take care of any scheduling complications or requests, as well as answer all the questions you throw at her. The dentists are very caring and when I received my shots in the roof of my mouth they use a technique that doesn't hurt nearly as much as other dentists that I've had in the past. Definitely recommend to anyone who is in the market for a new dentist.

It took a month to get a visit when I finally got in for a regular check up the doctor decided he didn't want to come in and tried canceling on me hours before hand wanting me to reschedule. I didn't get the messages though and showed up, and since I came In they won't let me reschedule without charging me even though doctor was not there. They did give me a cleaning which the hygenist was great, but what I really wanted to do is see doctor and it isn't dentist without doctor. Also tried to get copy ex rays and they were going to charge me, when I refused to pay, and wrote a bad review they sent them in mail but they were not that good and unreadable. No wonder doctor did not see my cracked tooth that I was causing me so much pain, which was reason I was coming to see him in first place. I feel customer service could have been better such as, doctor could have checked up with customer after appointment and allow them to see doctor once for free when it wasn't customers fault for appointment being canceled.

In a few months it will be a year since I was introduced to this office and I am 100% cavitie free. It's a great atmosphere and lovely staff. Bre, the receptionist is amazing! I love talking to her! These assistants and Dr. Wachuta are really helpful! Always get the job done, and go the extra mile! They saved my teeth and I really couldn't thank them enough. I have a low calcium deficiency, as you can imagine I had several cavities, needed my wisdom teeth pulled and cleanings done. I have now a sonicare toothbrush and a water flosser, and my teeth have never felt cleaner. I love Viola, she is a great hygienist, lovely people, lovely staff! They always take care of their patients, I would recommend this place to anyone who needs dental work done.
