Dr. Hammett has been practicing dentistry in Lexington since 2007. After graduating from the University of South Carolina, he attended the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Hammett is always seeking to further his education by taking courses and attending seminars. He is always looking for ways to provide the best care possible to his patients.
Dr. Rick Jackson has been practicing dentistry in the Columbia area for over thirty years. Upon graduating from Clemson University and the Medical University of South Carolina, he practiced in a little town called Iva (near Clemson) for a short time before moving to Gamecock Country.Dr. Jackson is always seeking to expand his dental knowledge and expertise in order to provide his patients with the best care possible.
Dr. Jackson and his wife Karen have been married for 40 years. They have five children (Eric, Michelle, Rachel, Adam, and Christian) and four grandchildren (Rivers, Jackson, Katherine, and Emily). When Dr. Jackson is not practicing dentistry, you can find him around town with his grandkids, participating in church activities, or eating BBQ at a local restaurant.

Sofie went above and beyond with her care and concern for my teeth. She is definitely one of a kind and this will be where I choose to come for all my dental needs. Dr. Hammett is a great communicator and has earned my trust. This is a great office and all of the staff was very welcoming and friendly. The office was very clean and has a great vibe.

Wife told me about sign saying Emergencies Welcome so I called and got an appointment That day to get a crown put back on that came off While I was flossing.After filling out the necessary paperwork and waiting over an Hour the Dentist Told me that he could not do it!This is Thursday 4/28/2022 so I will probably be next week before I can have it put back on!Then maybe reconstructed.

I loved Gentle Dentistry, but they weren't covered under my dental plan. The TV's above the chairs are awesome and my hygienist always did a good job. My only problem is I feel like they can be slightly misleading about their dental practices. A doctor had told me I needed to have preventative drillings for areas that don't have cavities but looked like they may turn into them. While I chose to forego those, they didn't bother me about it except for my checkins. I think its kind of normal though for Dentisrs to recommend stuff like that now.just be sure to get a 2nd opinion. But overall great practice.

The service we recieved was amazing. The dentist who saw myself and my kids was awesome and the dental assistants were very nice and patient with my children. Everything was extremely clean and organized. I definitely would recommend Gentle Dentistry. Unfortunately the reason I gave them a 4 is because someone at the front desk failed to tell me they are not in network with my insurance and I had a bill. I called in advance to ask them if they did take my insurance and they insured me they did. So of course I went to use them. I was under the impression I wasn't going to receive a bill for my bi-yearly cleanings so when I did I was a tad ticked. Sure, now I know to call my insurance in advance to make sure a dentist is in network, but at the same time people who work at their job should know who they are in network with. All in all Gentle Dentistry was a great place and I DO recommend to anyone.

Recently I had two molars that needed to be removed asap. Gentle dentistry of Lexington was recommended to me by a friend for emergency services. First impression over the phone was so great. The upbeat staff and really calm environment was truly amazing. Dr. Hammett and his assistants made sure that I was comfortable and having a denstist that genuinely cares about his clients was a breath of fresh air. I highly recommend this office!

My experiences here have always been wonderful but had to share in particular of an emergency visit that I had to make when a crown came off my tooth two days before this Christmas. It was Sunday afternoon and when I called the office I left a message for Dr. Hammett. He called me back promptly and made arrangements for me to meet him at the office just a while later. He replaced my crown without complaint. Can't say enough about this practice!! Five Stars !!

Dr Jackson's office and his front office employees as well as his team of dental hygienists are nothing less than the best you will ever find anywhere in the Columbia/West Columbia/Lexington area. Please believe me that they will be the one doctor/location that you tell all of your friends to go to. They are really that good and you won't regret it!
