My son made an wisdom tooth removal consult appointment for this oral surgeon because our local office referred us. I live rural in Oregon so it was quite the drive. When we got there the check in was standard and then they called my son back. My son, by the was is two weeks shy of 20. I was only going in to help figure out the financial part. He had decided long before the appointment that he wanted sedation and said so during his consult. The dentist said it wasn't necessary and that it would only be a 15 minute procedure. They kept pressuring him until he excused himself and asked me to come back. The moment I walked into the room the woman started right in about how unnecessary sedation would be and that he could die. She said she could give him valium instead. I asked if she could prescribe Halcyon, something I've had to use multiple times and she still complained about that. I told her he really wanted sedated but she turned to me and said in the most condescending way..."does he want it or do you?" That made me so mad. She doesn't know anything about me or what dental work I've had done... I just asked again for the prescription. She rolled her eyes, ROLLED HER EYES and said okay and walked out. The assistant was nice and lead me out to the reception desk and said she will make you the appointment and give you the prescription. When the front desk person asked if we had the paperwork, I said no, they didn't give me anything...This upset her and she told or scolded me to take a seat because she had someone else to take care of first. I did, but thats when my son said what she had actually said to him about the request for sedation. She said, " you could die" I said, did she really say that? Who the hell says that, like that? He said yes, so we left. I know people can have bad days but anymore it seems like every worker is having one. Everyone is so damn rude. I may have wasted my day and time but I wont ever go back to Gentle Dental again. Sick and tired of BAD service. By the way, I understand there are risks from sedation but there's a better way to communicate that.

I had to start a dental process requiring multiple visits and found this office to be comfortable, compassionate and competent! From the up front office staff to the Doctors and assistants, each individual was personable and pleasant. They even came in at a lower cost than the estimate!! I actually look forward to going to the Dentist now

The Hygienist is AMAZING, the dentist is pricey but capable. The issue here is administrative. They will not make any kind of payment arrangements. The people who make appointments won't answer or leave emails, so it is difficult to make or change appointments as a result.

Over priced and wanted to do extra work. After insurance would have paid 1700$ in it would have been 3500$ put of pocket. They also taking extra time to email my dental x-rays to bright now dental, after in person visit to sign disclosure agreements, bright now dental had to call and press for a simple email. Also the same insurance covered all my work and a night guard to prevent grinding my teeth at night.

Dental trauma is real. Overcoming the fear and anxiety to finally get scheduled for check up and cleaning only to be told I had to be rescheduled due to their scheduling error. Explaining what it took for me to make the appointment in the first place earned me the response of oh well, too bad, either deal or we'll cancel altogether. I miss professionalism.

Handsdown Their dental services are awesome, however, they seem to lack in admin side. I have been following up for almost a week now for just a simple email referral. Yet, none of them has actioned my request. I called on march 1st, and the lady acknowledged and told me they would send one. Yet, none was received until today. I was told the same thing yesterday. I spoke with a different staff today and was told that she does not have the documents on hand, that the lady I spoke with was not in the office and make a follow up on Monday. It seems to me that they need to work on communication and teamwork. I don't know why it is taking this long to send a single referral email. They've been giving me the run around. I've been with Gentle Dental for 3+ years now and this is the first time I've encountered admin issues. That lady I spoke with today was being rude too. Probably why I ended up writing this review.

UPDATE: I have been going to this Gentle Dental location since my return to Vancouver now over FIVE years ago. I can't speak highly enough about the staff and the care I receive. They are very friendly and when I see people that I haven't seen in a year or longer they treat me like a long lost friend. GREAT PLACE!! I've seen staff come and go and it never fails to amaze me how they can find this many GREAT people.
