I've been going to Gentle Dental for years. Like many people, I hated going to the dentists because they usually tell me I need all this extra work done and whatever they do, it hurts. But ever since I've been going to Gentle Dental my fear of the dentist has diminished- still not my favorite activity, but at least now I'm not scared to go. Armin is the kindest, most gentle hygienist you'll ever meet. He really takes the time to explain why certain recommendations are important instead of just telling you to do this or that, which I really appreciate. He's personable (which in my experience is rare), and he's actually very funny. Every time I leave the office I have a smile on my face. I won't get my teeth cleaned by anyone else. Leah and Julie are very accommodating and friendly, I've had to reschedule appointments numerous times and there's never an issue. Always seems like a very well run office.

Three years ago my wife's dentist at the South Boston location recommended a crown. So we did. This year in June the tooth broke off and we have been advised to put in an implant. We have been waiting for an estimate since June. Unfortunately we have lost the trust. First, the crown (including the tooth) lasted just three years. I cost us money to put the crown in and I would assume the crown would last more than just three years. I am not sure whether the crown was inserted incorrectly or somebody made a mistake somewhere. I just don't know but it appears that it was a complete waste of money. Second, how long does it take to provide an estimate for an implant? I believe that three months is already excessive. We (a family of four) have been going there for years but it appears that we need to find a new place for our dental care. We really really liked this location including my kids but unfortunately we no longer trust this place.

I had a quick and fairly easy wisdom teeth extraction done, and each staff member I talked to was friendly and helpful. The assistant to the oral surgeon was helpful with answering any questions, and explained what I was experiencing throughout the process, calming any of my anxieties. Dr. Qian Yang, the oral surgeon was wonderful, his friendly energy put me at ease right away. He explained every step he was going to do before he did it, and then each step as he did it. He worked quickly but precisely, and the surgery went absolutley perfectly.

Gental Dental (GD) South Boston is friendly, professional, and very particular about providing top notch service. From check-in, to the procedure, to check out, GD creates a comfortable atmosphere. It's actually a pleasure to visit the dentist/hygienist and come out smiling!

Been attending this dental office for over 6 years with zero issues. Never had major dental work done just cleanings and 2 gum grafts but always had a positive experience. Armin is the only hygienist I'll see for cleanings. Dentist, Lacy Myer, I fully trust and has amazing bedside manner. Julia, one of the front desk attendants, will always accommodate your date requests and is a pleasure to speak with. Hannah, the manager, does a fantastic job with running this location and I highly recommend.

Usually, I don't give reviews. Sometimes I just can't be bothered. However, this is the second time Armen worked as my dental hygienist and I just felt like I had to say something. He is amazing!!! Not just his mannerisms but his work. He is extremely through, cares deeply about your entire mouth. I have had many, many, hygienist in my life and he is by far the best. I wish him much success. I also love the dental office in general. I have been with them less than a year but my experience so far has been wonderful. Keep up the great work.

I love the staff here! I've been coming for almost 7 yrs! Dr. Tsering is so empathetic and gentle. The front desk and assistants are so kind as well. I've had everything from cleanings to extractions here and am happy with it all.

If you want to pay a fortune and loose your teeth go to South Boston Gentle dental. Doctor who comes twice a month will work on your root canal, never finish, you will get infection waiting for the treatment to be completed and end up with extraction. You will pay for the treatment and maximize your insurance .Make sure save money for the extraction, because insurance will deny you .It's the worst experience that lasted for months and I ended up with going to another dentistry across the street where the rates were half of the Gentle dental rates. Please don't do the same mistake choose another place to begin with .

I have been visiting Gentle Dental for some time & I am pleased with the service. The ladies at the reception desk are very warm, pleasant and friendly. The dentists are excellent. My hygienist Armin was also very pleasant, friendly & showed concern that I was comfortable during the entire procedure. Thanks Armin. Great job.

Gentle Dental is a scam. The hygienists are lovely--patient, knowledgeable, and thorough. That's about all the positivity I can share. During my time at GD, I underwent a few different procedures including a root canal and two crowns. While getting my second, the dentist dropped an extremely heavy metal tool on my face from above which crashed onto my front teeth. Since I was laying there with my eyes closed, I didn't see it coming and it sent me into a panic attack. I understand mistakes and we all deserve a some grace. Dropping a tool wasn't a choice or anything malicious. But what I cannot look past, is her annoyance with me and push to continue rather than showing some compassion and letting me come down from my panic so we could proceed. Instead she continued to work on my teeth as I shook, cried, and and struggled to breath. (FYI to anyone with anxiety or panic disorders, a possible side effect of novocaine is anxiety, which of course can cause panic. GD did prescribe me meds to take for my appointment following this incident.) After this whole ordeal, I came in for my next cleaning. I was told I that needed two more crowns for a total of four in my mouth. This is what made me question their integrity. I'd spent thousands here on dental work but kept feeling like they were pushing me into unnecessary work. Every time I came in for a cleaning, they set me up with more and more procedures. I stopped going to GD and saw a new dentist. Not only is he fixing the botched crown from GD (I haven't been able to chew on that side of my mouth), he told me that I do not need any additional work done. When I told him that Gentle Dental suggested I get two more crowns, he laughed and said, "never go to Gentle Dental." While these aren't ALL of my issues here, they are the most significant. I'm leaving this thorough review because I think it's criminal to take advantage of people's vulnerability this way. We should be able to trust dental professionals to tell us the truth about our health rather than push us into receiving expensive and unnecessary procedures just to line their pockets. The greed here is obvious and astounding. I've spent thousands here and really really regret it.
