Dr. Safinaz Morcos has been providing dental care for her community in Hackensack, NJ for more than 20 years and has been practicing for over 32 years. Dr. Morcos graduated from New York University University DDS Medica School in 1990. She is a General Dentist and Periodontist specializing in teeth whitening, veneers, implants, and root canal treatment. Her professional associations include the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, the American Orthodontic Society, and the American Dental Association.

Gentle Dental Service team led by Dr. Morcos treats patients of all ages and provides great quality dental treatments such as routine dental care, cosmetic dental services, dental implant services, denture services, invisible braces, teeth whitening, and emergency services.

Orthodontic treatment refers to a procedure where with the aid of a system the teeth are essentially moved to a position that the dentist sees fit. After this treatment, the teeth look straightened and both oral and bone health are improved. This new position of teeth has long-term effects also on bone joints and gums since the pressure is spread throughout the teeth. Crooked teeth have another disadvantage in terms of oral hygiene that they are harder to clean and may rise to teeth decay.

There are so many options nowadays to treat crowded or misaligned teeth by orthodontic treatment such as braces, clear aligners, elastics, and more. Clear aligners have gained much popularity since the numerous advantages that they have over other orthodontic treatments.

Clear aligners are a removable alternative to braces. They are custom-made for every patient and provide the flexibility, comfort, and convenience that braces lack. They are almost invisible, made from clear, medical-grade, BPA-free plastic and can be used as a treatment in many cases such as:

Invisalign is the most popular type of clear aligner treatment since it has been on the market for the longest. They are known to be invisible and more comfortable. They dont touch the gums due to their scalloped shape along the gum line. They are made from SmartTrack material that is unique to the Invisalign system. This material is claimed to give better results in terms of accuracy, comfort, and time.

During the planning process, multiple sets of aligners are determined because a sigle one shifts teeth 1 mm or less. They are meant to be changed every 1 to 3 weeks and they must be worn for about 20 to 22 hours every day. Since the moving process is taking place very slowly, the treatment can take between 3 to 24 months. During the treatment, it may be necessary to visit your dentist every 3-4 weeks to track your progress and make adjustments if necessary. After the treatment is complete, the patient needs to wear a retainer every night or as frequent as their dentist suggests to preserve the new shape of their teeth.

Dental implants can be considered one of the best solutions for replacing missing teeth or damaged teeth. Since they are directly placed in the tooth socket, just like natural teeth, they function the same as natural teeth, while also being more durable in most cases. Dental implants, however, unlike some other cosmetic dental services, require the gums and jawbones to be healthy for them to be placed properly.

Dental implants are placed in the jawbone with a surgical operation. They function the same as any other natural tooth. They fuse with the patients jawbone with time and they function perfectly for years and even a lifetime in certain situations. Dental implants are beneficial for various dental problems, such as having missing tooth or teeth, wanting to improve the look of the smile, and being unable to wear dentures.

Although they are a very functional and efficient dental service for replacing missing teeth, dental implants also have a few risks and disadvantages. With these risks having very low rates of occurrence, they still shouldnt be ignored. These risks are:

Dental implants are cosmetic dental services that require surgical operations to be placed. The operation is done under local anesthesia and can take between 45 and 120 minutes. Because the area will be under the effect of anesthesia, you will not feel any pain or discomfort during the procedure. Your dentist will place the dental implant by cutting open your gum, drilling small holes where the dental implants metal support post will be placed, placing the implant, and cleaning the area.

After your dental implant is placed, you may experience discomfort or some side effects for up to a week. These side effects are usually the same in every dental or clinical operation. The most popular of these are swelling, bruising, bleeding, experiencing difficulty while eating or speaking, pain, and discomfort.

After dental implant surgery, you should visit your dentist regularly to make sure that there isnt any problem with your implant or implants. You should also pay attention to your oral hygiene and adopt a healthy lifestyle. Your implant or implants will remain healthy and durable depending on your eating habits and lifestyle. You should avoid smoking and excessive alcohol consumption for the most optimized results.

This will be a long review, because I want to be as detailed as possible about my experience. I waited until I received a second opinion before writing this review. I am not the type of person to write poor reviews because of wait times, poor scheduling, minor inconveniences, poor bedside manner, etc. I understand this is someone's business and livelihood, and I don't take that lightly. Before ANY work is done, I would strongly advise that one get a second opinion. I need extensive dental work done due to an autoimmune disorder; it is not due to neglect, which was insinuated. I saw Dr. Marcos about 15 years ago but didn't recall when I made the appointment. When I arrived at her office, my heart dropped, because it was a experience horrible then, too. After my x-rays, she enters the room, says long time, no see. Then proceeds to ask me if the last time I saw a dentist was with her. 15 YEARS AGO. She went on to tell me that most, if not all, of my teeth need to be pulled. She did not preform a physical examination, nor did I receive a routine cleaning. A dental examination requires more than viewing an x-ray and reviewing old notes from more than a decade ago. The mouth contains soft tissue which doesn't appear on x-ray. What if I had lesions, tumors, or poor gum health? This was a conversation; not an exam. It took all of 5 minutes. She told me to go into the waiting room so she could give me a treatment plan, which I did. She told me that all of my front teeth needed to be crowned, which would cost 5900.00 and my insurance would not pay for a root canal (she didn't bother to check). She told me the partial that insurance would cover is poor; so, she attempted to upsell another type of partial, and I could pay the difference. This is insurance fraud! She gave me a referral to have teeth extracted that didn't need to be. This was the most patronizing, condescending conversation. I had a complete dental exam and cleaning with a reputable dentist. I also had my x-rays reviewed by other dentists. She known by dentists in the area and not in a good way. Nothing she told me was true. She was pushing me into having cosmetic procedures done by using scare tactics and lies. If you've made it this far, please take my advice and the advice of others who have written poor reviews. There are dentists out there who are skilled and really care, she isn't one of them. You deserve so much better.

if i could give less then 1 star i would. do yourself a favor and do not waste your time. they will have you jumping through hoops to get anything done and what should and could be an easy process turns into a whole ordeal. the communication is terrible and the entire office is outdated and old. wouldnt trust them with a cleaning.

I don't know where to start. First of all they have a receptionist that never gets back to you no matter what the emergency . I believe her name is Marianka or whatever it is . They claim they will call you back and never do. In addition they simply just never know what they are doing and are all over the place.

Dr. Morcos is a superb dentist for both general and specialized care. I initially went to her with some very old dental work that needed repair and replacement. It has been a 100% pain-free experience and my teeth look rejuvenated. She made new dentures for my mother that look and function better than her original teeth did. She is a true professional and very expert in the dental field.

waste of time, the dentist seemed annoyed and she only told me what I needed to get done and sent me home. This was my last resort but I'm not coming back. I didn't get asked what the appointment was for when I called to make one.
