Roderick Place was named COO of InterDent in 2017 and assumed Co-Leadership as Chief Executive Officer in 2018. Mr. Place has extensive experience transforming private equity backed healthcare companies through his strategic leadership, focus on operational excellence, clinical leadership collaboration, and structuring of field operations and corporate support teams. Mr. Place is also accomplished in leading boards and executive teams through expansive growth in mergers & acquisitions, DeNovo, due diligence and market consolidation. Before joining InterDent, Mr. Place served in executive level operations roles with Western Dental, MedQuest Associates and Alliance Healthcare. Mr. Place is also the Managing Director and Co-Founder of MedSummit Solutions, LLC. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from Grand Valley State University.
Matthew Wickesberg joined InterDent as EVP/CFO in 2016 and assumed Co-Leadership as Executive Vice Chairman two years later. In 2019, he was further elevated to Co-Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Wickesberg is an experienced board member, executive officer, and lender with a deep background in multi-site hospitality and healthcare industries. He is also experienced working with lending institutions and private equity firms through structuring capital, due diligence, mergers & acquisitions, and uncovering portfolio synergies. Prior to joining InterDent, Mr. Wickesberg served in various senior finance roles with HOA Restaurant Group, ZTejas, Inc., and GE Capital. Mr. Wickesberg received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Oklahoma State University and his MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management.
Dr. Heather Hawkins has committed her career to patient care while understanding current healthcare trends and value-based comprehensive care. Dr. Hawkins has an expansive clinical, academic and operational background, including leading medical-dental integration as well as quality and risk management for multi-site healthcare organizations. After 12 years of practicing general dentistry, she expanded her skills with several key roles in academia. In 2012 she joined the team at Adventist Health in Northern California, a multi-site health care organization with over 5,000 medical and dental staff physicians, as the Director of Quality. In her leadership role there, Dr. Hawkins led expansion and integration across the health system with medical and dental clinic management and an emphasis on comprehensive care models addressing patient risk factors, active disease and preventative measures. Dr. Hawkins earned her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) from Nova Southeastern University in Florida and her Advanced Education in General Dentistry Certification from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Dr. Manu Chaudhry has dedicated his career in the pursuit of dental health care, improving clinical quality and access to care, and transforming delivery of care to improve overall health outcomes. He is a dynamic and mission-driven leader with extensive leadership experience over multi-region dental practices, and has also founded multiple collaborative organizations that reduce oral and overall health disparities. Dr. Chaudhry is a board member of Healthier Kids Foundation and holds a Masters of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from University of the Pacific.
Sandra Lau is a seasoned legal adviser with over fourteen years experience acting as General Counsel of multiple dental healthcare corporations. Ms. Laus responsibilities include advising executive management, supporting strategic growth initiatives, overseeing all aspects of the corporate legal function including HIPAA, state and federal regulatory compliance, corporate transactions and governance, mergers and acquisitions, and risk and litigation management. Before Joining InterDent, Ms. Lau served as General Counsel at Western Dental. Ms. Lau holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Juris Doctor from Loyola Marymount University.
Bernard Piccione has extensive experience across a wide range of industries delivering complex enterprise-scale information technology solutions to achieve major global business value and objectives. Mr. Piccione excels at driving sustainable business growth through IT modernization, solution development, and global transformation initiatives while building strong partnerships to better leverage technology solutions. Prior to joining InterDent, Mr. Piccione served as CIO for Ingenuity Advisory Partners, Inc., Complex Care Solutions, Inc., and MagnaCare. Mr. Piccione holds a Bachelors and Masters in Computer Science from Boston University.
Darrin Kellaris is a senior marketing executive with over 20 years experience specializing in digital marketing, social media, and brand strategy. Mr. Kellaris offers a record of success in creating and driving marketing strategies that strengthen revenue, margins, and market share by elevating brand authenticity and relevance. At InterDent, he leads all aspects of marketing including digital and social media, brand positioning, and performance analytics. Prior to joining InterDent, he led marketing efforts at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and IHOP. Mr. Kellaris holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from San Diego State University.
Diane Stern brings almost 20 years of dental services organizational experience specializing in organizational design and strategic partnering. Ms. Stern is responsible for Human Resources planning and strategy for recruiting, retention, benefits and performance management. She built her HR leadership experience through roles at Coast Dental, PrimeCo Wireless Communications and LabCorp where she focused on employee programs to increase engagement and satisfaction along with operational efficiencies. Ms. Stern holds a Bachelors degree in English Literature, Education, and Business from the University of Tampa and volunteers at KMR Group Foundation.

I had gone to Gentle Dental because I was told by my son in California they were rated pretty good. I have terrible fear of dentists due to my upbringing. I had a consultation with the dentist and staff. My only option for my teeth was to get permanent implants. They told me that they would be giving me hybrid teeth implants that I would need to go to a dentist once a year to have removed to clean. That's not what they decided to give me after pulling all my teeth. This has become so depressing and has costed so much and now they don't even return phone calls. They robbed me of my teeth and my money.

Sabrina, the office manager at the Mt. Vernon Office was absolutely amazing!!! She took my call and spent the time to listen to me and showed so much compassion and went above and beyond to understand my situation and took the time to help me resolve my concerns. She is amazing and such a asset to that office!!!

Fantastic personal care. I even reached for and held her hand during the injection. The office gals were great and very helpful getting me my appointments. The dentist was so good at taking care of me.

Since my Old dentist forgot to tell me I was out of network with Them, I found Gentle Dental from my insurance and then read the reviews. I was shocked for once the reviews are true. The staff , the Dr's just everyone here is so super friendly and much cheaper for the same quality of service you can get at other places. I just really wanted to say thank you to The Mount Vernon OFFICE FOR BEING AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!

I have just relocated to Skagit County from Pennsylvania and had a sudden dental emergency. Having been a client of the same dental practice for 30 years, I was apprehensive about finding a new dentist. Choosing Gentle Dental has been a real blessing. Dr. Sachdev and technicians Sabrina and Erin have provided exceptional care and made me feel as welcome and comfortable as if I was back east with my long time dentist. I give my full recommendation to Gentle Dental in Mount Vernon.

Hello, this place is very friendly and nice. They will tell all the fees upfront so they don't raise your blood pressure right before a vist. They will work with all budgets even if you don't have insurance. The vibe is very friendly. I am someone with a healthy dose a dental phobia, who has worked in customer service for over 20 years. I highly recommend this place. I found my new dental home. P.s. they want this old (48) granny to get braces. I have hated my smile for decades. The fact that they can help all stages to a better smile is the cherry on the cake.

Gentle Dental has the nicest staff of any dentist I've ever been to. They help me feel comfortable and let me be a part of my treatment plan by asking questions and giving me information about what they plan to do in a way I can understand. I've always been afraid of the dentist, and still get jitters when I go in for appointments but they quickly resolve any nervousness I'm feeling. I highly recommend Gentle Dental. Sadie is truly the kindest assistant! She goes all the way around to explain everything you could possibly need to know and offers suggestions if something isn't working for you! I don't remember the Drs name that helped me today but she was very gentle and informative! I don't have the best teeth or any insurance and they were very comforting and kind!

I had an emergency situation and they took care of me fast. A root canal needed to be done and they were able to get me in on a Saturday. They took the care and time for me and made sure everything was perfect. I wasn't a permanent patient there but now I am. I'm happy that I found a dentist that follows through and takes excellent care. Dr. Sachdev and Sadie - you guys are amazing!!

This is in regard to an emergency appointment that this office worked me in. All the staff I was in contact with treated me great!! I am afraid to go to the dentist and they were so patient with me and so very considerate of me and my fears. I truly truly appreciate this because I REALLY am afraid. The dentist that took care of me was Dr. Sachdev and her assistants were Sadie & Sabrina. All of them were so considerate, compassionate, patient and so very thoughtful of my fears. I do highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a dentist.

Sabrina, Debbie, Dr Lee and the folks at Gentle Dental are amazing! I'd like to formally request that the boss give Sabrina, Debbie and Dr. Lee a raise, because they earned it and deserve it! In my 30 years of professionally detailing high end houses and taking the time and patience to ensure everything is gorgeous, it is rare these days to find anyone who brings this level of care, expertise and style to their work. 45 years in and out of major dental repairs, in severe pain most of the past 10 years, all I can say is that they were more gental, attentive and professional than any dentist I've suffered through in all that time. I want to tell tell the person reading this just exactly what that means in a world full of unaware, man handlers who are too rough, too rude and attitudes unbecoming of their profession -and would better be suited as contractors for a construction company...not dentists. Dr. Lee is amazing in that he delighted in his work, (which made me giggle in recognition) and attention to details. Sabrina is fully present and in all honesty, made me feel safe! A real rarity when you seriously think about it. It was a pleasant surprise to nearly fall asleep in their chair and I have stress anxiety like you wouldn't believe. I hope they get the raises in their pay as I'm requesting. They earn it every day.
