Dr. Shamuel Ilyayev (Dr. Sham) grew up in Queens, New York. He completed a highly competitive 7 year accelerated joint degree dental program. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Adelphi University, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University College of Dentistry. After graduating, Dr. Sham furthered his dental education by completing a general practice residency at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center where he obtained extensive surgical and endodontic training, as well as cosmetic and general restorative training. Dr. Sham is a lifelong learner who is constantly advancing his skills and knowledge by attending continued education courses in various aspects of dentistry to provide the utmost quality care for his patients. Dr. Shams mission is to provide top-level comprehensive dental services to all patients in an environment that is safe, reassuringly pleasant and comfortable.

I always have a great experience when I come to Gentle Dental! I needed alot of work done on my teeth. Dr. Sham and Kimberly made me feel so comfortable. They treated me so kindly and constantly checked to see how I was feeling during my visit. I Highly recommend Gental Dental! Thanks again!

I needed emergency dental work done and Dr. Roman and his staff were very accommodating for the same day. Kimberly gave wonderful assistance and took some of the tension off since I'm not exactly a fan of the dentist. Friendly atmosphere. Thanks!

Years ago I went to the dentist and I was always loosing my teeth, I was suffering from my old dentist and now I have a permanent smile thank you , I'm happy with this dentist office.

Just moved to NY and needed to go in for my yearly cleaning and needed a filling done and saw this place had excellent review so I thought I'd give it a shot. The filling went good then comes my "cleaning". This cleaning took no more than 3 minutes. They used basically an electric toothbrush to the front and backs of my teeth. After I was done in the chair they told me I could go pay. I was so confused I asked if I needed to come back for my cleaning cause I had no idea it had even been done. Then I asked well do I have any cavities then? And the response was I don't know we didn't take x- rays but you do have one next to the tooth we just fixed. Now typically a cleaning consist of scraping plague and tarter off your teeth, basic oral exam, flossing and x-rays especially if you are a new patient. I'm very disappointed with their service and should have gone somewhere else.

A really great experience my husband and I had at Gentle Dental Family care with Dr Roman and his staff. Will definitely recommend him to anyone. My husband was in a lot of pain with his wisdom tooth and Dr was very gentle with him took his time to explain everything and of course answered all our questions. In addition to this the other staff members were so friendly and welcoming. The procedure was so fast and pain free as my husband said in less than a minute the tooth was extracted. We will definitely keep Dr Roman as our dentist moving forward

My experience at Gentle Dental has been great. Dr Roman has gone out of his way to make sure that everything is exactly the way I wanted. His work is impeccable and he truly strives for perfection. I am so happy with the final results. I get so many compliments. When I look in the mirror I am genuinely blessed. I would strongly recommend Gentle Dental. His staff is also pleasant and friendly. It was a great experience.

I couldn't sleep all night, I had a bad toothache needed to be seen ASAP. Called in , was seen immediately, Dr Roman and his staff were very nice, I had an immediate wisdom tooth extraction with no pain. Even the day after no swelling no pain, back to work. Thank you best dentist in queens.

Dr. Roman & Kimberly are such genuinely nice and caring dental personnel. They make sure you are doing well from start to finish. I have gotten my mandibular (bottom) two wisdom teeth out from here and the process was quick and smooth! I recommend anyone to visit here, and have told others about this place. Dr. Roman, Kim and rest of the staff are the sweetest. They make you feel so comfortable and not nervous. I came in for consultation and end up loving it here. I got an extraction and implant done. He was amazing. He was very quick when having the procedure done. I did not feel as scared as I I thought I would be. It was big help with this practice having a dental plan. He helped setting up a payment plan due to having no insurance.

Very pricey. Literally paid out the wazoo for my fillings and cleaning and yes that's with insurance. Doesn't take the time to explain what is needed. I felt very rushed and did not like Dr. Roman's bedside manner. Try to take time and focus on explaining things to your patients. It goes a long way. His assistant was very nice. This is the Gentle Dental on Metropolitan Avenue. The negative reviews are true. Decent work but at a very high price. You will not find my name in your database so please don't look.

Called for emergency visit, was seen the same day. Dr Roman was able to treat me. Love the job. He was excellent. His assistant Kimberly has a great personality and made me comfortable. Dr Roman will be my new Dentist.

Rockstar service. I came in as an emergency. My wisdom tooth was broken and black. Had to go. I've never felt so little to almost no pain having a tooth pulled out. Highly recommended. Very pleasant experience.

A good experience, staff was very patient and helpful. Doctor did a wonderful job extracting my infected teeth. I totally recommend them. The dentist's assistant was very kind and patient even though I was terrified because of my dental phobia. I recommend Gentle Dental Family Care for anyone like myself who has dental phobia.
