At Gentle Dental Care our home is your home literally. Our office is located in the quiet, picturesque, and charming suburbs of Rome, New York, on a tree-lined street with wide white walkways and trimmed green lawns. The Gentle Dental building is actually a vintage two-story Victorian-era home complete with white columns, custom moldings, and lovely picture windows.
We know that visiting the dentist can more traditionally be seen as a stressful experience, especially for the youngest members of your family, so our friendly, caring, child-loving staff members go out of our way to make each member of your family feel at home. Age-appropriate books and reading material are readily available to entertain and absorb our younger patients as they wait for Dr. Shaik. We focus on providing you with a relaxed yet professional environment from start to finish, giving each member of your family our expert and undivided personal attention and care.
Dr. Shaik completed his dental education from New York University College of dentistry in 2003. He then went on to do an additional year of training in General Practice Dental Residency at the Faxton St. Lukes Dental Center in Utica, New York.
He started his own private practice in Rome, NY in 2005 where he focused on providing comprehensive dentistry for all ages. His patients often remark on how gentle and caring he is. In addition to maintaining his private practice he also provided dental care to special need individual at Upstate Cerebral Palsy Center in Rome, NY. He also maintains an active Attending Status at Faxton St. Lukes Dental Center in Utica, NY.
Dr. Shaik is committed to providing high quality dental care for his patient by engaging in more than 100+ hours in post graduate continuing education courses every year. He has completed extensive education in Implant dentistry and Invisalign. Dr. Shaik is committed to the wellbeing of his patient by incorporating the latest in technology such as digital X-Rays, in-office digital CT scan.
He is a member of American Dental Association (ADA), Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), New York State Dental Association (NYSDA), American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), American Dental Implant Association (ADIA).

Very Kind and Courteous every time I've been its been nothing but Customer friendly Service And very Good work done on my teeth the dentist gets straight to his job and I've never experienced long wait times or feelings of being uncomfortable while waiting Tessa also did a amazing Job Cleaning my teeth She througly cleaned each tooth and since she cleaned them my tooth that seemed to bleed while brushing has not been bleeding one time since she cleaned them No dental hygienist has ever done that they have told me it was gum disease and or change my toothbrush to a electrical one and get that periodontal toothpaste to stop the bleeding it never worked but after her cleaning my teeth She gave me a regular non electrical tooth brush and a travel sized crest pro health and my teeth has not been bleeding at all. I highly recommend for anyone to choose them to take care of your dental needs. I read the reviews before choosing them as my dentist and the bad reviews I read is nothing compared to my experience there.

I love it here! The girls at the desk are great, Dr Shaik is very thorough and straight to the point. He does fantastic work.. and in a very timely matter.

My family and I love Gentle Dental Care. Doctor Shaik and his staff are truly amazing at their job. Tara is the best dental hygienist always so caring and patient with our toddler.

Absolutely horrible customer service , the time of the woman who called me was impulsive , continuing to tell me that due to me doing "No call no shows" ( when I was 10-11 years old) that I could not do these actions again or I will be dropped and continued to interrupt me when I tried to explain myself I can see why my parents let the appointments go delinquent , this practice is horrible customer service wise and I will be taking me and my insurance else where

My husband 2 boys and i have gone to these ppl for years. My boys love tara and the other long brown hair lady i cant recall her name but they both are amazing with children i was scared how my younger boy would be when he first went at 4 i beleive but he did amazing with tara now he is 7 and still they are great . best place iv found so far and i stopped looking .

I wish there was no stars! I was excited to bring my kids as well as myself to a new dentist. When I called to schedule the appointments the person who answered was nice and helpful. I had my records sent over (as she requested) it took 3 weeks of waiting and finally me calling back to schedule the appointments. Moving forward a few weeks my kids have appointments together scheduled at a specific time (I write everything in my calendar) and mine for another day. I get 1 email with my appointment only. I show up to their appointment, thankfully I wrote it down because I received no reminders at all. The receptionist was so rude! She says "you're really late," I said "like 2 minutes late." She instantly was snotty and very argumentative. Telling me I had the time wrong, that I was texted multiple times reminding me. I explained how I didn't receive any texts only 1 email and it was for my appointment the following week not the kids for that day. She says "well they moved on, you have to reschedule." I, very upset that my kids have missed school, agree to reschedule and she then tells me 2 months from now. When I just set these up 3-4 weeks ago. I said, you have nothing sooner? I asked if she could split the appointments up to get them sooner, or if there was any openings with my appointment next week? She replies, "nope, December." I said "forget it," she again very rudely says "yup, ok"and rolls her eyes. Worst Receptions ever! I can't believe that she treats New Patients like this. Judging by the reviews here, it wasn't just her having a bad day. A receptionist represents your practice. This one is awful, and I will not reschedule and be treated like this.

Very rude and unhelpful. I've been having issues with a broken tooth and gave me a list of other places else but told me to call if I had any issues. When I called they said they can't help me till I'm seen some place else but had no suggestions for me. She rudely told me to call my insurance company and hung up. What a joke and very unprofessional. Not sure what they even do there. Can't refer me anywhere. Can't fix my tooth. I guess all they do is clean teeth? Which they didn't even do that when I went sooooo???? They bill insurance that's about it.

Great office and dentist. Would highly advise this office to anyone. They care deeply about patient satisfaction and experience. I had a falling out with them over a misunderstanding and they reached out to resolve the issue. This goes a long way and I now will remain a loyal customer for the years to come.

Absolutely terrible... The staff went out of their way to make you feel unwelcome....... The assistant at the front desk was very rude and not well enough trained for her job.... I would not recommend....
