Dr. Jaish Markos received his dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his specialty training in pediatric dentistry at St. Christophers Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, PA. Following his residency, Dr. Markos has worked as an associate for a group pediatric practice in Chester County, PA before moving to New York. Dr. Markos is board certified and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, a member of the American Dental Association, and a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Markos philosophy is that pediatric dentists have a profound effect on the lives of young children. As health professionals, pediatric dentists have one of the most important dental jobs. They are responsible for molding a future patient. A child may feel hesitant and afraid when thinking about their first visit to the dentist. As the first dentist a child encounters, pediatric practitioners can ease their fears.
Dr. Markos takes this first encounter as well as the visits that follow with the utmost care and attention. Dr. Markos' practice vision is to provide high-quality dentistry in a nurturing and caring environment. His focus is patient-centered with an emphasis on preventing dental disease, beginning in infancy to adulthood.
Dr. Markos' two-year specialty training has prepared him to work with special needs patients such as those suffering from autism, cancer, and rare genetic anomalies as well as dentally anxious patients. For his nervous patients, he can administer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to make the dental experience more comfortable. In addition, Dr. Markos is credentialed with New York-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital where he offers Hospital Dentistry for those patients that may require it, in addition to offering in-office sedation dentistry.
Dr. Jimmy Li, DMD, MSD, earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine at Boston University. He excelled at school, graduating Summa Cum Laude. After finishing his doctorate degree, Dr. Li continued his studies with advanced specialty training. He pursued training in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics at Boston University. Before this elite training in the United States, Dr. Li studied at the University of Toronto, where he specialized in human biology.
Dr. Li is an invaluable addition to the staff at Gentle Care Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics. He is proud to provide his patients with proven solutions backed by real evidence to solve their malocclusion. To do this, he works on building strong, productive relationships with his patients by employing compassion, trust, and education. Every day when Dr. Li comes to work, he's innately humbled by the way his patients trust him. This faith motivates him to invest in his patients to create a longstanding impact in their lives. All of this is possible through cutting-edge orthodontic care and a personable demeanor.
When Dr. Li is not at work, you can often find him at the beach. Dr. Li loves the soft sands, and he's partial to beach volleyball in the summer. He stays active in the winter as well. When the weather gets colder, Dr. Li likes to snowboard after a fresh snowfall. Afterward, he likes a nice cup of hot chocolate to tide him over. Dr. Li enjoys good food and classic movies, and he's a fan of expanding his horizons through international travel.
