She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.S. degree in Dental Hygiene in 1991, and then from UNC School of Dentistry in 1995 with her D.D.S. degree. She is a member of the ADA, North Carolina Dental Society, Charlotte Dental Society, Charlotte Chamber of Commerce and Matthews Chamber of Commerce.
She has a great passion for dentistry and helping her patients overcome their fears with her calming and caring chairside manner. She takes the time to clearly explain what needs to be done so her patients can make an educated decision about their dental treatment.
While enjoying all aspects of dentistry, Dr. Alstons focus revolves around oral surgery, porcelain crowns and dental bridge procedure, and cosmetic dentistry. She stays committed to learning about the new advancements in dentistry and how your oral health affects your overall health.
Dr. Alston devotes time to serving the community by volunteering annually at the NC Missions of Mercy dental clinic held in Charlotte, the Charlotte Mens Shelter Dental Clinic, and the Womens Shelter. She and her team have been supporters and participants in the Susan G. Comen Breast Cancer Awareness Walk as well as The Fight Against Alzheimers Walk for several years.

I was very impressed with how professional the entire team is here. I was nervous about coming in since I have not been to the dentist in a couple of years and there were a couple of negative reviews. I was greeted right away and everyone that I met on the team (5 people) was super friendly. They each took time explaining to me everything that they were doing and let me know why they were doing it. They not only took xrays but also took pictures so that it was super clear what action was needed. The office itself is very clean and inviting. I want to give special kudos to their office manager, she knew I was nervous and took the time to explain to me next steps, and put me at ease. I would definitely recommend this office to anyone who is not particularly fond of the dentist in general since I have never felt so relaxed in a dental office.

I don't normally leave reviews but when it comes to healthcare I feel like it's so important to share my experience so I can help someone in the future. This place just wants your money. They diagnosed me with having an extreme amount of cavities, so many that I had to get a 2nd opinion. I sent the X-rays to my family dr back home and they told me I had ZERO CAVITIES and to not go back to this place. It's one thing to miss diagnose maybe 1 or 2 but they were about to complete multiple days worth of fillings!!! As someone who hates going to the dentist, this just made my experience 100x worse.

I Wasn't pleased with my visit on Monday at all. I did not like the new hygienist so for that reason I won't be returning to this office. I didn't even receive new a toothbrush, toothpaste etc which is always given at the end of every visit.

If you are a new client do NOT waste your time. I scheduled an appointment for a cleaning at 10:30, after arriving, going through the X-ray and exam I was told, "If you'd like a cleaning you will need to wait until 11:30." Allow yourself half a day to be seen for a typical cleaning that should take 45 minutes typically. I specifically shared when scheduling my appointment I lived in DC and was in town for the day.

Let me preface this by saying I have high anxiety going to the dentist and always have. I am impressed with everyone from Dr. Alston to her staff. Everyone is welcoming, caring and knowledgeable. I could go on and on but just know if you need a dentist, this is the Dr. and location to choose.

I cannot say enough about everyone that works here! I want to highlight Zaida at the front desk especially. She went ABOVE and beyond to make sure that I was able to get in for most of what I needed to get done. Called me and followed up whenever she had a cancellation I mean just AMAZING. Everyone else is just as wonderful! Please if you're looking for a new dentist choose them!
