Genesis Health Services, Inc. was incorporated as a Florida not-for-profit corporation onMarch 8, 1994to provide supportive transitional housing for adult males and females seeking recovery from alcohol or other drug abuse. Such individuals often-times had co-occurring persistent and severe mental illnesses.
This initial period saw a great under-service within the community of the HIV/AIDS population with the above-described recovery needs. Genesis Recovery Center was the first residential recovery center in Sarasota County targeting and conducting outreach activities to house the HIV/AIDS substance abusers.
The housing program was staffed with a volunteer live-in manager and volunteer counselors. Total financial support for the program was in the form of residents fees assessed on a sliding-scale based upon income. The housing program was discontinued in 2002 when the need for such housing diminished with the opening of over 200 beds between the years of 1996-2002 by other providers, as well as the lessening of discrimination against the HIV/AIDS population in the allocation of those beds.

DO NOT GET EXTRACTIONS HERE!!! TOO EXPENSIVE AND THEY DO NOT PRESCRIBE ANTIBIOTICS OR PAIN MEDICINE! THEY'RE WICKED!

Leaving a one-star review because i cant leave a 0. Horrible experiences all around. Continued to give me shots in the back of my mouth bc i wasnt getting numb to the point where i literally couldnt open my mouth to fit a baby spoon in fo almost 2 months ...straight liquid. Than i got promised id have them by christmas now here i am coming up on the 4th of july and now the second appointment i have had to get them and they say i have no apointment. Last time i was promised less thab an hour in and out. Sat in waiting room for 2 and still never got saw. Run for the hills pay the extra money for a real dental practice. Horrible run for the hills.

Made appt over 30 days out, arrive on time to be met with it being closed. No phone call informing me prior, no answer on phone,no answering service. Unbelievable.

Ridiculous... I've waited more than an hour outside, then they let me inside and I fell asleep for another hour waiting on some doctor, i woke up and I went home ... Watch out, she puts her hand in your mouth with no gloves ... Yeah, cheaper but... Oh my God, never more

Took my 19 year old here for a bad molar. Long wait which we were told about. The doctor and staff were great. Only charged $150 for the extraction and 50 for the x rays.
