I find true fulfillment in helping people. When it comes to my patients dental health, I get the most satisfaction when helping them achieve optimal health and genuine happiness with a positive dental experience. I have enjoyed building meaningful, long-lasting relationships with my patients since 1995 and look forward to many more years to come.
Continuing education enables me to provide better results for our patients by using state-of-the-art technology, techniques, materials, and equipment. The KOIS Center program motivates dentists to expand their knowledge and skills in all aspects of dentistry. In addition, I'm a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, a national organization for continued professional development, as well as the ADA (American Dental Association).
I was born in Portland, OR, and spent most of my time growing up in Terrace, British Columbia. I moved to Palmer, AK, in 1995 and have enjoyed taking advantage of all this beautiful area has to offer. My wife, Jerilyn, and I have three children named Kendra, Zoe, and Arianna. As a family, we enjoy rafting, biking, hiking, skiing and fishing.
I began my dental career as a dental assistant in 2008 and joined Dr. Burtchs team in 2009 as our office manager. For our practice, I take care of scheduling, insurance, and billing. I really enjoy helping our patients have a pleasant dental experience. Dr. Burtch is a fun, positive person who is always in a good mood. He makes our office a great place to be every day. My wonderful husband and I have two sweet little boys and together we enjoy spending time outdoors. We do a lot of camping and four-wheeling in the summer and snow-machining in the winter.
I have worked with Dr. Burtch for my entire dental career, since 2002. My favorite part of working here is helping our patients achieve overall health through excellent dental health. Dr. Burtch is committed to keeping our office up-to-date with new technology and encourages all of us to continue our education in order to provide the best in patient care. When Im not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family. We love the outdoors and all that Alaska has to offer, from hunting and fishing to snow-machining.
Rebecca has been with our team since 2019. She is very personable with all patients and enjoys helping Dr. Burtch through various dental procedures. Rebecca is proficient in many assistant duties and keeps our back-office running smoothly. She is a life-long Alaskan who enjoys what our state has to offer.

I have been going to DR. Burtch for many many years. You are first greeted by Christy, and very friendly and helpful. Julie has cleaned my teeth for longer than I can remember, and always very pleasant and easy to work with. The entire atmosphere is calm, and happy. Important when going to the dentist. Dr. Burtch is the example of "just how it should be" when going to the dentist. He is informative, and helpful in making the right decisions. I'll keep coming back again and again, and I recommend you do too!!

I put off going to the dentist for a number of years after a bad experience elsewhere. After meeting Dr. Burtch, I gave his office a call for a check-up and cleaning. The office was very well appointed and located conveniently in Palmer. Staff was friendly and helpful. Each person I encountered was considerate of my past experiences and worked to make me comfortable. Dr. Burtch's new patient exam of my teeth was the most thorough that I've ever had. I felt like I was getting a thorough medical exam, which is exactly what we should expect but don't necessarily get from a dentist. I asked about some cosmetic issues with my teeth and Dr. Burtch was quick to tell me the work wasn't necessary to the health of my teeth but optional. It was refreshing, to say the least. And, whatever new cleaning method they have now did an amazing job on my teeth. I had people ask if they'd been whitened. I'm very pleased and will continue to go back to see Dr. Burtch and his team. I still don't love the dentist but I'm committed to getting regular care now.

I have a most wonderful experience every time I have an appointment with Dr. Monty at General Family Dentistry! The office is extremely relaxing. I fall asleep in the chair. The best part is the staff and Dr. Monty! They are kind and professional. They have a personal interest in each client. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Very friendly atmosphere; appointment was kept on time; X-ray taken on modern equipment; work in mouth was gently done; doctor and technician were very considerate with comfort of patient ;would definitely recommend this office to anyone needing dental work

Dr. Burtch and his staff are ALL caring, friendly and professional. He has been our dentist for as long as he's been in Palmer, over 20 years (I think). At my last visit, two days ago, I had an old filling replaced. I told Dr Burtch that I couldn't remember the last time I'd had any kind of pain during or after a procedure. In spite of the fact that he is not a preferred provider under our dental plan, we will continue to be his loyal customers.

Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I haven't ever experienced a wait time for my appointments. My 4 year old has had 2 appointments for routine cleanings and they are very good with kids. He has had a good experience and likes going to the dentist.

Ever look forward to going to the dentist? Well, I have to admit, when it becomes necessary I know a very warm and caring staff will be there, in an office very comfortable which always makes me feel relaxed. The staff is thorough and efficient and have your best interests at heart. I would recommend the services at General Family Dentistry to anyone.

I was eating a sandwich when my tooth broke off. They told me to come right over and they got me right in, figured out a treatment plan and really took care of me. I can't say enough good things about their patient care. I am so glad they're my dentist!

Our family has had the best dental health through General Family Dentistry.If you have an appointment don't plan on catching up on your reading as you can at most clinics. Dr. Burtch keeps up on the latest dental care methods. I know that we will always get prompt professional treatment in a friendly atmosphere.

As a matter of course, I hate going to the dentist. Until a friend referred me to Dr. Burtch. He is very professional and aware of his patients wants and needs.
