Dr. Geisler grew up in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Upon graduation, he attended St. Olaf College for his undergraduate studies and earned a BA in Biology. He subsequently received his D.D.S. from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1996. He then practiced general dentistry for 9 years prior to attending the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where he received his certificate in endodontics in 2008.
Dr. Geisler enjoys both clinical and academic pursuits. During his time at San Antonio, Dr. Geisler was a recipient of a grant from the AAE foundation for his research entitled, Regenerative Endodontics: Growth Factors Control the Phenotype of Human Dental Pulp Stem/Progenitor Cells and presented the results at the 2008 AAE Annual Session. Dr. Geisler was a co-author of Regeneration Potential of the Young Permanent Tooth: What Does the Future Hold? and Endodontic applications of cone-beam volumetric tomography both of which were published in Journal of Endodontics. He presented a lecture and workshop on Regenerative Endodontic Procedures (REPs) at the 2009, 2010 and 2011 AAE Annual Sessions. Dr. Geisler is the author of Clinical Considerations for Regenerative Endodontic Procedures currently in press for Dental Clinics of North America.
Dr. Geisler also serves his profession by being active in organized Endodontics. He currently serves as a member of the Regenerative Endodontics Committee of the AAE and is on the Scientific Advisory Board for the Journal of Endodontics. Dr. Geisler is also the President and Co-founder of BioMatRx, LLC which is a company dedicated to tissue engineering applications in the field of dentistry, specifically revascularization and regeneration of the pulp-dentin complex.
Previously, Dr. Geisler maintained a practice limited to endodontics at the Richfield Metro Dentalcare for 4 years and subsequently has established Edina Endodontics.
