Dr. Gehring and his wife Susan have a son, Calvin, and two daughters, Caroline and Evelyn. Beyond his commitment to orthodontics and his family, Dr. Gehring enjoys snowboarding, water skiing, and being outdoors. As can be seen from his office dcor, he is an avid collector of antique toys and vintage bicycles. He is also an instrument-rated pilot.

Christie is one of our Certified Orthodontic Assistants who has been with our team since 1999, and has over 30 years of orthodontic experience. She truly enjoys seeing the amazing results and the increased level of self confidence that are achieved by having a beautiful smile. She and her husband Greg have 5 children and 1 grandson that keep them very busy. During her free time she loves spending time with her family and friends, shopping, listening to live music, camping, vacationing at the beach and in the mountains.
Christy is the Business Manager at Gehring Orthodontics and has been with our team since 2014. She is responsible for all financial and insurance matters for the office, as well as marketing initiatives. Christy brings many years of business and marketing experience to her role. She admires the work Dr. Gehring does in transforming the smiles for all ages and is happy to be a part of his team. Christy has three wonderful sons and loves spending time with them as well as getting together with family and friends.
Jan is one of our Treatment Coordinators and has been with our team since 1996. She has over 30 years of orthodontic and dental experience. She enjoys getting to know our new patients and seeing the positive transformation that comes with orthodontic treatment. She truly understands the impact of a beautiful smile and supports our patients throughout the process. Jan and her husband Jim have 2 children and 7 grandchildren. She enjoys shopping, golfing and spending time with family and friends. Jan is our office Nina.
Jill is one of our Certified Orthodontic Assistants and has been with our team since 1999. She has over 20 years of orthodontic experience. She is passionate about her role on our team and finds it very rewarding being involved in creating beautiful smiles. Jill lives in Anamosa with her 2 daughters, Hailey and Hannah. In her spare time, Jill likes to spend time with family and friends, enjoys walking, camping and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Karen is one of our Certified Orthodontic Assistants and Treatment Coordinators who has been with our team since 2004. She started her orthodontic career in Sioux City before coming to Cedar Rapids. Karen loves to see the positive impact a new smile can make on our patients. She and her husband Greg have one daughter who lives in Florida. In her spare time Karen enjoys hiking local trails, bird watching, traveling and shopping estate sales.
Kay is our Lab Technician and has been with our team since 1995. She has over 30 years of orthodontic experience. Kay enjoys seeing the beautiful results of orthodontic treatment and making retainers for our patients after they finish treatment. She and her husband Troy live in Lisbon. They have a son, Hunter, and daughter, Bailey. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, and shopping.
Robyn is a Registered Dental Hygienist and has been with our team since 2004. She really enjoys interacting with patients and watching their smiles transform over time. She has two children, Treyton and Jayden, and enjoys biking, golfing, and spending time with family and friends.

Both of my sons are going to Gehring Orthodontics and everyone here is super nice, professional, friendly and extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They are very accommodating my youngest has a hyper sensitive gag reflex which I was very concerned about in regards to orthodontics and the entire team has been so great with him and are always very patient. If you are considering orthodontal treatment Gehring Orthodontics should be at the very top of your list as its been a great experience across the board.

I just finished with my Invisalign treatment today and I couldn't be happier with Dr. Gehring and everyone on his team. The process was easy, there were regular check-ins that worked for my schedule, and he listened to my feedback on the process and made changes to align with my needs. The check ins were short, on time, and I rarely had to wait more than a couple minutes to be seen. Through all the steps in the process I was in good hands and everyone had a lot of experience at making my Invisalign treatment effective and successful. If you're looking for an orthodontist, you'll be in good hands with Dr. Gehring.

A beautiful smile has no age limit! But there is the natural wear and tear of our teeth and I wanted to preserve mine. Getting my braces at age 57 not only gave me straighter teeth but it will ensure that my overall health is maintained. And regardless of your age, you want to be healthy. Dr. Gehring and his team guided me through the entire process by creating a friendly, enjoyable and truly caring atmosphere. Add the top-notch client services they offer...it is the perfect recipe for anyone to get a beautiful, authentic and healthy smile! I am extremely satisfied with the my results and would do it again in a heart beat!

Gehring and his staff made me feel like an actual part of the team the entire long process in which I had my braces. They always worked around my schedule for my emergencies (in the beginning there were a lot of emergencies because my teeth changed dramatically). I'm constantly getting compliments for my smile now when before I was too self conscious to smile. Thank you for everything you've done for me Dr Gehring and his amazing staff!

I can not tell you how much I appreciate David! Both our girls are now in braces and I'm so happy I selected his office for my girls journey. Let me start off by explaining how much he helped today, the office is closed due to Covid 19. We had an emergency situation that couldn't wait until morning and I was able to call his personal phone and have him meet me at @9:30pm....yes 9:30pm at the office. He was able to get me in and out with a breeze and this is why we love Gehring Orthodontics!!!! Don't read no more....make yourself an appointment! -Rosie

Dr. Gehring and his staff are truly amazing. All of my children have gone through the process of bracing with Dr. Gehring and each experience has been equally great. They have made us feel like family, going above and beyond for both his patients and the community. I would recommend them to anyone!
