I deeply cherishserving a small community of amazingpeople. I enjoy gettingto know eachand every patientand I love building relationships with an entire family: I see and care for grandparents, their kids, and their grandkids. I treasure that the whole family has the same dentist and that I get to visit with them when they come in!
For me, dentistry is about changing lives. Our oral health is closely tied to our bodys health: What happens in one affects the other. Its important for people to understand that connection so theyre able to develop overall wellness along with a great smile.
My team and I provide a lot of education and encouragement. We supportpatients as they develop better habits and take better care of their health. We want everyone to have a healthy mouth andhealthy body, and to feel good about their smile!
I constantly travel throughout the US to take advantage of continuing education opportunities. ThoughI study a variety of dental topics, Im particularly drawn to courses in Aesthetics and Invisalign. As a dentist, I want to provide patients the most up-to-date treatment options and give each person a confident andhealthy smile.
I grew up south of San Francisco in Burlingame and Belmont. Tiburon hasbeen home to my husbandGeorge, mytwo daughters, Zoe and Daphne, and myselffor many years. I treasure our family time, especially our summer vacation at our family home in Greece.
Tamra joined our practice in 2007, having started in the dental field in 2001. She wears lots of hats in our office, from assisting the doctor and supporting patients during procedures to managing the staff. Her goal, like the rest of our team, is to keep our patients smiling!
Dr. Amanda Major grew up in Sonoma County and attended Santa Clara University for college-earning cum laude honors with degrees in both Chemistry and French. She graduated in the top of her class from the Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC, where she spent her spare time serving the dental needs of the homeless population in LA and providing free dental care for inner-city children. In 2015, Dr. Major earned her Fellowship in Dental Implantology from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists for extended study of dental implant surgeries. Her passion for learning eventually peaked an interest in teaching and inspiring the next wave of new dentists. She is honored to have had the opportunity to volunteer as restorative clinical faculty for UCSF School of Dentistry.
After practicing several years in Sonoma County, Dr. Major moved to Larkspur with her fianc, Jeff, and joined our practice in 2016. She loves building relationships with our patients and serving the dental needs of our community alongside a wonderful group of women. When she is not in our office, she also works at the Providence St Joseph Hospital Pediatric Dental Department in Santa Rosa, serves on the Redwood Empire Dental Society Board and volunteers as a delegate for the CDA House of Delegates.
My mission is to provide the best dental care possible with genuine enthusiasm, warmth and a commitment to quality. I am dedicated to providing a lifetime of oral health to you and your family and I strive for relationships based on mutual trust. I cant wait to meet you!
Karen graduated from BYU for her undergraduate degree and joined our office in March 2016. She is loved by many patients and we appreciate her thorough exams and cleanings. Many patients refuse to see any other hygienist once they see Karen and we understand that.
I was raised in Lake County and have been in dentistry since 1976! I started at SRJC as a dental assistant, studied at Sonoma state as a chemistry major, then graduated from UCSF dental hygiene school in 1987. I graduated top of my class with awards In research and periodontology! I knew at six years old that I wanted to be in dentistry; I would look at peoples mouths and think about how I could improve their smile! I have volunteered extensively in Marin County with the Marin County dental clinic, Ritter House, St. Vincent de Paul and the San Rafael fire department screening Hispanic children in the canal area. I love international volunteer work; I have travelled to Bangladesh, Nepal and Tibet offering free dental care through local NGOs. My goal is always to make dentistry accessible, educational and FUN FUN FUN!!
You are unique: You have very specific dental needs, smile goals, and personal concerns. You need dental care thats tailored to your situation, and treatment that ensures you reach your goals in a timely, comfortable manner.
For Dr. Gavros and our team, the best part of dentistry is getting to know each patient on a personal level. While we are experienced professionals, andpassionate about healthy smiles, we are especially driven to build real connections with our community.
Youll never feel like an anonymous number on a chart or a tooth in a treatment chair during visits. Instead, well greet you by name, remember whats important to you, and look forward to your visits as time with a friend. We genuinely care about you as a person!
