Although our focus is on the prevention of oral health disease and in the maintenance of optimum oral health, our primary goal is always to try to provide a positive dental experience for our patients. As such, we believe it is vital to create an environment of partnership with parents. Only by working together can we succeed in achieving the best oral health outcomes. We want parents to be involved in all aspects of treatment whenever possible; including allowing parents to be with their children during exams, cleanings, and procedures. We recognize how difficult coming into a dental office can be for children and parents alike. Be aware that at Gators Tooth Team we will never force any procedure; we want parents to be comfortable with our recommendations and enhance your child's dental experience.
At Gators Tooth Team we know that no two children are the same. Therefore, we expect different challenges in each case and are prepared to be flexible. Whenever possible, we will halt treatment at any sign of discomfort and if necessary try again on a different day, find an alternative to the treatment or make particular accommodations for your child. We are willing to go the extra mile to make your child's treatment a success.
As pediatric dental specialists, we are sensitive to parents wishes to limit exposure of potentially harmful substances; therefore we choose our products wisely. For instance, our sealants are BPA free and our cleaning pastes are gluten free. Also, we only use 'white colored' fillings and have the latest in digital x-rays hence limiting your childs exposure to a minimum. In order for us to provide a comprehensive pediatric dental experience for our patients, we also offer use of nitrous oxide (laughing gas), IV sedation services, and treatment under general anesthesia.
We are aware of our social responsibility as health care providers. We believe access to oral health is a right and therefore we have made a decision to participate in most government-subsidized dental programs.At the end of the day, our biggest satisfaction is to know are able to serve every single child who requires our services regardless of insurance type or socioeconomic status.
Dr Arevalo brings to Gators Tooth Team a strong background in academic, clinical and public health dentistry. He completed dental school at Javeriana University in Bogota, Colombia and completed post-doctoral studies at Boston University, Temple University and the University of Puerto Rico. He is dually-trained in pediatric and public health dentistry. Dr A is a Diplomate of both the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Board of Dental Public Health.
As an academician, he has held leadership positions in academic institutions including the Kornberg School of Dentistry, the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry and currently at the Nicklaus Childrens Hospital - formerly known as Miami Childrens Hospital - Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program. Dr Arevalo is an active member of the American Association of Public Health Dentistry, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Public Health Association where serves as past chair of the Oral Health Section. He has lectured nationally and internationally and published on professional peer-reviewed journals on topics including epidemiology, health disparities, delivery and financing of dental care; program evaluation; educational, training, and workforce issues; advocacy and health policy.
Dr Arevalo believes the role of the pediatric dentist goes beyond the dental office. Therefore, he is actively involved in advocacy activities at the State level, he currently servesas Chairperson of Oral Health Florida and the legislative committee of the Florida Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr Arevalos programmatic activities have been funded by state and federal agencies and private foundations. He serves as an advisor for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. In his spare time Dr A enjoys reading, running and cultural activities.

I loved this Pediatric office. It was a good first time visit for both of my children. Carolina was very helpful both over the phone and personally. We arrived 20 minutes late because we got lost on our way there and inside of the building which is undergoing renovations, but they were very understanding and friendly. Thank you Gator's Team, we are looking forward to seeing you guys soon!

Stay away, They don't care about your kids. Only a business to them. Keep missing our appointments, no doctors to work, all the doctors are leaving their office

Worst office ever!!! Took my daughter to get an extraction and was waiting for almost 3 HOURS!!!! After I went to the front desk to ask what was taking so long. The Dr said " Oh I dont want to work on this patient"!!! All because I was frustrated for having to wait and asked what was the hold up. My daughter has been in pain for 2 weeks and he just refused services, because he states " We were a problem" because he said something about having to wait. I have removed all 5 of my kids from office!!!

They are really good with the kids. 2 cavities, a root canal, and pulled tooth on a six year old went as smooth as I could have ever imagined

Took my almost 3 year old here for her first (long overdue) cleaning and checkup. I LOVED how professional and kind the staff is and how clean and bright the office is. The staff made my daughter feel comfortable to help her nail her first appointment. Very impressed and will be back!

If there was a zero stars, I would put that. Very mean and pushy. Not gentle. Do things fast don't take there time. Very mean. Don't take your kids ther please! Horrible people!

1st time taking my kids here. Right from the 1st call to make new patient appointment to checking out, everything was perfect. Carlos, the Office Manager took care from start to finish. My 8 year old son was a little nervous like any other child would be sitting on a dentist chair but the hygienist and the dentist both made him extremely happy and comfortable. Any one thinking of making that 1st appointment... Go for it!

I took my son there for his first dentist appointment ever. They were so understanding on how scary it can be. They were so sweet. It is such a cute place and children friendly ! The best is that they were so quick too. I am so glad that I chose this place for my son. Definitely reccomend!!!

I moved to Pompano Beach and now the drive is a bit further, however my Kids love Carlos, the Dentist and team so very much ! The team makes the kids feel so comfortable explaining step by step what they are doing. I recommend Gators Tooth to anyone who is looking!!!
