Dr. Whisenant grew up in Dripping Springs and is so excited to be back home caring for the folks in his hometown. He attended college at Texas A&M University earning a B.S. and M.S. in Wildlife Ecology. After a short time as a biologist, he couldnt shake his childhood desire to be a dentist, so he returned to school. He attended dental school at Baylor College of Dentistry and has been enjoying caring for folks in the dental chair since 2010.
Dr. Whisenant truly enjoys providing trustworthy, quality dentistry to his patients. He wants every patient to know that they have his full attention and that their care is a tremendous responsibility that he respects. He is honored when folks trust him with their dental care and takes pride in taking time to educate his patients and answer any questions. He believes the trust of his patients is paramount.
Dr. Whisenant and his wife enjoy traveling and staying active outside. In October 2015, they welcomed their first child, Beckham. As Beckham gets older, they plan to be on the move again, whether it be on mountain bikes, skis, in hiking boots or visiting new or old places with a new perspective.

We moved to Dripping Springs a little over 2 years ago and searched for a dentist that others trusted. Thankfully, Gatlin Creek Dentistry was recommended to us by a number of neighbors and we thought we would give them a try. Well, we have to say, it was a great decision! Dr. Whisenant and his staff treat their patients with the same great care as I believe they do of family. My wife chose to get invisiline braces and she was stepped through the process and it was an exceptional experience for her. I recently had to have a crown replaced, and I am not a big fan of dentists, but Dr. Whisenant took that into account and helped me have a calm experience. Our cleanings are also quick and painless. The entire staff is caring and we are patients for life. If you are looking for quality care with a staff that truly values its patients, look no further than Gatlin Creek Dentistry. Update - We continue to use Gatlin Creek and now that our kids have moved into town, they too go there. My hygienist, Allison, is personable with great attention to detail and very careful. I used to be terrified of the dentist and did not like getting my teeth cleaned, but the experience now is excellent so I am relieved. Definitely continue to recommend Mr. Whisenant and his team at Gatlin Creek Dentistry.

Dr. Whisenant and his staff, from check in to check out, are as good as it gets. Not only they are extremely professional and attentive to my needs, they are clearly dedicated to provide a pain free and positive overall experience. Couldn't recommend them enough!

You never know what a treasure a great dentist is until you have a bad one. Dr Whisenant at Gatlin Creek is a GREAT dentist, a treasure and today, a master in his craft. He replaced cracked yellowing bonding after breaking my front teeth 45 yrs ago with stunning natural results! Love their office staff as well...professional, excellent service and welcoming!

After having a terrible experience with a dental procedure, I didn't want to go back to any dentist. Dr. Whisenant changed that for me. He and his staff made me comfortable. They asked how I was doing through whole procedure. Hannah was great keeping me calm. Great experience. I highly recommend them.

The best dentist I have been to in all of my 50 years. Had to have a crown put in and the worst part of any dental procedure for me is the shot to numb you up. They started with a topical numbing solution. I NEVER felt the poke of any of the injections. Literally no pain just some pressure. They were very compassionate throughout the whole procedure. So grateful to have found them!
