I am very sad to have to give a negative review because my experience with Dr. Squyres himself has been great. Unfortunately, his staff treated me very unprofessionally when I called to reschedule an appointment. My daughter was very sick, and I had to pick her up from school early. I called before 10am to let them know I would need to reschedule my appointment (which was at 4:15pm). Instead of allowing me reschedule and understanding a situation everyone with children has to deal with at some point, she said I would owe $50 for cancelling my appointment within 24 hrs. I explained to her that I was not canceling, but I would need to reschedule due to a sick child. She proceeded to use an extremely unprofessional and rude tone as she told me there is "nothing she can do". So, instead of allowing me to reschedule, they sent me a bill in the mail for $50. In the years of being a patient with this dentist, I had never missed an appointment and, in fact, always arrived early. Many of my friends have even switched dentists to become patients of Dr. Squyres. But now, I will not be returning to this office due to them not extending a little kindness or grace for those who have children and extenuating circumstances.

Dr. Gary is the best dentist I've ever been to. I highly recommend his work. His staff makes the experience even better. Everyone is friendly, caring and extremely professional.

Let me begin first by saying that I have lost two teeth due to negligence, both on my part and those dentists who preceded Dr. Squyres. For two years, I complained of pain in my jaw and was told by Dr. Patrick Iglinsky the pain was due to my grinding my teeth, which was partially true... but also, and more prevalently, due to an abscess undetected by the dentist because x-rays didn't reveal it because they weren't aimed low enough. I switched dentists. That tooth was extracted. Dr. Christian Nunn, who came highly recommended, neglected to acknowledge pain of which I complained, even after I'd said I've a high tolerance for pain... and this neglect caused me to lose another tooth. I switched to Texas Center for Cosmetic Dentristy, but they were too expensive--I was with them briefly. A friend recommended Dr. Squyres. I'm not sure when I started seeing him. I had found him tepid, personably, but he seemed capable... so I stayed. I work fifteen hours a week. I make less than two hundred dollars a week. I don't have dental insurance right now because I can't afford it, and it's seemed to be essentially useless, as I have still had to pay for dental visits and cleanings after the fact. When the office contacted me last week to verify insurance, which I no longer have, I'd said I'd be paying for the visit, thinking it was just a cleaning. When the hygienist called me back and said we'd start with a panoramic X-ray, warning bells sounded in my head. I can't afford an X-ray, I thought. Definitely NOT a panoramic one. I said as much. She argued with me, saying she couldn't treat me without the X-ray, as I'd not had X-rays since 2019 (that's not that long ago, I thought. Surely it could wait until the next visit). I told her again I couldn't afford the X-ray and I just wanted the cleaning. She balked and said she'd have to get permission from the dentist. I marveled at this. She excused herself. Moments later the dentist returned, with a combative expression on his face. He asked me what the problem was. I told him, but he interrupted me, saying that his staff had tried to convey this information the other day. He didn't use the word "convey", by the way. I can't remember what was said after that until he said, "You can leave." His eyes lost any sense of friendliness and kindness. He was quite intimidating. I don't deal well with that. I have cerebral palsy and have seen hundreds of doctors in my life. I don't appreciate being treated the way I was today. I don't appreciate being spoken to in such a manner. I said, "Oh, I'm done here." He said, "You're done here." I walked out. I scheduled a cleaning at another dentist's office. I do not recommend this one. Once upon a time, I might have. But not today. I'm done here.
