Dr. Plaza has been providing dental care for the southwest Florida community since 2016. Originally born in Maryland, she moved with her family to Southeast Florida as a child where she stayed through college, attending Florida Atlantic University where she completed her bachelors degrees in both Psychology and Biology. She then went on to be part of the inaugural class of dental students at Lake Erie College of Medicine in Bradenton, Fl. She did a year of clinical education in Erie, Pennsylvania and then moved to Bonita Springs, FL to complete an Advanced Education of General Dentistry through New York University residency.
Dr. Plaza and her husband decided to stay and create roots in Southwest Florida because of the friendliness of the people and the beautiful environment. They now have a family including two young girls, Raya and Zoey.
Originally from Ohio, Jodi moved to Florida in 2011. She started her love for dentistry while in high school where she was a sterile tech and dental assistant. Jodi changed gears in 2002 and took interest in the front desk, where she has been ever since. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family. She and her husband have 2 children, Emersyn and Jaxson.
Originally from North Miami, Annette has been living in Cape Coral since 1988. She started Dental Assisting in 1993 during her senior year of high school. She became certified in 1994 and has been assisting since then. Annette says that she wanted to be in dentistry since she was eight years old!
I love to make people smile and I feel a great sense of accomplishment when the patient actually looks forward to coming in for treatment! I enjoy the difficult and challenging cases and the success stories that come from them!
I have been with Shierling Family Dentistry since 2006 and love the ladies I work with. Each one has become special to me. We work as a team and help each other. We always have the patients best interest in mind and its always a pleasure to work at a place where youre not afraid to have your family and friends go for treatment!
Born and raised in Cape Coral, Danielle graduated from Heritage institute and has more than six years of assisting experience. Danielle loves to build relationships with patients and watch them smile! Danielle loves to spend time with her husband and their daughter Amelia, they all enjoy boating. They also have a family dog and two bunnies!
Sara moved to Southwest Florida in June of 2021, and as luck would have it, found her forever home at Shierling Family Dentistry in July. Sara has been a dental assistant for 4 years, having gone to school in her home state of New Hampshire with her twin sister Ashlyn. Sara is anxious to have Ashlyn move to Florida so they can continue their escapades. In addition, Saras best friend is her Newfoundland, Mooki who she takes everywhere!
Born and raised in the Dominican Republic, Miledys moved here in 2006. She got her dental assistant certifications at Edison College in 2006 and has been practicing since. She is married and has two little girls. In her spare time she enjoys travelling.
Originally from New Hampshire, Katie grew up in Yorktown, Virginia and moved to Cape Coral in 2017. With a BS in Dental Hygiene, she has over ten years experience. Katie loves building relationships with patients and educating them about dental hygiene.
Born in Chicago, Heather has lived in Cape Coral since 1986. She says that her aunt is a dental hygienist and inspired her to go into the field. She really enjoys getting to know her patients and helping them with their oral health.
I watched the building being built and thought, What a beautiful place to work! I love the people I work with and the patients have become such friends. I have watched many of them grow throughout my years at Shierling Family Dental.
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Mariah grew up in southern California and has lived in Florida since 2002.A registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) for 13 years, she graduated from FSW (formerly Edison College) dental hygiene program.
Dawn comes to us from southeastern Pennsylvania where she is a registered dental hygienist and a public health practitioner. She has taken thousands of continuing education courses throughout her over 30 years of dental experience.
