The office of Gary R. Woodall, DDS, MAGD, PA is proud to serve Knoxville, TN and surrounding areas. We are dedicated to providing the highest level of dental medicine along with friendly, compassionate service.
Dr. Woodall was born and raised in Knoxville, and was voted most friendly by his senior high school class. He attended Freed Hardeman University where he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He then attended the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences College of Dentistry in Memphis graduating with the highest honor awarded by the College of Dentistry as he received the Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree.
Since that time Dr. Woodall has pursued continuing his education with post doctoral course work at many institutions. He has received awards from the Tennessee Dental Association recognizing exceptional devotion to continuing education in the interest of better patient care. He was awarded Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry after completing hundreds of hours of continuing education, and passing an examination covering all areas of dentistry including specialty areas. After hundreds of hours more of continuing education involving lecture, hands-on training as well as presenting cases to other Fellows and Masters for scrutiny and peer review, he was awarded Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry, an award achieved by only approximately 1% of practicing dentists in the United States. Dr. Woodall serves as President-elect for The Tennessee Academy of General Dentistry.
He has been practicing cosmetic dentistry for over 35 years. Having satisfied all the requirements necessary, he has been advanced to the status of Sustaining Member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD).
Dr. Woodall and his wife, the former Donna McAntyre, have three children: Tyler, Heather, and Haley. Heather, and husband Dustin, are parents to Dr. Woodalls grandsons, Dryden and Drake. Dr. Woodall is an elder in the church, has coached in basketball, baseball, soccer, and softball in Knox County. He is a supporter of a long list of local and national charitable causes. Off road adventure, snow skiing, shooting sports, hiking and gardening are among the activities Dr. Woodall enjoys when he has the opportunity.
Our Knoxville dental office provides cable and closed circuit television, headphones, AM/FM/CD players, pillows, blankets, a computer-aided patient education system in a high-comfort, high-tech, warm, and caring environment.

Just wanted to share my experience at Dr. Woodall's office. I had a tooth removed and prepped for a future implant. Of course I was concerned about the procedure and as usual unnecessarily so. Dr. Woodall was encouraging and made me feel relaxed with his easy, cheerful manner. I experienced no pain which says volumes about Dr. Woodall's expertise given the nature of the procedure. Dr. Woodall took his time explaining in detail what to expect prior to starting the process and as the process unfolded. The hygienist had thoroughly prepped me prior to Dr. Woodall entering the room. I felt so cared for. We even had a few laughs during the process. I would be remiss if I didn't mention Dr. Woodall's kind and knowledgeable front desk staff. I always appreciate my interaction with them. What a professional team! Thank you all.
