As a practice, we are true believers that preventative care and education are the keys to optimal dental health. We strive to provide dental health care vs. disease care. Thats why we focus on thorough exams checking the overall health of your teeth and gums, and taking x-rays when necessary. A review of your medical history can help us stay informed of your overall health, any new medications, and any illnesses that may impact your dental health.

Infection control in our office is also very important to us. To protect our patients and ourselves, we strictly maintain sterilization and cross contamination processes using standards recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

Dr. Wheeler attended the University of Maine, Orono for his undergraduate degree and the University of Maryland Baltimore College of Dental Surgery where he earned his DDS. He is a current member of the Mass Dental Society and the American Dental Association. Dr. Wheeler is passionate about his work and strives for excellence. His genuine sense of humor put his patients at ease. When he is not in the office he enjoys swimming and is a member of the Masters Swim Club. Dr. Wheeler is also an annual participant in Swim Across America.

Dr. Melcer has many years' experience placing implants and performing periodontal surgery he has been with our office since 1991. He attended the University of Pennsylvania Dental School where he received his DMD and obtained a Master of Public Health from Harvard Periodontics and Oral Medicine. Prior to working at our office Dr. Melcer worked at the Forsyth Dental Center, Mass General Periodontics, Charles River Dental and Boston Medical Center. In his spare time Dr. Melcer enjoys golfing and spending time with his wife and dog Alfie.

Sandy has been a team member since 2007, she attended Middlesex community college where she obtained an associates degree in dental hygiene. She has a bachelor's degree in psychology and local anesthesia certification. Sandy served as the president of the Massachusetts Dental Society Hygienists' Association from 2011-2012. She was awarded Massachusetts Dental Society hygienist of the year in 2015 and hygienist of the year by the North Shore component of MDHA in 2010. In 2017 she was named the Massachusetts Dental Hygienists' Association Constituent Hygienist of the year. In her spare time Sandy enjoys spending time at her family's home in Maine with her children and grandchildren.

Amy has been a team member since 2001. She attended Middlesex community college where she obtained an Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene. Amy is certified in CPR and Radiology and is a member of the Massachusetts Dental Hygienist Association. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time at her family's home in Maine with her husband and two daughters.

Irene has been a dental assistant in our office since 2007, she attended Bryman Institute where she earned her Dental Assisting certification. She is also certified in Radiology and CPR. Irene is often at front desk when not assisting where you will always see her smiling face. In her spare time Irene enjoys spending time with her family. Irene also loves cooking for her family and her co-workers.

Christina has been a team member since 2003 and became our office manager in 2007. She attended Bryant University where she received a B.S. in Business Management. She has taken many continuing education classes on insurance and patient financing. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, walking, yoga and spending time with her husband and family.

We were lucky to find Jen, her bubbly personality makes her a perfect fit for our office. Jen received her RDH from Middlesex Community College in 2003 and has worked in various offices in Boston and on the North Shore. Jen is CPR and Radiology certified and is currently working towards her anesthesia certification.

Chris is the newest member of our team. Chris comes with over 30 years experience she is a Danb registered assistant and is also a registered dental assistant with the state of Massachusetts. Chris is CPR and radiology certified and keeps up to date with continuing education.In her spare time, Chris loves spending time with her family, which includes her two children, her grandson and her two dogs. Chris' hobbies are making beautiful stained glass creations and working on genealogy.
