Dr. Gary Pointer attended TCU and did his post graduate dental training at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Dr. Pointer opened his private practice in Fort Worth in September of 1979 and has provided contemporary, comfortable dental care to Fort Worth area patients ever since. Dr. Pointer has been voted among the Top Dentists in Fort Worth by his peers.
Dr. Pointer has been a member of TCUs Sports Medicine Department for over 30 years providing the highest level of care to intercollegiate student athletes. In 2017, he was made an honorary member of the Southwest Athletic Trainers Association (SWATA) for his contributions to Sports Medicine at TCU.
Dr. Pointer is married to Denise Mack Pointer. They have two grown children and four perfect grandchildren, all residing in Fort Worth. In his free time, Dr. Pointer is an avid golfer and die-hard TCU Frog fan.
Michae is our Business Manager and Business Administrator. She has been in our practice since 2004. Michae has over 30 years of dental experience in almost every capacity. She has clinical certifications which include radiology, nitrous oxide, and CPR, as well as her Registered Dental Assistant degree. Michae developed an interest in dental office business administration and began her office management career in 1992. She graduated early from high school in the Chicago area and attended Southern Illinois University.
Kathy comes to Dr. Pointers practice with an extensive background in medical business office operations. She also has years of experience in dental administration having worked in a large oral surgery practice as a treatment coordinator. She is a Texas native graduating from Venus High School. Kathy is a proud mother of three grown children, two of whom proudly serve our nation in the United States Marine Corp and the United States Army. Her five grandchildren keep her busy when she is not at the office.
Melinda is a chairside assistant and has been with Dr. Pointers practice since 2006. She graduated from San Benito High School in the Rio Grande Valley and received her dental training from the Bryan Institute. Her experience began in general dentistry and after a brief time, she furthered her experience in prosthodontics in Fort Worth where she now resides. She has extensive experience in restorative dentistry. Melinda is a Registered Dental Assistant and has certificates in CPR and radiology. Melinda is also bilingual in Spanish
Christine is one of our chairside assistants but she wears many hats in our office. In addition to her clinical duties, she is proficient in business office and she also does much of our specialized lab work. She works closely with our TCU athletes and makes all of our custom made athletic mouth guards for the TCU athletic department. Christine is a Southwest High School graduate and received her dental training from the ATI Career Center. She spent most of her dental career in a pediatric office, and joined Dr. Pointer in 2007.
Hannah is one of our licensed dental hygienists. She is from Syracuse, NY where she graduated from Bishop Ludden High School. In 2011 Hannah graduated with honors from dental hygiene school in Buffalo, NY where she obtained her degree as a Registered Dental Hygienist. She moved to Dallas in 2014 and there became experienced in soft tissue management, including periodontal laser treatment. In her free time, Hannah enjoys cooking, traveling, biking and running. Hannah has now found her home in Fort Worth, and is excited to be an integral part of Dr. Pointers clinical team.
Laura is one of our licensed dental hygienists and has worked in the dental field for over 30 years. She has been a registered dental hygienist for over 27 years with certifications in nitrous and CPR. Laura was born and raised in Fort Worth, and graduated salutatorian from Castleberry H. S. in 1990. She then attended TCU for her freshman and sophomore years of college while working part-time as a dental assistant. For junior and senior years of college she attended Baylor College of Dentistry from where she graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene as the gold medal graduate. Currently, Laura is working on a masters degree in health promotion and nutrition. For fun she enjoys hiking, yoga, watching football, and making fun memories with family and friends.
Jessica is one of our licensed dental hygienists and has been practicing in Fort Worth for over a decade. She graduated from Mineral Wells High School and received her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from Midwestern State University in 2008. She holds numerous certifications including laser assisted periodontal therapy, CPR and nitrous oxide monitoring. Jessica is also trained in myofunctional therapy and is educated in treatment of sleep disordered breathing and disorders of the muscles and functions of the face and mouth. During her time off she enjoys swimming and traveling with her husband and son.
